Hi Alex how are u
The teachers sound like 19 year olds. Who cares if kids like your outfits? They're kids.
Wait did that adult just stand outside in the rain and take pictures of underage kids?!
Exactly
@@AxxLAfriku can there be at least one comment of yours that isn’t obnoxious? Get out bot
It’s like, “I’m under payed and unhappy with my life choices, that’s why I hate my teenage students that happened to be born rich and have a more eventful and interesting life, than me!”

The concept of making the teachers gossip girl is weird and gross. how did that one male teacher just happen to be standing outside of the window to take and distribute nude photos ?
They could've made the teachers targets of the Gossip girls. Like the students being the gossip girls and let the plot focus on the Teachers and the relevant students just teening and being trolls on the internet
Yes, the whole concept is super lame.
Oh so they'll be getting into actual sex crimes?
Coolcool, can't wait for that part of the video
@@BlueGangsta1958 I am about 100 percent sure that there is going to be somekind of storyline ahead where one of the teachers sleeps with one of the teens.

Is it just me or does that one blonde teacher’s dialogue sound like it was rejected by Riverdale
No for real, all of the scenes with the teachers made me cringe so hard between the dialogue and its delivery.
Yeah the actress isn’t doing great with the lines either

The way she talks reminds me of Dixie D'Amelio and it grates my nerves
The teachers stalking, harassing, taking pictures of underage teens half naked, and acting like the good guys makes me wonder how this ever possibly got the green light
I mean it's a drama but they were just trying to be "edgy". It's crap.
@@Romy--- thats not even edgy tho honestly. Euphoria was "edgy" the original gossip girl was "edgy" teens being wild, sex, drugs rock and roll or whatever. This is just laughable
@@sunflowerrylou720 facts
@@Romy--- that is not edgy. Sorry but not sorry. The new gossip girl show is garbage. I don't like it because of what it represents. The stuff the teacher do is illegal.
And as a teacher myself it is sooooo unrealistic. Teachers largely ignore each other as we sit and contemplate our life choices in the teachers lounge. 😆
Ok so everyone knows writers have no idea how teenagers talk, but can we just mention how bad the teachers dialogue is?
Oof, it’s really bad and so is the acting yikes 😬
But… tHe FuTurE wIlL bE thEiRs AgAiNn
its so bad i was crying from cringing so hard
Teachers don't even have time to pee at school let alone handle a mass media watchdog account
Well I mean it was written by a bunch of Xers who clearly don't understand modern internet culture. The millennial teachers act like they've never even seen a Buzzfeed quiz before, and the Zoomers are out dropping Game of Thrones references like we didn't all collectively delete the show from our memories after the dumpster fire of S8.
an entire show based on teachers basically stalking teenagers BECAUSE THAT'S NOT ILLEGAL AT ALL😬
I mean obviously they are going to get caught of account is going to get hacked
They did it once. Now everyone will just send them the info.
Atleast in the original plot no adult was suspected to be the gossip girl
It's like Gossip Girl meets Pretty Little Liars
No duh it's illegal?
this is not female friendship, this is adult writers thinking they know how teenagers talk.
This is exactly the same as before. Adults wrote the original but the teens acted like adults not this dumbed down stuff
@@andS7 yea but the thing is, theyre trying to insert social media in it so it becomes more obvious like "she didnt added me on facebook when we were kids" lol its trying so hard to show that "teenagers live their life through facebook" or something baic like that
so another riverdale, great
I think they're asking Riverdale writers for advice
Can't they write normal dialogues? Which teen talks like that?
No one wants a "relatable" gossip girl! We watched it because it was a completely foreign world
Yassss!!! You put it into words.
This kinda seems like another teenage drama. They should have been unreachable/untouchables , in the sense that you can only dream of being them , but can never be them
Yes but this is garbage. We couldn't relate to their wealth but we could to the need to fit in like jenny, wanting the hot girl like Dan, wanting the bad guy to change for u like chuck and Blair. It was still relatable. This is insane and all over the place
Thank godddddddd
Not to mention their version of 'relatable' is laughably less relatable than the OG Gossip Girls, which at least had the 'poor' family LOL This is so bad.
Yeah I don’t know I know the other one is better but I still watch it I’m just confused how zoya is supposed to be 15?
These teachers couldn’t sound less like teachers.
Wow they sound like the opposite of teachers at my old school. Actually so are the students lol.
Precisely, I can't tell most of these students apart from their teachers!
They sound like college interns who peaked. When in reality in order to teach as a prestigious school they’d have to go to an Ivy League for a good 6-8 years and have a lot of teaching expierence
Aren't schools like those extremely competitive to get into. Rich parents fight for a spot so it's not like the students can rule the school because they have a reputation to maintain.

