Just bought the E3 model from Tag directly as they have been heavily discounted as the E4 has been launched. I paid £1050 for the E3; compared to £1650 that is being asked for the similar E4 model. I scan live with lesser battery life and think the E3 looks 👍 too.
Man i thought about the same thing because the E3 has a good discount but the battery life is a deal breaker for me , i travel a lot and i need the battery to last me at least a full day .
Hello, congratulations for this quality review on this E4 model. I am currently hesitant to buy it in the 45mm version because it seems that the battery life does not exceed a day I am very hesitant given the very low autonomy of this E4 model and I wonder whether the E5 model will have much better autonomy. Do you have any information regarding the release of the E5 model and also if you think that the current bracelets of the E4 45 mm version could be compatible with the new version ? Sorry Google traduction (French😊) Thank you For Your Answer Ben
In my opinion it looks even better than the rubber strap of the E3. Its the same quality, but now with a bit of a structure on the inside, which will help with the grip and also maybe more with ventilation when its summer and the user's sweating.
OK, so honest opinion...........is the E4 45mm worth the extra bucks over the E3 45mm? They droipped the price on the E3 down to $1400 which is a killer deal compared to 2265 on the E4.
There are a few options in the settings menu that you can choose from. To save battery life you can set it to turn off the display after 5, 10 or 15 seconds. But you can also set it to "display always on" and then after 5, 10 or 15 seconds the display will turn into the "lume mode". Every watchface has a seconds design mode that will still show the time but some of the classic watchfaces will show green lume and the display brightness will turn off a bit. I set it to 15 seconds and turned off "display always on". For me the 15 seconds are enough to look at the time and also enjoy the watchface, after that it can turn off to save battery life.
What happens after 7-10 yrs and you’ve invested in a tag watch like this is it still going to be worth anything or even work? Or would you be better off buying a nice tag f1 which should at least last years longer. Not trying to be a hater just interested in general
My wife purchased the golf watch version for me at Christmas. Since we purchased the watch I have had numerous problems. I took it back to the Tag Heuer retailer in Palm Beach Gardens Mall a few times. They finally returned it to the Company and provided me a new one. They said they’ve had multiple issues with them. So you know, the golf courses in the Tag Heuer Golf App are very outdated. Some of the best courses in South Florida do not have the right course information….the Medalist Golf Club, Floridian Golf Club, Old Palm Golf Club, etc. have never been updated since they renovated. Some had renovations over 4 years ago. This watch technology is a huge disappointment!!!!
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Watch and I am thinking of upgrading to the Tag Heute Calibre E4 Black Edition. Does the E4 have Always-on display, too?
I really like both E3 and E4, but I have a comprehensive Apple environment (I have an Apple Watch) . Are these TAG smartwatches compatible and easy to connect to iPhone and other Apple devices?

Thank you for the review. Will the E3 be able to receive the update of the new Google Wear Os 3 when it becomes available or it will only be available for the E4? I don’t have the connected at this time and I am undecided between getting the E3 or E4. I will like to be able to get E3 since the updates were not that major but be able to continue getting the latest versions of the operating system. Thanks!
Nicely reviewed thanks. Is the battery capacity the same for all three models? 2020, 42MM and 45 MM? Is the 30% due to the 4100 chip only? Did you notice any difference in the AOD brightness ? It would be nice to know if any other options are coming like the bright black or is this it? These look great!
The Connected 2020 is using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 that is manufactured in 28nm, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ is produced in 12nm. This, together with some other tweaks (maybe sensors that need less energy) the battery life is better than with my Calibre E3, up to 30%, but of course also depends on the usage. About the 42mm version, it will have a lower battery life than the 45mm version. The battery life is always more than one day if you really just focus on the watch and don't track sport activities and turn it into planemode. WIth the 42mm you can track one hour of jogging and still get a full day and with the 45mm version you can also track one hour jogging and two hours walking or five hours golfing and still get the full day. But usually after sport you shower and in the meantime you could just charge the watch and it will be fully charged again, at least thats how I do it :) Another trick to save battery would be a mostly black watchface, as OLED would save energy with that.
The E3 straps fitted on the E4 without rubbing, but the E4 didn't fit the E3 at all. Also the E3 metal bracelet doesn't fit the E4, it snaps in, but the endlinks are moving a bit.
I've been receiving conflicting information. So is the E4 made in china or not. Sometimes I'm told it is, sometimes I'm told the processor is but the watch is manufactured and assembled in Switzerland.
Great video - it's much appreciated. So I too have an E3. I'm considering the upgrade. I already knew about the upgrade to hardware & processor. I was hoping to hear from you if you noticed a difference in response time. I have mine set to the 'always on' mode but there is always a bit of a lag when it goes from lume mode to 'on.' Is that lag time still the same or is there a noticeable improvement due to the faster processor? It would be nice to hear your thoughts on the difference that the processor makes to the daily wear of the watch (beyond that it allows for 30% more battery life). Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you!
