They're notorious for their poor handling of car paint.
I have a 2016 V8 Flying Spur and I agree that this car would not have left the factory in that condition, I have been round the Bentley Factory is Crewe and seen how much attention to detail they do for these vehicles before they leave the factory. Jason, great video and unbelievable what that paint looked liked. I hope you and your family (including Chicago Auto Pro family) are all healthy and safe.
I've seen this kind of thing a few times. It is truly appauling how a dealer can sell a car $100k, 200, 300 or more with such bad paint. I saw pics from one guy who detailed a brand new Ferrari 599 that looked like it had been through the car wash 100 times and dried with an old shop rag. WHY! We deal with these issues when customer bring their new ride here at Finest Auto Detailing,Malaysia. A 25km C200 coupe is full of swirl, scratches, even chips on the rear fender. But we managed to get it done.
That was very interesting to see. A brand new Bentley with such little mileage and it looked terrible before you guys got your hands on it. Looks amazing now and deservedly so. Just goes to show that dealerships do not spend the time or have the expertise to finish the car to the high standard it deserves. Well done guys. Keep up the good work.
I've worked at a Merc dealership and often the cars that came in open car carrier trailers would have paint chips, scratches and fade from transport. Maybe this is the same deal? Customer orders usually look better because they often came in closed car carrier trailers with a car cover on them.
I recently purchased a 2020 Toyota Highlander. I told the dealer not to touch it before I picked it up but they washed it anyways. Needless to say, I had 8 hours of paint correction to remove scratches and swirl marks on a day old vehicle. Disgusting.

Of course not. Probably got some damage during shipping, then at the dealership, then through the owner during these first 249 miles. This can happen if enough idiots are involved.
I have never seen Bentley Continental car with fade out paint, yet plenty of Honda’s. This should be identified doing pre delivery inspection. We call that a “Friday Car”.

It may be necessary to strip the protective coverings when the car first arrives at the dealership. An inspection is typically done to cars when they first arrive before the delivery truck leaves. Any shipping damage found is documented with the driver there which gives proof the damage occurred during shipping and not at the dealership. I know this occurs with other makes of vehicles since my friend does inspections at a dealership, I just have no idea on how Bentley does it.