@@kitxart years ago. Why is it happening again?
Why does a top 10 private school only have young and broke teachers? Wouldn’t
they be able to afford good old and highly qualified teachers? Them being Gossip Girl says a lot about them already
maybe because the good old and highly qualified teachers are already fired since they're harder to control
private school teachers actually typically get paid less compared to public schools ones (in the usa)
Independent school (private school) teachers don’t make a lot! The cost of these schools is 40K to 60K a year. The wealthiest of the one percent
Private schools tend to underpay their teachers since those teachers don't have unions, etc
Because private schools have mostly young and broke teachers.

I know, I could believe Dan being Gossip Girl more than the teachers running the accounts!
Riiiiiiiight
I'm starting to wonder if teen culture has passed the point where it could possibly be portrayed realistically. In fact, is there even such a thing as teen culture anymore?
Damn you might be on to something... many of the things that used to apply to teen culture at least based on our social culture and media to aren't fully the same anymore (to an extent).
Outer banks did a remarkably good job
I think so. Gen z and tiktok, mostly. My siblings that are a generation older do have a different "culture" than I do.
What I mean is this: is the concept of "teenager" relevant anymore?
Idk 1950s brought it about and then I guess it started dying around 2012 or 2013. Now it seems to be online culture.
Teachers shouldn’t be acting this immature especially not in a private school
But (some) people act immature regardless of their age or profession. That's why it's called immaturity.
@@mariosblago94 but not to the limit where they stalk their students and upload it to a media that withholds millions of people, even more posting them half-naked!

That's was the most absurd part.
Did you go to high school? Trust me, I know teachers way more petty than these teachers. I had an English teacher who treated outcasts rudely and the popular kids like they were friends….and being a teenager, even I didn’t act that hormonal (the teacher had to be 30+, while I know the Kate girl is 26/27, since she’s my age).
Okay, so the teachers have no control of the students and after reminiscing they decide to harass their students in the same manner they were harassed by Gossip Girl!?!?!?
Wtf... that's too bizarre for me 😅
Even Riverdale Teachers Wouldn’t Do This Shit 😭
And that says A LOT
Don't be too loud about it or they (the riverdale writers) might hear you .. and do it.
Hahaha savage
YEAH I'm so sad GG got riverdaled. The original wasn't a masterpiece, but held a special place in my heart. This one? I'm just disappointed. (Ps: Zoia dating her sister's ex 2 episodes in with him clearly being a junior or senior... just... odd and not tasteful)
Ok but the parent do too much
Funny how Julien is supposed to be influential and yet she's *influenced* by her friends 100% of the time.
I'm with you. I hate how they did nothing to show us that she is influencial or how she got there. They just jumped straight to it and we are supposed to believe she's some sort of alpha, yet she panders to everyone, reeks of insecurity at all times, and shows no reason that would lead us to believe any of it is true. At least in the beginning when Serena is in the train station the way Dan talks about her paints her in a certain believable light to us as the viewers. Blair is an icy queen and I think we see and beleive that from our first observations of her. No one had to say it out loud for us to figure it out. This show sucks on all accounts.
@@AJ.9.25 Exactly! Blair would give orders and the girls would obey, but with Julian is the complete opposite haha
@@AJ.9.25 tbf a loooot of influencers are literally people who pander to everyone around them to solicit connections and constantly promote themselves. can't really do that being an individual lol
Maybe that's on purpose. If the show is saying that influencers are actually just mindless slaves to the trends of society instead of actual intelligent thinkers, then having her constantly seek approval from other people (even ones who aren't trustworthy) makes sense. Think about it, she wanted to invite Zoya into her friend group immediately but chose not to because she wanted her friends to like Zoya first. As if they own her opinion of her OWN SISTER. She told Zoya to let the fashion show fiasco slide but didn't even bother to punish the two friends who framed Zoya for porn. And she's obsessed with getting back together with Obie before anyone finds out instead of just getting back together with Obie or even if she wants to. All she cares about is what people think of her, not what she thinks of herself.

It's the same way for me. The old gg was about exclusive balls and upscale brunches and felt like a sneak peek into a forbidden world. This new gg seems to be missing that old money feel.

