thanks for this video! No big acts of discernment from me yet, but I've found this form of consecrated life to be interesting, so glad to see women fulfilling it joyfully!
I wish I can be a consecrated virgin Unfurtunetly 😭 SAINT GORRETI,ANGES JOAN AND PHILOMENA ARE ALL CALLED VIRGINS I need a saint who literally got raped, lost her hymen. Bear offspring after abuse. She is a literal victim of rape! Like saint Francis who became poor, so called patron of the poor. Unfurtunetly Some woman since their childhood Became Victim of sexual abuse and incest 😭 I wonder what does Jesus thinks to girls and children victims or sexual abuse Then results children by rape And diseases, worst disability by verbal abuses 😭🥺✨But I wonder can a young girl who was a victim of rape or incest and have child/Ren after rape, Can be a bride of Christ?😭🥺 May God grand my novena That the Catholic church one day have a saint Who was a victim of female molestation. Or a saint who was a victim of rape then results offspring after it. May God have mercy to us survivors.. Or maybe I one day I'll be a saint for children victim of sexual assaults. I shall not allowed the universal church didn't have a holy victim like me 😭😇
Some may feel that they wouldn't respond well to the restricted nature of monastic life. Consecrated life is Christ-focused life, and if the deprivation of things like complete freedom to see loved ones, engage in hobbies, live independently, etc would cause someone to feel suffocated or unhappy, then being a nun probably wouldn't be the best option. Their focus would be liable to divert away from Christ. Everyone's different. These women seem to be thriving in their vocations.
But Christ is one man. How can he be able to marry multiple women referred to as nuns and fraternas around the world? How can he take care of every woman's needs and soul when even those of us who don't live religious lives we need him and ask him for help?
The Church is one so all those in it are the one Bride of Christ. The individuals are no more distinct from one another than a hand and a foot of any other marrying person.
Christ is not limited by time or space, since he is God, so the normal limits of an ordinary human man do not apply to him. also, marriage on earth is there for us as a symbol for our union with God in heaven, so technically, everyone in heaven is "married" to God.
Because he is God. He can give Himself completely and totally to each woman who gives herself to Him. He is a man who also happens to be God. He surpasses a merely human spouse in every way.

@@lighthouse_23_ Jesus was celibate. The Consecration of Virgins goes back to the earliest days of Christianity. In fact, the deacon Phillip had 3 daughters who were consecrated virgins. Are you saying you are a better Christian than St. Phillip? I am speaking from personal experience. Our Lord chooses some people to be celibate and not to marry. I am one of those people. And I can assure you, for those select few that are called to celibacy, Jesus is enough for us.
consecrated virgins are brides of Christ. men can't be brides because, well, they're men. a man gives his life fully to God by becoming a priest, deacon, etc, and by doing so, "marries" the Church herself
@Pro Justice, for man in general it is not good to be alone. But for some, like Elijah, it is best to be alone. The Apostle Paul even said that he wished everyone was unmarried like himself. That didn't mean that he disrespected marriage but rather that he saw how it restricted one's freedoms.
@Pro Justice we're made for community because we're made for God. our goal is to be with God in heaven. a consecrated virgin is not alone because she lives her union with God here on earth.
This is one of the best videos on the matter that I’ve heard so far. So inspiring. I would love to hear an update about these two ladies ❤

Why not enter life as a Nun?

Good women, but the first one is hard to understand!
You may still qualify if you didn’t lose it by choice.
But Christ is one man. How can he be able to marry multiple women referred to as nuns and fraternas around the world? How can he take care of every woman's needs and soul when even those of us who don't live religious lives we need him and ask him for help?

Why is this option only open to women? Is it because young men would have been sent to die at war historically?
consecrated virgins are brides of Christ. men can't be brides because, well, they're men. a man gives his life fully to God by becoming a priest, deacon, etc, and by doing so, "marries" the Church herself
There are male equivalents called consecrated hermits. Men can also be in clergy or monks
Priesthood
Do you have house in India?
@@alliemae26yea they have many more options than us women sadly… makes me feel like God favored men over women.
why dont u become a regular nun?
Because God did not call her there? That seems like a good enough reason to me 🙂
