This was something I did way back in 2018 for the now defunct Human Head Studios, as placeholder dialogue in anticipation of the original actor Lee Ernst reprising his role in the 2019 release. He did, and then, it seems Mr. Ernst couldn't reprise the role for the new 2.0 release, so Yong Yea took up the role... so yeah... pretty confusing.
Honestly, no. I don't have any formal vocal training. There are certain manipulation techniques I've learned, like raising your chin to get a raspier sound, and record immediately after waking up to get a huskier voice, but no specific exercises. I find getting physically involved in some roles helps. I think ideas are more important than all that though. If you have a clear inspiration for how to play a role, everything else will follow on from that. Loki, for instance, I played like Hamill's Joker but with the sort of sneering elitism you might find in the British aristocracy. The good thing about voice acting (not in live recordings of course) is you can kinda suck on most takes, as long as you nail one or two of them!
