I got started in RC about 38 years ago. Nothing like this existed. These little planes make it so easy and affordable for anyone to get into real RC flying now. I wish they had been around when I started.
Back in the day, I think late 60s, my bro got a Cox's Gloplug control line airplane for xmas, I think it was a Spitfire. He had many hours of frustration trying to get the engine going and then when he did he found flying it was next to impossible. It spent many years packed up in the box it came in just 3 days after xmas. These planes are just amazing, I bet he would have really appreciated one of these instead .
True story....when I was a lad, I had one similar to this with a recharged battery, but you could not shut it off manually, it just ran for about four minutes and the fun was over when the battery died. One particularly windy day, it got out of range and flew away into the sunset. As I stand there crying like a baby, five minutes later it comes gliding back to me, landing maybe 30 yards away. I never let it get out of range again, still have it but never fly it. More of a relic and a memory now.
I have the Mustang version but they fly very well in the wind and honestly are a bit more fun in the wind cause you can go both faster and slower depending on direction 😂
yea what i like about these eachine mini warbirds . i.e the su corsair. the p51 and the mini trojan. they ALL bind to the same stock controller so if your out with all 3 you only need to take one controller with you. handy to know this, nice job.
I have only flown the 400mm Corsair but have watched a ton of youtube videos of people flying these planes and bigger planes. It honestly seems like people are having a lot more fun flying these 400mm planes than the bigger ones.
Yeah, I checked the price and thats pretty dang crazy. Even I can't find any reason why a person who has any interest in trying flying wouldn't take a shot with this.
Bamboo strips, banana oil and the tissue paper from a box my new shoes came in. We used what we had available and they flew pretty well, not great but they did fly.
I noticed mines a bi faster than my mustang and a bit less manoeuvrable. More of a dive bomber type plane, still good fun none the less and flys inverted much better than the mustang.
I've flown rc planes for years and for certain these planes are a great way to get into it, for not much money and a plane that looks good. I bought them just to have fun in my front yard. My big planes require so much more space so these are worthy any day fliers. They take a beating too, but be sure to get extra props of you do go for it. And once you have trained your brain, jumping to a bigger plane with a gyro is easier than just diving in. I'm not selling them, I just have some friends who keep saying the same thing. If you're inclined, this is a great place to start. Keep in mind the capabilities of the electronics get so much better with the bigger planes. But the price tag goes up too, still cheaper than it was 20 years ago!
And a Mosquito - with two engines! Of course the Spitfire would have to be with the elliptical wings - not the cut off versions in the final marks (without the Merlin).
Brill review.. I've been having an absolute blast with my sonic sports cub 500. RTF... I've just checked with my local RC supplier. and just ordered the F4U. ha..I can see myself getting the full collection.. Thank you so much for your great informative videos.. onwards and upwards... kind regards Dave..😁
You're welcome Dave. All the mini aircraft by Eachine are good. The P-51 is my favourite. Slightly quicker, very distinctive in the air and almost impossible to break! Cheers and good luck - Dom (Essential RC)
I have to get one of these to complement my son's 2800mm span 25kg Corsair. We sprayed it the exact same colour scheme and 167 aircraft number. It's VF84 USS Bunker Hill 1945
I let my friends fly my Mustang, each of them have limited to no flying experience. Needless to say, all of them ordered a Corsair as soon as they were done with their flight.
These little birds are beyond awesome. I started rc flying when I was 10 or 11 and quit flying when I was like 14 or so I think. I spend more and more time playing video games and less time being outdoors. I love flight sims and also spend a lot of time flying rc sims. But now that I have my own money I wanted to get back into the hobby and give the mustang a chance. Without any real 4 channel flight experience, I had my maiden flight on the same day the plane arrived and it was a windy day. I was surprised by how easy it was to actually get, and keep it in the air. But beginners mode is essential for at least the first few take offs.....I soon switched to mid mode and on the second day I turned off the gyro. Doing manual rolls, flips, flying inverted....all on the single day of flying after a pause of around 7 years and less experience at all. I dont want to brag, just want to tell how awesome and beginner friendly this little plane is. I´m kinda scared to switch to bigger models because the p51d and f4u are so easy to fly that I might overestimate my abilites xD
@@MrHamsterworld Hey ! I´m still flying both of them and ordered a third T28 Trojan from the same company. I´d say all 3 of those warbirds have the same flight abilities so they are equally good. I personally prefer flying the corsair, but just for the looks. The Mustang and Trojan are equally as good. And btw the planes are extremely durable. I had a lot of crashes and some were really hard nose down into concrete, but the planes are still flying like when they were new and nothing needed repair.
