You can’t just say Jeremy Clarkson slept on your bed without giving any context to it 😂
Didn’t I say they rented my house in Lqncelin?
I know lots dislike clarkson, but as an American who loves British humor knowing clarkson rags on Americans, I still think the man is gold and would enjoy meeting him and talk about a V8 motor amercan accent lol
"I was the first to arrive"
@@KymIllmanyou didn’t
I’ve listened to it again and you just said “I wasn’t there. It was at my house in Lancelin and I actually mentioned it to him when I saw him on Sunday”
And then you moved on lol
Please make a video about this :)

*Lancelin
The darts player 17 going on 39.
He may not race under the British flag, but there's already a fourth British driver! Alex!
Was at the race all weekend myself. So good to hear positive things about the British! What a RACE!
Some would say 4 drivers with Alex Albon born in the UK put picking his parents country. 🤔
Princess Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth, and her sister Princess Margaret attended the first race with their father along with Queen Elizabeth, later The Queen Mother, that day. Prince Charles was a regular for many years. Princess Diana presented the winners trophy in 1994 and both of her sons have been to races at Silverstone...
Video suggestion: do a video assigning superlatives to all the races on the calendar. Silverstone is the biggest race, Monaco is the jewel in the crown, some are probably the weirdest, most boring, most difficult, most profitable, etc. based on the track design and location, not because of the current drivers competition.
I spotted you at Turn 1 Kym! I was in The View grandstand :)
"the British know how to do motorsport", that is correct sir! 😊
Being an Australian I have had one opertunity in life to go to a Grand Prix ...so I chose the British.
I attended Silverstone in 1983 and its just the best circuit for testing F1 cars and drivers...still have fond memories of that place.
Great video Kym, I was there as always. What a weekend! One thing though, you said the front man of Jamiroquai was John Kay, his name is Jay Kay. 😉 I'll let you off haha. Glad you were able to snap a pic of him, we saw him on the big screen playing air guitar to We Will Rock You.
Me and a couple of friends went, we took my campervan and stayed on the Cartmel Fields site. I can honestly say this event was absolutely superb, bar the rain and food prices hands-down best event I've been to, trumps Latitude, Glasto, V Fest ect
Kym, first, your voice has the most soothing tone. I can watch your videos just to hear you speak. Second, Im neutral on celebrities as long they speak to Martin Brundle. If they won’t speak with him they should be ejected like the cow in Monty Pythons Holy Grail scene.
Another great video Kym. Silverstone is by far, the greatest race on the calendar
9:16 @KymIllman you have described my experience to the tee. Nice to see you trackside at luffield (I was the fire marshal who asked you how your weekend was going)
Its Jason Kay mate, top guy, even when the cameras are off he'll make time for you.
Awesome post keep up the good work … I can’t believe there r people still complaining about celebrities. They probably don’t understand the business of Motorsport. Investments, ROI, sponsorship, celebrities. You see it in tennis, American Football 🏈, NBA… It’s all part of the spectacle. As long as they help support their brand, be kind to the fans, it’s all good 👍
Well done, monster of a vid to get together, so much going on
Great content as always. A joy to see your coverage of the "backstage" during race weekends.
Because a number of VIPs dont know the first thing about F1, how about F1 do a lottery at every race for a number of related purchased tickets to win VIP for race day? Not sure if they do this already but if not can you suggest it to the powers that be the next time you shmoosing? Great content as usual, not mentioned soccer/ football this time!
I cannot share all of your positive vibes. I found logistics bad, the services bad and the parking muddy. Also the total public room (not for you celebreties) was not much giving shelter from the rain, and was unbelievable dirty and muddy. I thought it was a shame for such a famous race, which was also far too expensive.
Great video Kym!
4:21 Richard Hammond's daughter Izzy behind him.
What an epic weekend 🔥🔥 wil be at the Singapore F1 hope to meet you.
Highest attendance for an F1 race weekend is held by the 1998 Melbourne event.....520,000.
