For anyone wondering.... On most hp laptops, pavilion included, enter the system BIOS at startup and navigate to hardware, keyboard backlight, and change the settings for backlight timeout as you wish. You may want to enter "safe startup" before trying this if you aren't sure of your BIOS navigating skills. 👍💜 you have to do this because that is the only way on hp laptops to change backlight timeout settings, it cannot be done through windows 10, only through the BIOS.
Finally! An EASY solution for my Dell! Bios startup didn’t have the setting, and this worked for me. Hard to see my keyboard late at night when it was set to only 1 minute turn off. THANK YOU!

Also tried checking if there is an inbuilt app dedicated to this by HP, but there isn't any. Can anyone recommend any other way to turn it off/on. (Obviously without restarting the device!) Also, HP is shit.. Thank you!
