Great stream as always Devin. Looks like a great product that moves the hobby another step forward. Hopefully it will also push the competition to pick up the pace.
Awesome Very cool. Appears MT is essentially an improved version of a ReefBot. It sure wb interesting to hear what Derrick from ReefAutomation would’ve been asking Eric after his ‘stressful’ experiences with his ReefBots. Cheers and thanks Devin! 🍻🙏
Mastertronic + dosertronic + red sea trace color program and test kit sound like a killer combo. I also looking forward a lot more to the feedertronic than filtertronic. Auto increase coral food / phytoplankton / amino dose according to nutrient sound great.
Not knocking it,, just giving my opinion. Looks very similar to the reefbot. Only difference I see is the carisol, the leak detector and the double needle. Curious how long each test take? Amount or reagents each vial can hold and actually test. It looks promising and interesting. Hopefully it doesn't have the same issues the reefbot did. Great interview and content Devin
@@ReefDudes interesting. Like I said, I'm not knocking it. Feel like I got my foot in my mouth 🤣, having dealt with another product that had similar moving parts, made me compare it/ have opinions about it. Not knocking it again. I appreciate you setting up the interview and sharing this info with all of us interested. Look forward to see other hobbiest opinions and thoughts on this once they get a hands on. Looks interesting and I mean hey, who wouldn't want a device that could test other parameters other than the big 3
@@ReefDudes You know how much I respect your opinion and that alone would almost make me purchase the unit. I have the Trident system, still unpacked and not planning on connecting for another 2 to 3 months. I thought for a moment that I would switch. Will send a private message to continue discussion.
The need to change the needles so often is a deal breaker for me. Once a year and i would have considered it. The Ion director by ghl seems more appealing at this point.
Can you do a lengthy report to why you think GHL is more appealing? I have 4 set of KH Directors. And one KH Lab from Pacific Sun. I am a store owner, getting these were the idea to test best one and have it on all of my corals system. Shop still in renovation. So haven't really use any of them. Soon shop will be done... so I'm doing all research I can find... before settling with any brand. Also... Reason I'm here cuz Mastronic can test using normal test kits that can be get everywhere. I owned Trident before, the lack of reagents, the waits for reagents, only to get the batches that was leaked... that was the last straw I pulled on Neptune.
@@ReefDudes It would be cool to see how a mastertronic/dosetronic setup compares to a khd/iond/profilux setup. Think the GHL option would cost a little more money, but might have more capability.
The are shipping pre orders now. I know CoralVue sells the alkatronic/dosetronic so i suspect well see them there in the next month or so for the US market. then whom ever they distribute to
I just looked at the brick for my MT and it says 100-240v input so you would be good. worse case you swap the PC style power cord going to the brick but should some with the rights one for europe as i know they are being sold there.
Devin, I'm wondering about the tank water that sits in the tubing on all these auto testing units. If the intake line is 3-6 feet, that seems like a lot of water that needs to be removed before an accurate new test can be completed, or you would be testing the same water you did for the past 6 test. Is the correct, or am I missing something? Thanks for the education!

I'm not sure if people are aware but this is just like a ReefBot, so if you were waiting on this I do not understand why you wouldn't have gotten a ReefBot.
Brs won’t carry any focustronic products b/c they say they aren’t good enough for them to carry 😂😂 but they carry the trident, dos , etc etc which are extremely inferior to the dosetronic and alkatronic. I liked it when Brs wasn’t a bias product pushing site. The sponsorship from Brs on the opening credits is what triggered my response.
lol they sponsor me and my channel not the specific video content. Maybe they will in the future? who knows. Alkatronic has been very solid for me. I have been waiting to order a MT for ages now! super stoked thati can almost get one.
They should of called this something else and reserved “mastertronic” for an all in one unit combining the alk, “master” and dose .. These aee £1200 in uk atm
It does test alk/ca/mag/po4/no3 which is pretty awesome. 1299 usd so sounds about right. Given the all in one part, they already have separate devices to add on the features you want.
Oh my bad I thought it didn’t include alk... I was sold on the ion director from GHL but doesn’t do phosphate so nice to see a unit that covers all bases
Eric is letting all the cats out of the bag! 🐱 The Alkatronic has been amazing on my tank, can't wait for the Mastertronic!
hehe right? love it!

This is really good information! I look forward to buying my first FocusTronic machine 🤖... everything is out of stock right now lol 😆
Life changing for serious reefers! Quality seems superior to other competing devices on the market.

Answered all the questions I’ve been wondering about, thanks for the stream!

just loved the stream

Thanks! Similar concept of automating manual tritration. On big plus over the reefbot is more vials as Thais holds 12 vs 8

Does your nitrate and phosphate test accurately. Or the numbers match the hanna checkers ?
Yes next we want tracetronic 😍😅😅
awesome! great video! looking fwd to seeing it in action!
I'm gonna sell my trident as soon as I get my hands on one of these
After a while (couple months) will the salt levels change with all the salt water coming out and only RO water topping it up? Thanks
Probably doing icp each quarter would be enough to give you an insight to its reliability in testing?
It wild be a good spot check
Excellent video. Will monitor their success and may switch to them in the future
I have been using the alkatronic for years and it’s been been solid. I have high hopes for this guy!

This question is late, I’m just wondering about the sample water that stays in the hose are we testing yesterday water today?
It emptied the cup and re fills it with fresh water before a test to clear it out
@@ReefDudes that’s nice to know, thanks 👍
will this product have total control over dosing like the GHL kh director/ion director? Or is it primarily just for testing.
This jsit tests but if you have a doseteonic it Will talk to it and can dial your dosing up or down based off the test results

It actually drains the lines after Each test! (which is why it’s important not to modify the length of the lines)
Loved the information
How much is it?? Loved this stream
They are 1299
NEED WANT lol will do all that my two reefbots do in a much more compact device !!
Yea the 12 vials is great! Love how it can test everything i would care about all in one!