Are yall telling me the plot of this show is that some GROWN ASS teachers were so hurt by some little girl’s comments and decided to make a web page that cyber bullies them
Are you actually kidding me who thought this was a good idea ?????
Tbf it’s more than just bullying, the kids were getting teachers fired left and right. That said, I am truly disturbed watching teachers legit trying to destroy the lives of innocent kids. They’re not going after the problematic kids, they’re actually destroying a sisterly bond with the two least problematic characters in the show. It’s so confusing
As a teacher - what the hell?! Which sicko is obsessed with their students' lives and gossip?!

@@zero1188 it's literally the first episode. chill
I hate when people say gossip girl characters don’t act like teenagers. That is the entire point of the show. They are rich, attractive, and living in the upper east side of manhattan with a huge lack of parental guidance because their parents are too busy and mostly absent on their business trips, meetings, etc. Of course they will act older. That’s the hallmark of the show.
Exactly! Like that's what made it enjoyable to watch. How over the top and ridiculously extravagant they spent their parents' wealth was very fun to expand over the storyline.
(sorry if i sound weird, english is not my first language)
i get you. i feel the same way but this writing makes them fully incomprehensible. i know there’s rich kids out there who still talk to their friends like their kids. but that aside, the original gossip girl at least made the efforts to make some of the dialogue seem natural (even for rich upper east side kids)
@@soyxtit621 whether or not the dialogue is natural is not what i was talking about but in tv and film dialogue does not always have to be “natural” you should watch a video on it. some writers want the dialogue to sound like everyday convos between people while others want to create their own universe of communication that isnt necessarily realistic but effectively moves the show forward/gives insight on characters. plus this show is meant to be dramatic hence dramatic dialogue.
@@miab9550 i see. somehow i just equated their personalities to how they converse when i first read ur comment. i do get the whole talking in their own universe. i mean all shows have that & i get it. but with this reboot, i just can’t get behind it. when i first watched the original as a little girl, i knew that’s not how my older sister would speak. when blair would talk in fancy sentences..it made sense in my head that it was their universe & they were rich and older. but idk i just can’t get behind this writing. it’s like the people in charge of the script haven’t had a conversation with a real teenager (not even their, kids, nieces/nephews ect). sorry i’m rambling and i see now the original point ur making & i realize i started a different dialogue. i’m sorry lmao but i do agree. they’re rich in new york. not average mid westerners or something. but they still seem to have no sense of grounded perspective on just being a teenager so it’s strange to me, they way they interact is just kinda lame.
@@soyxtit621 yeah i get what ur saying!!!! your opinion is valid and it can be off putting and too much for people who like more realistic media they can relate to.
Ok I haven’t watched this show but i hate the fact that we already know who gossip girl is. One of the best parts when watching the original gossip girl is the whole mystery of who gossip girl rlly is and now we know.
And it’s dan 💀💀
actually that was he worst part about the og. the ending was eh
Exactly I don't need to watch the show to know it's going to be boring, cringe and dumb
From what I’ve watched I think it’s possible that they change who GG is, I mean the teachers are terrible at hiding they’re GG, I think they’re going to get caught eventually and lose control of the account and someone else will take over it, so it will become a mystery again.
I know as soon as I watched the first episode and found out that the teachers were GOSSIP GIRL I kinda felt disappointed 😕
Watching adults being so immature and bullying kids, really makes me cringe hard.
Right, like these teachers are real life losers, taking pictures of minors getting undressed, and creating harmful gossip..
Th funniest part has to be that the entire GG plot rests on the teachers hating the students but it’s openly said they make less at this school than they would teaching at public school, so why are they there? Just leave! I know plenty of people who work for the NY board of education it’s really decent pay and benefits. What’s keeping them there??
More money
Prestige and the chance to say you taught Nate Archibald (or whatever)
@@MiniM69 lmao it’s called Constance. Nate Archibald is a character
The OG GG was based on exposing the secrets of rich, spoilt kids, and their problems with schools and careers, family and friends, and most of all, romantic relationships. On the one hand, their wealth meant they lived such foreign lives to the average person yet on the other, you could relate to their struggles because we've all been through those same sorts of struggles.
Maybe not whether to choose a Prince or a Playboy but questioning whether you're with the right person, even if theyre everything you dreamed of, is an actual human experience. You let down a friend or your partner betrays you. Your parents are disappointed in you or abandoned you, or you feel pressured to live up to their dreams instead of yours. You feel inadequate, scared, or lonely. Real, relatable problems, just dressed in high fashion.
The new GG seems to involve the characters literally manufacturing incidents to garner outrage about each other in the very first episode. It's like they're admitting their new characters just aren't interesting on their own.
That's so true. Also in the original GG everyone had such distinctive personalities (even Nate in a way). Also they had layers, especially in the first seasons. Like Serena was a mess, but had a golden heart, she was fun and a free spirit but also had to battle her own demons regarding her dark past. Blair was the icy queen but had a lot of insecurities etc. It wasn't stellar writing, but the characters were compelling
Exactly the characters were relatable even though they were rich. Blair was insecure, had immense pressure to lose her virginity to her bf, had to date the popular boring guy coz he was hot. Serena wanted to make amends and live a quite life but have a good normal bf and not step on Blaire's toes. Dan wanted to date the rich popular girl coz they had a lot in common. even Chuck had a good side and was so insecure in every possible way. Jenny wanted to b the it girl but realized that she wanted to thrive, was pressured into sex with an older guy, wanted a career but had to kiss ass against her will. Even Vanessa and Nate had their own paths. Vanessa wanted Dan but Dan was drawn to Serena coz they had more in common. Nate was screaming for love but had to go philander coz of deep seated emotions and Serena was his first love. The other characters were annoying but in the background. But in this new GG the background annoying characters are all the characters. I wonder if it will ever go for more than 2 seasons.
Exactly and the fact that they were so immeasurably rich that nothing could actually hurt them in the end. The hedonism made it more entertaining
This is such a brilliant summary of why OG GG was awesome!
So this show is about teachers acting like teenagers and teenagers acting like adults. And the thing is if the teachers is Gossip Girl then who is narrating the show then.