@@MrHamsterworld Have fun with it, the corsair is really beautiful. Just be careful if you fly it in the evening when the sun sets and the sky turns a darker blue. The blue color of the corsair will blend in with the dark blue sky and it will be hard to see the plane. So when I want to fly very high (they can fly pretty high) i do it when it is cloudy because you see the plane better under grey clouds.
It's not the best plane for beginner because it has low wing but it's not bad either. If you use it in Beginner mode you would learn quickly. Yes, it comes with the transmitter. You just need 4 x AA batteries to put in the transmitter.
I've got the P-51 and LOVE it !... perfect for my grandkids !... I really hope to pick this one up and that they come out with a spitfire model !... :D
I have received my corsair 2 days ago. today was the maiden flight, no wind. I also have the Mustang of this line. The Mustang was my first rc plane and I have bought it after having seen all the videos. Its a perfect beginner plane and I am stepping up slowly from Mid- mode to Expert. Of course the Transmitter has a "cheap" feeling and in expert mode the plane is very touchy, but i get used to it. Mid Mode allows loops and rolls coming out of a loop. coming out of a loop on top allows some nice inverted flying for a short time. I think these are really nice planes. I have cut off the rear wheel and dont use landing gear. Handling and looks are very beautiful. Flying time is always over 10 Minutes and landings are very easy, by switching off throttle and pulling elevator short before touching down. Visibility and orientation of the Mustang is much better, because of its paint scheme. Now a short review of the Corsair.: I got it from the preorder batch for 64 Euro including shipping (3 batteries). Waiting time was pretty long. Its a nice little plane, but paint is not very durable, therefore i have repainted the yellow part with revell color. On the maiden flight i noticed, that it is faster than the Mustang and very agile. In mid mode its possible to perform 2 full rolls upwards, when i pull the elevator from a dive. its very beautiful. quick turns are possible with both planes in mid mode, when pulling elevator in addition to aileron. on my Corsair I noticed, that elevator was moving a bit slow. I disengaged the pushrod and noticed, that the hinge on the elevator was very stiff. So I was just bending it by hand up and down several times. Now everything works fine. Both planes level perfectly in beginner and mid mode, but after switching in expert mode, i noticed, that the corsair was dragging upwards and a little to the right, which i have corrected by bending the rods a bit.My conclusion: a lot of fun for little money. Nice flight time with a battery. After getting used to it, you can fly them almost anywhere. I would love, if eachine was building a spitfire and a Focke Wulff. The upcoming Trojan would not be my favourite. Thanks to all for uploading videos. This is very useful for potential buyers .As I have bought the Volantex 750mm Mustang also (the reviews were pretty promising.), I was pretty much disappointed from the quality of this plane (Nose cone and 4 Blade propeller are sh.. )Foam on the right aileron was very soft and bent. In flight plane was drifting to the right, even though that I have corrected all surfaces. I noticed later, that the receiver, that is held by adhesive tape, was not installed level, so the gyro was always trying to balance that, which resulted in dragging the plane to the right.
