  • This is a computer replacer, for some digital modes in ham radio. With this, you are able to do PSK, RTTY, and CW, (decode and transmit), just from this tiny screen. Its great for portable applications, and from the desk in your ham shack.

Thanks buddy. I just checked and its out of stock, at Walmart. If you just google "psk modem", you will get a bunch of hits. Good luck.

FLDIGI made this thing obsolete. Its best thing was the ability to transmit FSK or RTTY with a super light set up that included the modem and a portable roll-up key board, plus an SDR transceiver or even a hand held transceiver. Now you can do with a laptop and an SDR transceiver.

For ultralight I think this wins. Two AA batteries and will run forever. No worries about damaging your computer, much smaller and lighter, etc. For the shack, sure a computer wins.

It’s a way to send and receive txt, over radio waves. I also use it to practice Morse code, aka CW (continuous wave)
