Like it or not California carries the entire country at a rate that Texas could barely manage to compete with. Also best diversity in climates, people, and natural scenery. Best food, amazing beaches, always something to do, sanctuary for immigrants, lgbt, and women seeking reproductive care, world class universities, best wine and many other things.