Thank you. By the way, maybe you could add the info for the 750mm Volantex Mustang, that it is identical with the ARES Mustang (Obsession in blue and yellow colors).Replacement 4 blade spinners and cowlings, that break easily, are still available,as well as some other parts, that will fit the Volantex Mustang . www.elitemodelsonline.co.uk/Aircraft/Aircraft-Spares/Electric-Aircraft-Spares/Ares/P51D-Mustang-350
On the basis of your review I have bought one of these - hopefully through your affiliate Banggood link (think I did it properly). My first flight yesterday was interesting. I misread the marking on the controller and put it into expert mode instead of beginner. (Thought the down arrow meant up etc) My first flight lasted about 10 seconds which in hindsight was pretty good. The field I was in is mostly sand, which is not good for nose dives. Sand got into the engine bay and the movement was a bit crunchy for a while. I’m not sure whether I lost foam in a crash, but the gearbox is now visible just under the prop, which allowed more sand it - a bit of tape should fix that. My 4th flight resulted in a broken prop - sand is a bit too restrictive. So new prop and moved to a park with grass. After about four more crashes I twigged two things - I was able to do vertical and inverted flight (unintentionally) - and realised I probably wasn’t in beginner mode. When I flicked to what I thought was expert, I could feel the gyro and the penny dropped. Now in beginner mode I had several successful flights, before parking it in a tree with dark green leaves. The dark blue Corsair could be a stealth fighter if it could fly in dark green leaves. I was 3 feet from it before I could see it. Luckily I could keep hitting the motor to give me an audio direction. Thanks for the video. I’ve had fun. Today is a hangar day - 15-20kmh winds would make it way too exciting. Even in yesterday’s 0-5kmh winds, the difference in lift into and with the wind is substantial. (I get what the F1 drivers experience with downforce differences)
Thanks for feedback Steve. Do not fly electric prop planes on the beach. Sand will get into the electric motor windings/bearings and break it very easily. Sorry to hear you used Expert mode first. Even I find this difficult. Stick to the other modes and have fun ! Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)
iv just tried putting my 1s never rc plane, waited 2 year one and while was watching your review I bent the batter peon and now irt broke, just got today for my birthday
The F4U Corsair is arriving tomorrow, got a great deal by buying from the first batch in pre-order. I can't wait to fly it, hopefully it will be as good or better than my Mini P-51D
These mini’s make great fun little fpv planes for park flying! Just mount a mini AIO fpv cam" and these mini’s are a blast to cruise at park, flying under soccer net frames, and such! Much better planes then horizon hobby mini’s in my opinion. Much stronger build, same safe tech, much cheaper price, don’t break near as easy as HH. Love your reviews, but my bedroom is getting to small for my fleet! Lol!
With the new FAA rules...if this plane is under 249g...then this may be what I will be using to fly in the future. Plus, I can really fly this plane anywhere given its size. I bought the P-51 but haven't taken it out yet.
Will they be bring out the 700 mm version like they did with the P51 with a 4 bladed propeller looks more scale and flies alot better then the 400mm version with it wizzzzy 2 bladed propeller
Is there are difference in the flying capabilities between this Corsair and the P51? In full scale I though the Mustang was a much faster plane but the design of the Corsair allowed it to be much more manoeuvrable at lower speeds. I gather the dropped wing was because it used a bigger prop and they needed clearance for the landing gear (not sure if that is true).
@@EssentialRC brilliant.seems like a really great deal.. thank u for the feed back. Hope they do a spitfire to complete the series of old war birds.that be epic. Thanks Dom
@@Ken_Dalton I have been telling them for months a Spitfire would sell really really well. On the Corsair box I can see the next one coming is a T-28 Trojan. Let's hope for a Spitfire after that !
Great review... thanks the reviews are really appreciated and informative... I'm definitely going to get myself one in the new year.. kind regards Dave..
Good to hear Dave. All these Eachine ready to fly warbirds are fantastic. Not a lot of difference between them. Just select one based on looks! P-51 and Corsair def my favourites.

Annoyingly no. After the success of the Eachine P-51 I did tell them a Mini Spitfire would sell like proverbial hot cakes...but they've not done it yet. Like you I wish they would. I will contact them again. Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)
Would you say this one handles wind better than the Mustang? With the P51 I find it's quite willing too let the nose be pushed aside in a breeze. The Sports Cub doesn't have this as much, at least not for me.