That’s correct
Maybe Guardiola should advise both McLaren and Ferrari for their strategy calls
ITS NOT CALLED SOCCER KYM YOURE IN BRITIAN NOW
Acutally soccer is s British word.....look it up
It comes from the word association
Lol, I find it funny that someone "complains" about words when they use all CAPS, and can't spellcheck properly😊
Yeah, most of us British people also include Alex. He may race under a Thailand flag but he is British. So next year there will be 5 out of 20. 25% of the drivers are British. 💪🏻
Silverstone and Suzuka are special! And Spa
Jeremy Clarkson Did wat??? We need more context
Love from South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Patrick Mahomes, and his team mate Travis Kelce, were reported as lead investors in an ownership group that secured a $218 million investment into a Formula Alpine Racing. (edit update) Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were also reported as investors in Alpine.
Plus Rory McIroy the golfer, another Alpine investor.
Then we will see Tay-Tay and Travis canoodling at an F1 race or two!
After Austria, I expected Max to comment to the British GP organizers, asking if they are now having trouble with ticket sales.. 😂
Hey, I got into cricket early last year after seeing it pop up in my youtube feed! I enjoy that more than baseball to be honest. But I still didnt know that cricketer.
Any advice for an American Photographer wanting to get into race photography? Being a F1 photographer is the dream!
Alex Albon is also British, born in London but represents his Thai side
Kym's keeping up with the Mighty Freo Dockers on Kayo 😁
Trust me, the dockers hold no appeal for me
The first Indianapolis USGP in 2000 drew 250k for race day without lots of celebrities.
Well, if that was on the calendar, that would be the biggest race
Hammond!!!
Did you see the video of Rowan Atkinson impersonating Martin Brundle whilst being interviewed by Martin Brundle? It appeared that MB don’t notice
A friend of mine worked at the helicopter company at silverstone, she told me there was 800 helicopter movements on Sunday
Lots more bowel movements
I am surprised that you haven’t mentioned the ticket discounting they had to do because of the extortionate inflation busting prices dynamic pricing
Mick Doohan at 4:51 and I take it's his son Jack beside him (I've never seen a picture of him)
I don't know Mick but that's definitely Jack.
Special race!
That was Jason "Jay" Kay. Not John Kay.
Correct
4:49 Mick Doohan goes without a mention... 🤔
He’s a regular
Hahahaha John Kay from Jamiroquai 😂??? It's Jay Kay!
I knew that I don’t know why I said John though and I’ve no idea why my editor didn’t pick that up
Jason Kay, technically speaking hence ‘Jay’ 😂
So
Many people out there I would know half of them
Jay Kay is a huge car collector (and sadly got seriously hurt in an accident with one). At some concerts he has a giant screen background of himself racing. I am a long-time Jamiroquai fan.
At Zandvoort it was not only the King but more of his family.
George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and Princess Margaret went to the first-ever Formula One race, which was held at the Silverstone Circuit in 1950.
Prince Harry has been several times since he was a child and Princess Diana took him.
Brian May is a very good photographer
Silverstone is a RACER / SPECTATOR circuit. What I love about Silverstone is that it also has true legacy in regards to F1. To me, it is the only flat track that gives good racing. Another thing I love about Silverstone is that the "celebrity" angle is not an issue unlike the Monaco / Miami / Vegas / Austin and a few others that rely heavily on the "artificial tinsel" folk. It is motor racing and only motor racing that is the STAR of the show. A true circuit, for true fans with true drivers. What spoils other circuits is all the artificial adendums that are the draw cards .... sucks. Lets get back to motor racing .... leave the glitter and superficial at home, lets keep it real and have passion back, on and off the track.
Alex drives with a Thai licence, but he is British, so 4 British drivers.😅
You have to go by what flag they race under, that’s the law
Reece James doesn´t play for Chelsea. He sits at home, injured, watching his team on TV.
You, sir deserve a like.
wow i thought Austin had a lot of choppers
nah if you're there you are fair game some of us live for the grid walk, me and the wife tune in an hour before the race to see it, hate to see brundle shunned
I want that guys skin to make a steering wheel cover
you forgot that there is a sir every day on track
All the celebs are an indicator of the good health of F1.
Jamiroquai singer is Jason (Jay) Kay, not John.
If Monaco is the Jewel in the crown of F1 Silverstone might just be the gold in the crown.
John Kay 😆. Jay (Jason) Kay!
