- Gordon Lightfoot was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) in 2003.
Lightfoot was presented with his award by recording artist Tom Cochrane at the 2003 CSHF Induction Ceremony.

Tom Cochrane gave an absolutely beautiful and very moving induction speech.Everything he said hit home. What a great songwriter Gordon was, and what a very humble man as well. RIP
05/02/2023 and Gordon Lightfoot passed away yesterday at the age of 84 and I never got the chance to hear him perform live, in person. I'm genuinely heartbroken but this was a very touching tribute to watch on such a sad day.