Yeah, I think so. I was a lot of fun to just slow it up and see how stable it was into the mild breeze. The P-51 was fairly good at that but the larger wing on the Corsair makes it even more stable.
@@EssentialRC The P51 can suddenly drop a wing if you get too slow. Based upon your video, it seems the Corsair has a wider flight envelope, being able to fly slower, yet remain stable, with slightly higher top speed too. Let's hope the next one is a Spitfire, and then brushless direct drive, without adding too much weight.
Amazing video. I am new to this hobby and I got the same plane as my first plane. May I ask how should I store the battery since I may not use it for a lomg time. Should I fully charge it before storing or what? Thanks in advanced!
@@butkorosu8853 No. You can store them together but recommend you store them outside in a metal container that is lined with thin foam material. I use old ammunition boxes but I do have some very big lipo batteries. The lipos you are talking about are small so maybe just use a tin or similar.
They have the P51 and a f22 as well. Are all 3 beginner ones? I’m brand new to hobby and looking at one of these for my first plane. Which one or all 3 good? F22 is the coolest looking but feel may not be the easiest to fly?
I can't no. They come in the plane. This is a ready to fly product. Comes with the transmitter, plane, flight battery and charger. Put AA batteries in the transmitter and go fly.
@@EssentialRC ok thanks for the rapid response. is this Eachine the same as Volantex? they seems to have different prices for the same plane. I hope you can comment on this. thanks again!!
Does this plane have aileron controls? It sure looks like it, but the photos of the transmitter show only elevator and rudder. Also the aerobatic button isn't shown in the photos. If this is supposed to be like the mini P51, which has ailerons, why the difference?
@@EssentialRC Thx. Finally figured this out. All three have same features, the P51, Corsair, Trojan. Banggood has photos of transmitter for another plane for the last two. Not the one that comes with it, probably same transmitter for all three. Too bad they don't sell just the planes, and use transmitter from the first for all three.
My mini Corsair is having an issue with the motor shutting off mid flight. Also sometimes on initial battery connection and power up the throttle seems to cross talking with the ailerons. Anybody else have this problem? Or know of a fix?
But do they come under the new drone laws ? are they over regulated just like all the other RC aircraft these days, 5 or 6 years ago I would not have thought anything about that, but now you have to have the proper license to fly any RC aircraft...Crazy !!!!!

Slow flight characteristics are better without doubt. No surprise with the wing shape and larger area. You'll enjoy it!
Have you opened up the transmitter yet. I would like to no if there is enough wire on the gimbals to swap it to mode 1. I have enjoyed all your vids.
I got one its a sealed unit you would need a hot knife to get inside?
this is the best RC plane with a good price
These mini’s make great fun little fpv planes for park flying! Just mount a mini AIO fpv cam" and these mini’s are a blast to cruise at park, flying under soccer net frames, and such! Much better planes then horizon hobby mini’s in my opinion. Much stronger build, same safe tech, much cheaper price, don’t break near as easy as HH. Love your reviews, but my bedroom is getting to small for my fleet! Lol!
Thanks for another fun, informative video. The Corsair looks like great fun.
With the new FAA rules...if this plane is under 249g...then this may be what I will be using to fly in the future. Plus, I can really fly this plane anywhere given its size. I bought the P-51 but haven't taken it out yet.
Cool video!😀
Thanks! 😁
Is this a true gyro, in that it will autocorrect in the wind?
I made one of those about that size out of a rubber-band powered kit almost 20 years ago!
Even if. It cost a little more because of having 2 motors make the P-38.
Que? 😂 You mean it's better or worse. Don't understand the comparison.
That's really fun to fly/ pilot! Battery is what, 8 minutes flight each?
Very cool Dom , nice little model and great price for a beginner . All the best mate ..............
Thanks, you too!
I'll get one of these when they launch the Spitfire and the Me109
Bro I have the p51
Spitfire would be great. FW190 and Bf109 would wrap up the series nicely.
Me 262 with pushers.
A6M Zero and Yak-9 would rock too!
