Hey thanks for the kind words! I believe it was 4 to 5 oz leather in this video. I’d definitely go thicker if it was a dog collar. I use 11/12 oz bridle leather for dog collars
@@cagamer4161 yes, that’s what I found to work, but it really just depends on what you like. A little thicker wouldn’t hurt anything. You can do a quick google search on ‘leather thickness guide’ or something like that and get a good idea of what types of items are made with different weights of leather. Hope this helps!
I want to make a collar for my cat. But I want to look over the top tough. Maybe a harness with a built in helmet with an eye patch for when he is sitting it looks like he is on century duty. With tons of bling and chains and charms or gold for the birds and insects he killed. But maybe I should start small? The side you didn't glue seemed to buckle. Would you glue it if you had to do it over?
