"Paul Simon has heard Disturbed's cover of his Simon & Garfunkel classic "The Sound of Silence" - and he enjoyed it enough to reach out to singer David Draiman and tell him so."

That's so cool, I love when people come together and make wonderful music like this

Paul Simon even told David Draiman that this song is now his. He loved their version that much.

If you love this song, you HAVE to see them perform this live on the Late Night with Conan O'Brian show. Fact: David Draiman was so sick and had a high temperature that they made him sit for the performance, because they were worried he'd pass out if he stood. He had to be helped on and off the stage because of how sick he was. They wanted to use autotune, because of him being sick, which he utterly refused. That performance, is incredible and mind blowing when you know how sick he was.

Simon & Garfunkel were asking people to listen to the message. Disturbed's version is pissed off people didn't listen. At that time it was the monster of TV. Now it's cellphones and internet.

David Draiman is a classically trained vocalist. He is also very articulate and intelligent...check out his interview with YT channel "The Charismatic Voice"....Elizabeth Zharoff.

Disturbed is amazing! I've seen them live 7 times now since 2000. They do a cover every album. Their original music is much harder but so good if you're a rock fan like me! I'm 49 but i just saw them last year and they're just as good as they were 20+ years ago!

Paul Simon wrote this when he was 16 I believe.
Paul says this is Disturbed’s song now.
Down with the sickness should be your next listen. Do the lyric video so you can know what is being said. -Momma Bear!

Yes it's all true by Paul Simon, he got some really bad criticism going to South Africa during the apartheid, wow right from the start OMG, wow what a voice, what's a whole new twist on this, it's kind of eerie but it's beautiful at the same time, I was going to say it puts a chill up my spine, wow I have to go back I'm sorry this is just good, I'm just stunned wow what a powerful voice, definitely doing Justice to this, just omg omg, I love this rendition, wow, it's just so passionate so powerful I don't know what else to say, his voice is just so projecting, yes damn damn, so powerful so beautiful, wow, just wonderful, beautiful amazing, this is definitely going in my top five favorite thank you OMG thank you, heavy request for you how about Alena Jordan cover of "Suspicious Minds", I really think you'll like it.

I believe David was training to be a cantor, like many types of training it can produce a very different sound if you transfer it to another genre,.
It took me years to listen to it ,because Simon and Garfunkel was the original and I wrongly assumed 🤦🏻‍♀️ that they would ruin it. How wrong I was.
These two performances are perfect in message and interpretation for the time and the audiences.

Another cover that will make you cry is Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt originally by Nine Inch Nails. But if you are looking for something super crazy and fun Baby Metal a Japanese Kawaii Metal band (give me chocolate) and (pa pa ya)!!!
I'm a big ska fan (which is derived from reggae) you would enjoy Two-Tone & 2nd wave ska bands such as :
The Specials (Nelson Mandela about the South African anti-apartheid activist) or
Madness (one step beyond) their entire catalog is great
and 3rd wave 90's ska like:
Mighty Mighty Bosstones (Knock on wood) or
    Reel Big Fish (Sell Out).
Sorry, that was a lot. I get excited about suggesting new music.
