The engine in this has a long history. First sled to use this was the limited build 1975 Arctic Cat Jag 340. ( Yes The mass produced 1976 model has a Suzuki but the pilot build 1975 used a version of this Kawy.) That engine had points ignition and just a 30mm carb. People forget these little rectangular head 30hp Kawasaki FA engines. Other than the Deere Spitfire and the Kawy Drifters, at a show, you just don’t see them all that often. For years Dennis Kirk offered these as surplus engines cheap. I think by the mid 90s they stopped selling them. So nice to see the last Deere here. Deere had good ideas but the market did them in. I still think if someone offered a stripped sled like this for 3000 they’d sell.
Amazing machine and videos. I’ve watched them all!
Great videos. I have a trail fire lx 440 and a all green 400 but I forget the year possibly late 1970s
you have my dream sleds
👍👍👊
Very nice. Not many of them around.
Nice find.
Not to sure how much work you did to this sled by it look very clean

Beauty
The cdi that jd used were their downfall. Many a deere sleds we’re parked because they lose spark.
This is a beautiful sled
