  • Beth Moen is, without doubt, one of the world's most recognised woodcarvers there is. She has been working with her hands for more than 35 years and is now the lead teacher in woodworking at Sätergläntans college in Dalarna. This portrait was made in her workshop in 2021.
Beth is best known for her beautifully carved bowls that are often very large and impressive. With her long experience in wood crafts, Beth is a mine of knowledge when we develop our knives. Her views on our craft knives generally help us to continuously improve our products to be as user-friendly as possible.

I speak Swedish, so I will translate for you.
"I was a high level manager at the Moraniv Companion production line. They demoted me after they found a handful of flashing from the rubber handles that hadn't been swept up at the base of one of the chairs. Now I am stuck in this cottage 70 hours a week struggling with these damn spoons. To top that, they upped my quota to 50 spoons per day. They even have these fat American tourists come around to gawk at me through the bars on the window! I had a gravy job at Fallkniven all lined up, when my job here sh*t the bed. Who the Hell doesn't have access to a spoon?! I think they're just trying to manage me out."

    Excellent .
The wood carving from Sweden reminds me a bit of the tv series Emil.
    In the seventies..
