  • This video encapsulates the whole process from our decision to change from a multi-fuel stove to a diesel stove in one video! It takes into account the disposal of the old stove, redoing the fireplace surround, dealing with an unsuspected leak, not being able to reach Northampton and Lockgate Stoves and working round the issues that arise with the journey north!

Thank you for the video. It's helpful to see what others do on their boats-one of my main sources of learning. It's very well organised of you to put together all the stages into one video!

Thank you. There are individual videos that I put out along the way but felt it appreciate to show the whole story. Really glad you liked it and thank you for watching and commenting. 🙂

Before watching your video I was avoiding boats with diesel heaters. Now I'm actually looking out for them. Thank you for being so informative.

Fitted a wood stove in my bus years ago - partly because I had access to wood and coal galore. After one winter of hassle and misery I literally kicked it out of the door!
I have a Dutch Kabola diesel boiler stove that runs radiators. There's a Webasto hydronic on the same circuit for when I don't want to raise the chimney. I also have a Eberspacher 4kw forced air unit with its own tank at the back of the bus facing forward as a backup for quick heat.
You're buying diesel anyway, might as well benefit from the one efficient fuel rather than ALL the hassle of a smokey stove!
Ultimately I'd have a boat with a Refleks/back-boiler and rad's. And I would go for the bra$$ finish!
    _CHEERS!_
    HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I’ve never thought of a bus having a wood burner or diesel stove on it, only radiators but what you have outlined seems like a sound solution that covers every eventuality. I agree that it makes sense to have the one fuel multi-tasking for you, especially when you consider the effort and space that a multi-fuel stove needs. I do like the look of them but at our age we need to be having less physical work to do. The brass chimney does look great too. Thanks for watching and commenting and a Happy New Year to you too! 🙂

Thank you. I don't wish the cold weather to come too soon but at least we're prepared for when it does. Thank you for watching and commenting. 🙂

    Great video.
I sat with a cup of tea and biscuits and really enjoyed the video
And so glad you have finally had your stove installed.
It looks wonderful and with your new tiles as well.
I am sure the winters will be so much easier now.
    Well done.
Having just had my done as well.
I am looking forward to an easier cleaner and stress free winter as well.
I think my back will also agree 😊
    No more lugging coal about.
And i must say thank you.
    to you both
Because it was following your channel at the beginning of your journey to change to a diesel stove that gave me the idea of looking into and investing in the diesel conversion for myself.
I hope the overheating problem will be at an end 🤞
I am looking forward to next week's episode
    Gail

Thanks Gail. I hope it will be an easier winter for both of us. I am glad you enjoyed the video and like the fireplace we have now. I don’t get to spend much time on the boat to enjoy it all yet but hopefully soon. Hope you are recovering well. 🙂

You've both convinced me to switch too. 😅 Thankyou for sharing. Lovely setup U have and toasty evenings. By the way. How are you getting on with your reflex and how was winter?
    Best regards.

Thank you for watching and for your comment. The benefits of the Refleks are as we hoped on one level. There have been teething problems caused by our expectations, lack of knowledge and understanding. I will be putting an update video on this week, that will hopefully be of use to you. We do like our stove and it looks great! 🙂
