Hey, just found your channel. I'm a 3rd year biomedical science student at Ryerson also, and it's so awesome to see a UA-camr going down a similar journey. I will be binge watching a bunch of your videos, haha! Cheers!
Hey everyone, I'm really sorry but it seems as though some of your messages have been getting removed from my videos. I get notified that someone commented, but then nothing shows up below. I always try to answer everyone's questions, so if you haven't heard back from me in a week, just leave another comment and hopefully it will show up the second time. I'll try and contact UA-cam to see what's up.
Thank you sooo much! What you’re doing is truly really amazing! It’s so hard to find Canadian medical school advice. What would the awards and/or accomplishments sections include? Does it have to be just scholarships?
Thanks Jasleen! I'm glad it helps :) I don't think it has to be limited to scholarships (although I can't be 100% sure since I'm not an OMSAS rep). From my understanding, the section can include any types of awards even those not directly related to your school work. Community service awards, those received from competing in events / competitions, etc. Good luck!
Hi Gianluca... I really love your videos. Can I give you a suggestion for your videos.. try putting a low music or don't put music at all. Its very hard to concentrate on what you are saying. :) Just a feedback!
Thanks so much :D I've answered this many times on my other older videos but unfortunately I wasn't very good at editing when I first started UA-cam 😅 I'm sorry for the distraction, but I think you'll find that my newer videos have fixed the issues with music volume!
This video is amazing. Thank u so much for helping to us 💜 After ,f.e.,international student will graduate school in his own country, then he will move to Canada and instantly will path MCAT and then will apply to University? I mean after school graduation we will apply to medical school?:) Look forward to your answer:)
Thanks so much - I'm glad it could help! Unfortunately I'm not allowed to talk about the specifics of my application 😪 Check premed101 or the reddit forums for advice though! Some of them can be very helpful with that stuff
Thanks again, I definitely will :) Actually I had already made a video for Western. However, given the recent changes in their admission process regarding the ABS, I didn’t want to accidentally confuse anyone with my speculation. Contact them if you have questions though. The people I spoke with from Western (back when I applied) were very nice
If you apply in 4th year, all of the schools will not have access to your 4th year grades since applications are due in October and decisions are made by May for most schools. Your 4th year grades will be important if you need to apply again the following year 🤙 Similarly, my 5th year grades were not seen by schools at all since I was accepted while still completing my 5th year.
Does anyone or @NxtgenMd know if Queen's CGPA includes grades from summer and part-time fall\winter classes? And also, what do they mean by "we offer conditional admission based on a guarantee that you'll finish your degree and submit transcript by end of May of the application cycle" does that mean they call for an interview and assess your applications based on other requirements while holding GPA calculations? (for instance, if you're finishing your undergrad in 2 and half years and if you apply halfway before you finish, do they wait for you to finish while assessing your other application components and possibly giving interviews and on the condition that you finish your semesters after the application is closed and consistently send transcripts)....I don't know if anyone understands me, but I would really appreciate it if I can get some answers.
Hey John :) summer courses and part-time fall / winter courses are included in the cGPA calculations (at least according to their website). meds.queensu.ca/academics/undergraduate/prospective-students/frequently-asked-questions The conditional offer status applies to a few schools and essentially means that if you fail to meet their mandatory selection criteria, then they hold the right to remove your offer. In your example, if you were to get an interview after 2 years of study (currently in your 3r year) and then fail 1 or 2 courses (such that you have not completed a minimum of 30 half semester credits by the date of matriculation), then you would not be eligible to accept your offer. At least that is my understanding of it (I cannot speak directly on their behalf - so call them if you need a better explanation :) ) Hope this helps!
I'm going to complete my 12th grade this year exams are postponed due to corona.. i want to do mbbs in canada. Does it need bachelors course to get admission?
Hi there :) There is no Mbbs in Canada, just an MD degree. They all require you to have a minimum of a few years of studying at a university towards the completion of a bachelor's degree
Your two year GPA or cGPA just needs to meet the minimum GPA cutoff set for that particular application cycle. Then you progress to the MCAT step (these two steps are first done separately). So if your GPA is too low in that it's below the cutoff set for that particular year, then you wouldn't be able to progress to the MCAT review step - regardless of how high your MCAT score is. Only If all the cutoffs are met, then the candidates are sorted based on a combination of their GPA MCAT and ABS. When I was offered an interview, my 2 year GPA was a 3.78ish and my MCAT was a 517 (if this can offer some sort of relevant quantitative data). Hope this helps!
Bro all I can say is you're an absolute G for this, your channel is legit so helpful and I am so thankful I found it! Thanks so much man
Thanks so much dude! Glad you found it helpful 🤙 good luck with everything!

Hello, Thank you for all the information! I wonder which school and program did you do your premed, if you don't mind me asking!
I was Biomedical Science at Ryerson University :)

Hi there :) Please see my video on how to be a doctor in Canada for international students! Good luck
Hi, great video first of all! Did you only discuss one experience under each section for the ABS?

Don't you apply in fourth year? How would the school get your fourth year gpa for your application?

Please do western sometime soon!!
Going to try my best to get around to it for the upcoming cycle! :)
do you know around what GPA you need?
Sorry Laura, official stats are never released in this case. Everything I know about GPA I discussed in the video :)
what if you have a low GPA but a very high MCAT score ( we're talking a 99 percentile) ?? will you still be able to make it ?
Your two year GPA or cGPA just needs to meet the minimum GPA cutoff set for that particular application cycle. Then you progress to the MCAT step (these two steps are first done separately).