The spitfire has been launched and is available
Will they be bring out the 700 mm version like they did with the P51 with a 4 bladed propeller looks more scale and flies alot better then the 400mm version with it wizzzzy 2 bladed propeller
this is soo fun
Thank u i was planning to get one
All the Eachine warbirds are brilliant. I like the P-51 the best.
Good show mate!!!🍻 😋 👍
Could you do a flight test video for a seaplane
Yes. Intending to get somewhere with water this week so will do our best to do exactly that. Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)
Which model do you recommend? Which one is the best in your opinion?
This Corsair is my favourite and best for beginners. Its very stable.
@@EssentialRC Thanks!
U did bad in mid-mode.
How much?
Is there are difference in the flying capabilities between this Corsair and the P51?
In full scale I though the Mustang was a much faster plane but the design of the Corsair allowed it to be much more manoeuvrable at lower speeds. I gather the dropped wing was because it used a bigger prop and they needed clearance for the landing gear (not sure if that is true).
Corsair is slightly more stable at slow speed.
With the P51 mustang can I ask u if I get the control transmitter with the plane,or is that separate purchase? These little planes are so cool
Yes, you get the transmitter. You just need 4 x AA batteries to put in it. Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)
It would be so nice if the next warbird is the spitfire
Believe me...I've told them that...several times
Bellissimo Corsair micro
Great review... thanks the reviews are really appreciated and informative... I'm definitely going to get myself one in the new year.. kind regards Dave..
Good to hear Dave. All these Eachine ready to fly warbirds are fantastic. Not a lot of difference between them. Just select one based on looks! P-51 and Corsair def my favourites.
@@EssentialRC Thank you again... I've been so enjoying flying my 1st RC plane. the brill omp T720... the eachine RTFs will be a great stepping stone for me without breaking the bank 😁.. after I've honed my skills a bit more.. I will join our local RC flying club and get myself a large trainer..poss something like a Seagull Arising Star V2 40-46.. and thanks to Essential RC. us newbies get all the info without the fuss... keep safe all. kind regards Dave...
Looks like another hit with the Micro Warbirds from Eachine. I have one on the way ;-) See you in the Air!
Cool. It's a must have!
Fantastic value!
It really is!
great video, thanks :)
do they have an equivalent Spitfire? (under 250g)
thanks again
Annoyingly no. After the success of the Eachine P-51 I did tell them a Mini Spitfire would sell like proverbial hot cakes...but they've not done it yet. Like you I wish they would. I will contact them again. Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)
@@EssentialRC thanks for trying (the P51 and this are both US planes, I cant understand why 2 US planes, but not a UK plane, but hey ho)
@@EssentialRC Yes that would envoke many a man to part with their cash to fly a spitfire.
Yes they do now
Beautiful is Corsair
I think so too!
Which is a better flyer for a first plane? Mustang or Corsair?
I think the Corsair is more stable especially at low speed. Go for that
@@EssentialRC Thanks! ✈
I find it strange there is a tail wheel, but no undercarriage. Nice model in any case.
Fixed landing gear is included if you want to use it. Personally I prefer to hand launch and not have it dangling down the whole flight.
Congratulations on your work It would be great if there were also at the same price the Japanese zero and the German meserrmits
Great suggestion!
There are now
Would you say this one handles wind better than the Mustang?
Man want one now to enter the hobby how much does it cost and any tips?
Sorry, but that gull wing dihederal is so unscale, it doesn't even look like an F4-u. I realize it's very small, but still...
I’d like to see a hawker hurricane in this size.
What are the slowdowns where it looks like you're floating caused by? Is that the wind catching the plane the wrong way?
Yes. There was a nice wind so I was playing with it to demonstrate how slow this F4U Corsair can fly.
@@EssentialRC thanks!
Amazing video. I am new to this hobby and I got the same plane as my first plane. May I ask how should I store the battery since I may not use it for a lomg time. Should I fully charge it before storing or what? Thanks in advanced!
You should not store it at full charge. Best idea is to fly the Corsair for 5 to 6 minutes. That should get it close to the best voltage for storage.
