I had the same problem...Nose hit and broke the plywood inside as you display. I glued the plywood back, have not flown since. I will watch your video as I re-Repair the injury.
Thank you so much for your excellent Video...The Scout is basically a trainer, and I am sure you and I are knot the only Pilots to nose dive the Scout...This is a Video for the Masses..especialy the Scout Trainees and Pilots..
I had the same problem, me and my dad 3d printed a peace that mounted on the gear using the holes by the wheel and we taped the part on,no problems since
Now I crashed it into the ground and the wheel bent. I crashed it again and the nose gear servo jammed.
I just learned a good lesson, Fly with your back to the Sun if possible. Lost my little "Always in the car" plane Friday. It got into the sun, and I lost it!! Thanks for your Video!
Ohhh nooo… hope you can replace it soon.
awfully bizarre how mine took the exact same damage in the exact same way
It's a flaw of the design. If you check out my other videos, my third attempt repair seems to hold up the most.
Thanks for the instructions, I just broke mine the same way and was looking for ideas, this will help. I have an idea how the nose wheel assembly works, it looks like the top plate with 3 screws and bottom plate are independent, only being connected by the steering shaft. The top plate holds the steering arm in place for precise control from the servo, and the bottom plate is somehow attached to the foam fuselage to locate the wheel. I couldn't see any screws or other parts attaching the 2.
Look on my channel at my other repair attempts. I had to do a major repair that shows the inside better. My third repair attempt worked much better. Good luck!!
It's pretty clear to me that this model has a major design flaw in the nose wheel assembly. It's almost impossible to keep it in one piece if you fly at all. I have broken it three times now and have re-inforced it each time to no avail. I will try one more time but if it fails again, I will dissassemble it for parts and throw the rest away
My first flight today and it happen to my landing
Ohhh nooo.. I have three different attempts at repairing on here. Look at my third repair attempt it gives you the most information about what I figured out about this thing. Some people have some great suggestions in the comments. If you can, fiberglass reinforcement. Some people remove the landing gears and just belly land.
We have the same issue- we are complete noobs and we really mangled the nose wheel. We were searching for replacement wood part to beef up the cracked parts -- have you found any such replacement? Also, did the added weight of the poxy cause any issues when the plane was flying again?
Hey there Seth, I have totally trashed the front end a couple times. Watch one of my other videos titled “AeroScout Crash Repair” it shows how I rebuilt the plywood inside. I have not found the repair work messing with how it flies too much. Good luck on your repairs!
@@mitch_s thank you!

What happened to "how to repair"?
You've already repaired it!
Sorry it’s not a step by step guide. when I started to fix it I had not a clue as to how I was going to do it. Just thought I’d share what I came up with. I have a couple other videos of more repair attempts. Hope they help
