- The Manhattan DA said there were so many stolen items seized in a midtown store, that it took 450 boxes to haul them off. DA Alvin Bragg said Rehana’s Cosmetics, Sixth Avenue store near Herald Square, was the epicenter of a large fencing ring: stealing items from major retailers and selling them at a profit. NBC New York's Lynda Baquero reports.

Companies should sue the government for destroying their business by taking away penalties for theft. Insurance and retail companies/businesses big and little should file a class act suit.
Retailers are allowed tax deductions for theft (aka shrink). So retailers aren't that concerned about theft. The government is in kahoots, don't think they're not!

in my country, Philippines, it is a crime to buy/receive stolen goods, if you are aware they're stolen, or if you are assisting in processing a sale of those stolen goods. it's called the anti-fencing law
