First, his mother commits suicide. Second, he gets bullied and made fun of because of it. Third, his girlfriend, the love of his life, DIES. 4th, his friend died before his own eyes and he was blamed for his death. 5th, he had to fight to death with a maniac, and earned his first kill, which SERIOUSLY damages the morality, sanity, stability, and mental health of a man. 6th, the one person he felt was like a son to him abandons and hates him. Finally, he looses his entire franchise that he has worked on for years (he has nothing else going for him), and he ends up living the rest of his life in poverty. Kreese is the embodiment of BROKEN. He is more Broken than Johnny and Robby. Matter of fact, he is the MOST BROKEN person in the whole entire Cobra Kai universe. 8. Shawn is BOTH/INFLUENCED/BROKEN. He was influenced by bad friends in school a little bit. Upon that one of his “friends” tries to steal from his parents and almost attacks Kenny, so Shawn defends himself and his brother and unjustly lands himself in Juvie. We have no real childhood backstory on Shawn, so we can only conclude that this injustice and separation from his family led to the creation of a bully. He is also a very big dude and had to maintain a bully image to gain respect from his peers, as well as make sure no one messes with him or his brother.