Apparenyly, the son of Princess Anne was in the attendance!
The problem with so many celebrities is that they often appear as shallow and arrogant... something you can not say about Rowan Atkinson, you can only love that man.
The f1 drivers themselves seem arrogant and not interested in fans.
How is that a problem?
I don’t know much about the Royals but it seems they prioritise the more “posh” Wimbledon.
King Willem Alexander from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 in Zandvoort😊
I was referring to British royalty
Just forgetting 2 big youtubers in the UK and inviter by fiais boss.... Nico Leonard and Mat Armstrong
6:01 17 going on 35
Im pretty sure "F1" goes way back than 1950
Spa f1s best race
DONT FORGE ALEX HES ALSO A BRIT
Races under the Thailand flag, so British born, but not a British driver.
I had forgetten about that too😭
Mr Bean needs to be F1’s global ambassador😹
King Willem Alexander van Oranje !
biggest race SO FAR
I won't be paying to go to Silverstone again next year for the first time in a long time. Silverstone doesn't care about the fans anymore. Completely lost there way for all the reasons you mention and more. I genuinely think they will struggle more than this year to sell tickets for 2025. Hoping to go elsewhere for a different race.
what about goodwood speed fest ?
They never responded to my accreditation request
What happened to your microphone? Sounds not as good as always 🙌😢
Poor Martin Brundle for Sky Sports now has to drag himself from celebrity to celebrity on the pre-race grid instead of doing the iconic car-to-car grid walk. How humiliating. A couple races back he said while pushing through to the next celeb, "I might not have a job after today, but I've had a good career". I don't give a hang about celebs on the grid. Actually, I detest them. They just get in the way of my seeing the cars being prepared for the Formation Lap and race. They also give the hint, "We' re in a big club and you ain't in it". Screw them.
That 17 year old has lived a very hard life
I have no issue with celebrities at races. What I do have an issue with, however, is celebrities who have no interest in F1 and are only there for the media exposure.
I live not to far from silverstone , every 5 mins there was a helicopter going over
I enjoy your celebrity coverage. Thanks from Los Angeles
Clarkson stayed at your place? Who are you Kym Illman?
That guys 17????
00:32 seconds into this I’m liking. Monaco is truly so BS.
Have you ever seen James May at a race?
No
@@KymIllman I see.
Hi Kymillman need to ask your sons to setup you up a discord server so us community can chat together all about F1
Do you known is the Talent list is accessible to us the public, and see you next we at the Hungarian GP 🇭🇺 😎
Don’t think so
Kym what hotel should i stand in front of in Budapest to see a driver ?????????????????????????????
Keep an eye on their Instagram accounts
Go to the race and see them drive rather than stalking their personal life?
@@joep5080 dont be mad because your a looser and probably never been to a formula 1 race. there are hundreds of people waiting. if they didint wanna be seen they would go thru the back jackass
I need to hurry up and become a celebrity
It was a good race but not the best race.
I didn’t say it was the best race, I said it was the biggest end of that there is no doubt
Why is lando more popular among the brits? ( and not Lewis or George)
Just from the cheers from the crowd. That’s a pretty good indication of whose most popular.
@@KymIllman but why?
Kym please can you change how you pronounce 'data'? Do it for your european fans ❤
No, that’s the way we say it.
First!
Lewis hamilton did win
Don't call Monaco BS Kim, you know better. It's been around forever. Watching your vids a little less than I used to.
People at monaco like Monaco, nobody that watches F1 likes manaco. Manaco is over hyped becasue its everything bad about F1 that the FIA and F1 loves.
Qualifying is probably the highlight of the Monaco GP. It is a drivers track and the drivers need to be on the utmost edge to get the best lap times. It is good to watch them just about hitting the barriers and of course the views are amazing, I definitely would not want to see Monaco scrapped from the calender just as I wouldn't want to see Canada, Monza, Spa and Silverstone lose their GP's. Monaco isn't the only boring race, there are others that offer very little racing.
I'm ok with celebs who are real fans, but if they come in just to be seen and snub Martin I say ban them.
At 17 year old darts player looks like he's 35
Second
😂😂😂 celebrities… how mundane
