Wow! I love this video. And the new connected E4 is absolutely amazing. Great work!
Thank you Sadia, full review coming soon! Stay tuned. 😬👍
A good review of a very nice watch. I’m tempted. Thank you.
Happy to help! I'll be doing an update soon with the Stainless Steel version
Excellent first Impression video.
Can't wait for the full review.
All the current content around the E4 is crap.
Great to see a good video.
Thanks a lot Anthony!
Great video
Thank you, going to be getting a few more out soon
thanks for the video. i was happy to see this watch review.
was also happy to see Tag update the E3 with some of the new faces.
E3 is also 5ATM.
calculating the calories and actual steps improvement would be interesting. i can answer the phone all day with the E3 and hit my steps.
i'm personally going to keep the E3 and then buy the new bracelet for date night. I prefer the silver bezel over the black.
My experience i get a solid day and half battery out of my watch. screen brightness turned down. Not many people bother me all day and i don't have all notifications turned on other than text and calls. I don't use watch to the fullest capability other than weather tag fit
i'm personally going to keep the E3 and then buy the new bracelet for date night. I prefer the silver bezel over the black.
I think i'd buy an E4 if they come out with a 2 tone. gold or rose gold and stainless, then i'd be ok with black bezel or a bluesy would be legit
Just my thoughts
Thanks for taking time to comment. The E3 is very capable, this is a nice upgrade, but not a vital one. My suggestion is to try to get the E3 bracelet, much nicer in my opinion.
Nice review Doug but you know it’s a smart watch we don’t even know if TAG Heuer do replace this watch for a real carrera for a certain amount like they did in the past. What I don’t like about smart watch there getting obsolete fast.
Thanks Michel. Tag no longer does that exchange, that was only generation 1. Gen 2 they made it so you could swap out the smartwatch and mechanical in the actual case. E3 was pure smartwatch, no replacement for real Carrera, and that’s the same with e4.
Regarding obsolete, it’s only obsolete if the features are no longer relevant to the user. I’ve always looked at the term obsolete as very subjective.
Profi works perfekt vodice 👌👌👌Number one video👍👍👍
Thank you. 😬👍
Nice video. When is the updated OS expected?
Thank you! I am hoping by they release it by the end of the year. I’m going to guess it will be early next year though. I’ll be doing a video on it when it releases. I wish there was a beta.
How to change the temperature from F to C?
I got the E4 , new to wear OS. Can u post some videos on changing faces from watchmaker or other apps in iOS . I am sure that will help lots of folks switching to wear OS from Apple Watch. I would love to get more tag faces..
Thanks Malik, which version did you get? Watchmaker works the same way on the E4 as the 3rd gen. Please see the video below..

Greetings. Curious to hear your thoughts on the WearOS 3 now avail on the watch.
Hi Jaime. It’s smoother, but many are regretting the upgrade. You loose Google Pay, Google Assistant, and Google maps if using iOS.
@@DougFNJ thanks Doug, I feel better now that I know it wasn’t just me who lost Google Pay. Like you said, much smoother but still lots of bugs. Imagine if Apple and Tag Heuer ever do a partnership. It would be game over for every other smartwatch. One can only dream, haha.
Just received the watch. How do you access the fitness animation? Can't seem to find it.
Congratulations! Which version did you get? In the Tag Heuer Sports, tap Fitness, and you will see the guided programs.
@@DougFNJ Got it. Thanks again!
Can you give more information regarding battery 🔋 please to get a full day you say are you sacrificing settings to achieve this, brightness, connectivity eg Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS
I find with heavy use, I can get a day. Gen 3 it would be on the charger at 5pm. This generation I out it on the charger before bed.
Battery life remains severely inferior to Galaxy. You need to carefully monitor what you turn on to get a day out of it. If you are using fitness tracker or GPS, you can kill it in 6 hours.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO INSTALL the golf function?
Yes, it could download a ton of courses, it’s supposed to be a great app. Unfortunately I don’t golf, but it’s supposed to be a great feature.
Can the straps from the 3rd gen fit in the 4th gen?
Yes, keep your straps, they work.
@@DougFNJ thanks bro
Does it have an always on display like the Apple Watch does?
Hey Keith, it does. Same type, dims out when wrist is turned, and brightens when you look at it.
There is an always on feature, and your battery will DRAIN. The feature Doug mentions saves battery life, but the turn the wrist feature works only 1/3 of the time.
Good review, I think a huge premium has been added to the price just for the name. I have a Huawei GT 2 pro that's not far short of the spec of that tag at tenth of the cost. Madness 🙂
Thank you KWJJ. Huawei is banned in USA.
It also doesn’t have the crown. There is a premium for Tag itself of course, you are getting a premium product for it.
@@DougFNJ Yes, it's a shame. Huawei does some great tech. We're all missing out sadly.
Don't get me wrong, what's not to love about the look of the Calbre E4, but anyone with sense would simply buy Garmin's Epix gen 2, Fenix 7 or a Apple series 7.
