@@MSB-Benchmarking speed only gets u so far. Track is a type of sport that is one majority of the time based on genetics. Like Bolt. He was destined by God to be fast . It’s even in his name. Bolt is 6’5 and around 200 pounds and he moving faster than Tyson gay and yohan Blake. Now ofc hard work is applied to but if sprinting was only on hard work , everyone could run sub 10 100 meter

About " how fast this vertical force can be applied to the ground" it only depends
    1. From the possible maximum amount of total vertical force
    2. The transfer of this vertical force from the leg behind to the opposite leg

It's not half the force as you need to subtract the weight of the human.
    Avg weight 200lbs
    Sprinter applying 600lbs extra running
    Marathon runner applying 300lbs extra
    That's exactly half!!

  • @Leonidas-eu9bb

This cearly proofs that vertical force is NOT that important for achieving faster running speeds.
    But horizontal force is!

  • @warrenharrison8710

Lol you didnt have to say muscle mass.😅 mass was enough. F=ma. The acceleration was the same so the only difference was the mass.

Force over time is power - so the more power the faster you go!

    • @shade0mirth

Power is work over elapsed time. Work is force times displacement. Force is mass times acceleration.
But yes, more power would translate to greater acceleration.

Drive your legs as hard as you can into the ground. Always inline or slightly behind your hips. You need to work to get your knees to make a 45 degree angle with your hips and torso. during acceleration, your body almost leaning 45 degrees forward. You should be able to draw a straight line all the way from ankle to shoulder. After 30ish M, upright torso with knees parallel, drive hard down and back. That's the basics go train 👍