Teachers being the Gossip Girl suddenly make Dan Humphrey being the Gossip Girl an utterly believable and frankly great idea. This show somehow justified the original series big reveal. Other than that, it's just...... The teachers are pathetic. Who on earth approved of the part where a male teacher takes pictures of a 14-years-old in her lingerie and puts them all over social media?! The characters are boooooooring, one-dimensional (I thought only Monet had potential to be something, but I don't dare put my hopes high), and I kept forgetting them while still watching the show. In the original series pilot, the characters are immediately gripping. Even Nate is memorable! (he just got immensely boring later in the show) And the GG point was to make you root for mean, scheming, occasionally vulnerable people, who would be hardly likeable in real life, with their fashion calling you broke in every brand, yet you find yourself invested in their drama? I am still trying to find stuff that would be kind to my budget while looking like something Blair could wear! The new series's fashion is just.... Compare Julien's runway moment to when Serena rocked Jenny's green dress, and let's have a minute of silence for the og. I don't need a bunch of kids who look like me, I need my favourite guilty pleasure.
Are characters really said to be 14-years-old??? It’s crazy, all of them look older than me and I’m 21😂
@@ГалинаЛазарева-н2п Zoya is 14, I believe, and Audrey's age is given as 16 at some point, so the rest got to be around that age.
I thought Monet was a horrible character personally! Mean but with no bite, making her both boring, predictable, and unlikeable. Max was the most interesting for me
Lmao Nate was famously boring. Monet and the other minion, who's so BORING idk her name, are the least dimensional characters so far. They have offered nothing but pointless schemes and are unnecessarily mean to everyone. Monet is the most disappointing because she's flat. She's the meanest but we dont know anything about her. She wants to be the blair.
I hate the gossip girl exposition. Why does every reboot need someone to remind everyone of what happened in the last show? They dont need to refer to the old characters every single time they talk.

The target audience is female and girls hate each other and fight all the time. The story isn’t outgrown, it’s reality. It’s like saying we’ve outgrown a show where a boy falls in love with a girl or men fighting over one girl or two guys having a power struggle fight.