@@EssentialRC Thanks for your advice! May I also ask, is it dangerous to store multiple lipo batteries in the same storage touching each other?
@@butkorosu8853 No. You can store them together but recommend you store them outside in a metal container that is lined with thin foam material. I use old ammunition boxes but I do have some very big lipo batteries. The lipos you are talking about are small so maybe just use a tin or similar.
@@EssentialRC Okay, thank you very much.
@@EssentialRC I also wanna ask, can I plug in a different lipo battery in this plane with a different mAh?
They have the P51 and a f22 as well. Are all 3 beginner ones? I’m brand new to hobby and looking at one of these for my first plane. Which one or all 3 good? F22 is the coolest looking but feel may not be the easiest to fly?
P51 yes, F22 hmmm, bit more challenging
Cool thank you. Hey went to order one but the coupon code doesn’t work?
NIce plane and video, i am curious about the 1.3grams servos. Can you shared the part number for the 1.3 grams servos? Thanks
@@alexherrera3918 Yeah...exactly same F4U. They did same with P-51 Mustang but the scheme was a little different.
@@EssentialRC ok thanks.Do you have any preference on where to buy it, from Eachine of Volatex? or the cheapest would be the better option?
Thanks !!
@@alexherrera3918 Best to buy it here bit.ly/eachineMiniF4UCorsair
how do you learn to fly the plane when the controls reverse when flying towards you vs away from you?
Practice. Simple as that. You just have to train your brain. Doesn't take too long for it to become instinctive.
Then turn the other way. Don't look at it.
So which would you say is better the p51 by voltanex or the p51 by the same company that made this corsair
Both good. More down to personal taste I think. The Corsair is more stable at slower speed but not by much.
Does this plane have aileron controls? It sure looks like it, but the photos of the transmitter show only elevator and rudder. Also the aerobatic button isn't shown in the photos. If this is supposed to be like the mini P51, which has ailerons, why the difference?
Yes. It has ailerons. It has everything the P-51 has. No difference other than its a Corsair.
The Corsair fly like the Mustang?
Not a lot different if at all.
Can you fly these in 5he rain
My mini Corsair is having an issue with the motor shutting off mid flight. Also sometimes on initial battery connection and power up the throttle seems to cross talking with the ailerons. Anybody else have this problem? Or know of a fix?
Time for FPV! :)
Yes!! That's my plan ;)
But do they come under the new drone laws ? are they over regulated just like all the other RC aircraft these days, 5 or 6 years ago I would not have thought anything about that, but now you have to have the proper license to fly any RC aircraft...Crazy !!!!!
Under 250g weight so no.
Mustang or Corsair, very hard to choice.
Corsair dude
Need a Spitfire on this platform
my propeller stopped moving what could that be? litterly just got it for my first ever plane took about 4 crashes then just stopped moving the prop
Battery is dead
Nice video 👍 how long does the battery last for ?
5 to 7 minutes
@@EssentialRC thanks man 👍👍
I got mine in the post 2 hours ago! 20% off - Dammit! :P
got mine 50% off then a $20 coupon on top of that.. SWEET!!!!
BlkiceMike excuse me h o w what was the total cost?
Anyone know how long the battery lasts?
All these mini warbirds fly for nearly 10 minutes on one of those batteries. Long enough for concentration !
Are RC aircraft affected by drone regulations?
Not below 250g weight, no.
Mine is on its way :)
Cool. You'll enjoy it !
Does it have extra batteries and a multi battery charger??❓❓
You can buy it with 2 or 3 batteries. That's an option on the product page. The USB charge lead it comes with will only charge 1 battery at a time.
Great 👍
Is it fast . . .
Mode 1 possible?
Give me the Transmitter a Signal when the batteries are Low from the Airplane ?
Yes, I think so but I did not use it. It is not important.
@@EssentialRC okay Thanks ^^
Those landings were a little dodgy 😁
he plane does not look like a F4U . Not enough drop on the wings and the wings for the Navy were hinged at the point where the wings leveled off.