I was close to buying a Calibre E4 but I found out that you need your phone nearby to listen to music. You cannot save music to the watch to listen offline like you can with Garmin. And if you are out hiking or riding on trails, you better hope your phone doesn't die because the E4 will then lose it's GPS connectivity. Lastly, the battery life won't last more than 20 hours. You'd think that Tag Heuer would at least include solar charging for the price they're charging. It's a rip off if you ask me
Thanks for taking time for the comment Sea Capt. it all comes down to brand of course, and preferred platform. I have a black titanium Epix 2, it definitely looks very similar to this, you could even interchange the straps. 2 totally different experiences. Epix 2 is born and made for fitness. It is not intuitive, and if I didn’t enjoy learning new operating systems and how to work with it, I would have returned it. Apple Watch and WearOS, you could pick up with very little knowledge on how to work with them, and you’ll figure it out pretty fast and easy. Garmin, you definitely need the manual. The information it produces on activities is incredible! But it’s not an easy watch to work with.
I’m planning on doing a few videos with comparisons of the different platforms, and that will include a direct comparison of the E4 and Epix 2.
I personally love the Apple Watch, but it doesn’t look like a watch, and the battery life is the same as E4. It’s the best experience that works with the iPhone, but a different watch altogether.
Great input, thank you again.
@@DougFNJ thanks for the reply. I would love to see that comparison. I'm.sure the interface is as you say, more intuitive with the Calibre E4. The reason I almost bought it was because it doubled as a dress watch unlike the Apple which as you say, doesn't look like a watch at all. Nice one dude 👏
Nice watch
Shame about the battery life
Battery life should improve when they release WearOS3
@@DougFNJ should - hopefully maybe. Even so, for such an expensive smart watch, I would expect the feature list to be impressive. Super impressive even. I went with the Suunto Baro - maybe not the best, yet still excellent in terms of features, software and battery. Also considerably cheaper than the Tag.
1day battery? 😏
Full day. Put it on in the morning, charge before bed.
LOL, a battery that lasts all day for that price.
I will stick to my Garmin Tactix for half the price and 23 days of battery life.
We are in a great spot where we are now given a lot of choices. I have a Garmin Epix 2 on the way, I’m looking forward to comparing the 2.
got a garmin solar instinct great for all day rides using strava the watch hasnt been charged since i got it 3 months ago, i wouldnt pick a 2100 uk pounds one day use watch over a 199 uk pounds for the price of that tag you could have a decent second hand seamaster omega or a breitling endurance pro i cant understand why tag have brought an overpriced smart watch out when you can have garmins for a few 100 pounds that can outshine it in every way
@@megane230f1 Tag Connected is not for everyone. My Epix2 finally arrived. It’s a fantastic watch. The battery life is really impressive, it looks great, and nobody comes close the detailed fitness information it gives you after any activity. BUT, it’s also not for everyone. The operating system is not intuitive, there is a HUGE learning curve. The faces offer good information, but they are limited in the aesthetics. Mine is the black Titanium Sapphire edition which is plastic sandwiched with thin titanium covers. Garmin is more fitness oriented. Not everyone wants a smartwatch for the health and fitness characteristics.
Tag Connected is in my opinion the best alternative to the Apple Watch. It’s got a high quality build and design. The faces are outstanding, and it’s similar in fitness tracking as the Apple Watch. I’ll be doing a smartwatch comparison including the Apple Watch, the E4, and the Garmin. All great watches.

O my gosh it's too tight slack the band a bit 🥴😵💫🥴
😂😂😂
This comment made me laugh Ben 😂 I typically have me watches loose enough that I can fit more forefinger between the band and my wrist. Newer watches always look tighter until they shape to my wrist. Thanks for watching and the good laugh!
wow - they've almost caught up with Samsung and Huawei in terms of tech, battery life, appearance and functionality..... all they need to do now is reduce the cost by 90%....
Thanks for taking time to comment Tony. Huawei is sketchy on a high level of invasion of privacy, this is why you cannot buy them in USA. Samsung, like Apple is made for a mass market. It’s like the premium you pay for Hermes version of the Apple Watch. High end materials, the software developed, watch faces all come into the equation. It’s like comparing a Tag Carrera to Invicta.
@@DougFNJ 💯
Nice watch but I think the price is ridiculous you’re paying for the name there’s so many cheap smart watches that do the same thing just my opinion look around You’ll see what I mean
You are paying for the name, materials, quality, the software they’ve put together, the faces. This isn’t another plastic or aluminum cheap budget smartwatch. It’s more along the lines of a Carrera case and straps and instead of a movement, putting in a chip and display.
@@DougFNJ Yes I agree still pricey
your nails have fungus !!
Thanks for pointing that out?
I wish it was fungus, then I could get medicine to fix it. It was a deep split from many years ago that a dermatologist told me likely won’t heal.