I've spent all morning watching this series; as a huge fan of the original I wanted to give it a chance and now I have thoughts. I'm just gonna say this right off the bat, this show (so far) doesn't hold a candle to the original, no shade just my honest opinion. The biggest problem with this reboot (aside from being a reboot nobody asked for) is the reintroduction of Gossip Girl. One of the best aspects of the original series was the existence and the mystery around who Gossip Girl was. When we were first introduced to GG it was just this entity that was already established and cemented as a thorn in the side (if you will) of Manhattan's elite. By presenting GG as this already existing "character" shrouded in mystery, IMO it added excitement an intrigue as to who GG was, what she knew, how she knew it and ultimately what her motives were for doing all this; in addition we loved to see just how GG would screw with our favorite elitists. The series thrived on the mystery of GG and the sort of checks and balances system she provided, sending the message that money, power and influence has its limits and always comes at a cost. On the other hand reintroducing GG as just a group of disgruntled teachers upset and abused by their over privileged students just feels cheap. It not only takes all the mystery and excitement out of GG it makes their motives seems selfish and their actions creepy and cruel. As a result the teachers feel like the villans and by extension GG itself and makes you sympathetic to the students much more than you should or would ever want too. Where GG in the original felt somewhat necessary in the new series it just feels WRONG. I understand the reboot sought to go in a different direction and IMO was forced to because of the mistake made by the original series. The reveal that Dan was Gossip Girl was IMO the biggest mistake EVER, it not only destroyed the key element of mystery in the original but ruined any chance of good reboot. That being said the one aspect of Gossip Girl's reintroduction that was good was it's evolution. Where the original GG was centered on one person, making it feel a bit unrealistic, the expansion of Gossip Girl to be this network with everyone essentially contributing was GENIUS. It was an idea that while hinted at in the original it was made real in this new series making it more realistic and current and reflective of the times.
My other major issue with this series are the characters; simply put most of the characters are boring with a few minor exceptions but ultimately none of them help sell the series as what it's meant to be; they pale in comparison to the OG characters and fail to present themselves as true Manhattan elitists. Of course the new characters shouldn't just be carbon copies of the originals (although the show definitely tried it) a good reboot should at least capture the essence and feel of the original and this series just doesn't. Everything in this series just feels too relatable and way too high school and not at all like rich kids dealing with rich kid problems. As a 16 year old junior in high school watching the original series, while I was able to relate to the characters as being high schoolers that's where the similarities ended. From the first episode the show established Blair, Serena and the rest of the gang as "not your ordinary teenagers." With the exception of Dan the "Every Man" these kids were the sons and daughters of captains of industry and business moguls and hedge funders etc and they knew it and more importantly they acted like it. School was just an after thought, a minor inconvenience in the way of their busy lives of family obligations, pressures and socialite life. In the original series because most of the episodes centered around a party or event you were constantly reminded that this was a whole other world and as the viewer and because of Gossip Girl you were allowed a glimpse into that world, and that was the point. The new series in comparison focuses so much on school and the Every Man perspect that you kinda yawn and forget it's supposed to be a show about the rich kids; as a result it feels less like a new direction and more like a poor imitation of what it claims to be.
All that being said the only Characters I kind of like in this show are Max, Aki, Julien and as of the most recent episode, Obie (though less so than the first three). While yes they have their own issues in terms of character development, they are characters with potential and generate just enough interest around them (IMO) that I want to know more about them and see their growth. The rest of them are a complete wash and yes that includes Zoya "the Every Girl."
The true tragedy of this show is that if it was called anything else it would be a really good show but because it burdened itself with the title of such a beloved series like Gossip Girl it unfortunately will never live up to the original and people's expectations. Despite this little rant I will continue to watch as it isn't the worst thing to watch and I do think it can get better, here hoping....XOXO, GOSSIP GIRL!
Soooo well put!! I can't believe they literally made the big reveal to Zoya having to LEAVE Buffalo was because she was bullied... . And then when they played the video at her birthday party, I was like thats it?!!? I thought she might have gotten pregnant and had to get an abortion. Something juicy! Just because they were laying it on so thick about this video that they had of her. Luna and Monet give me old school GG frenemies vibes and I love it. Aki and Max are my favorite characters. They have the most potential for great character development as the show goes on.
Props to you for watching a whole episode start to finish. Awkward exposition is the cringiest TV trope ever
I'm sorry, it just doesn't compare to the OG. I want to watch old money running around NY, not Nouveau riche kids that I can watch on Instagram and TikTok on my own.
I’m hoping someone hacks Gossip Girl from the teachers and then we can go back to wondering who it is like in the original. It’s lame so far but I’m willing to see how this goes.

It's because the dialogue is terrible, stilted, & poorly written coupled with barely competent actors & horrible lazy direction.
That's the fate of most recent TV shows tbvh like where did the energy go? And why do they cast off the streets. The actors are terrible. I feel bad but everytime Aki talks I have to laugh.
A lot of these teen shows (especially those CW shows) are so poorly acted. The writing is terrible and the actors always end up looking like they're reciting words. I haven't been interested in a new show in so long because the quality has dwindled over the years.
Why do the teachers care for the students validation that badly? Like go work at different school instead of spreading gossip about teenagers just to be “respected”.
