I've been subbed, and watching, for a few months now & the one big take away I have is that you 2 are way too hard on yourselves. I have seen many videos where you apologize for not knowing everything, not getting enough done, having slow paced videos etc. So I wanted to say that I'd suggest you take a second, and reconcile just how HUGE your project/s actually are. You are doing things most people simply can't. And the fact that it may not all come together in the most "Insta fabulous" manner is not relevant. You & Your fam are living a great series of adventures and not destroying yourselves in the process. All of this is inspiring, and connecting thousands of other people and at the end of all of this, you'll have an actual home, that you are truly invested in. How is that not a great life? Take care of yourselves, and keep doing the things! :)
So you save the money you built sheds that you know aren’t going anywhere and when your children are 60 years old and you may possibly have passed on your children will remember every hour of every one of these days and it’ll warm their hearts great job mom and dad❤️❤️🔥🇺🇸
I just watched this in 2024. I loved seeing young, wonderful, and oh so helpful Nine-Nine. Aren't you glad he taught all of your cats about building, so they can make sure everything is built right? Lol.
if you don't spend good money on them temporary garage polyethylene cover doesn't last long you be lucky you get 1-2 years out of it. yes, shipping containers not cheap but it sure well build out of heavy steel. shit some people build homes out of them shipping containers and they look good to just saying
I just moved to Cochise County 3 months ago. I also bought two 12' x 20' ShelterLogic buildings. Within a few weeks, one went belly-up...looked like a turtle stuck on its back...lol. The wind here in unforgiving! I am trying to go 'off-grid'. It is challenging for sure. Especially since I am a 56 yr old single woman doing it all by myself. But I am going to win!! Thank you for all your inspiring videos. I have learned a lot and you have given me great ideas!
I think that the earth bag rear walls was an excellent idea. I watched every minute, and found it very interesting and helpful for others wanting to do something similsr.
I lived in Hereford for 21 years, I love all the familiar foliage, the thorns on the mesquite and the century plant. The elements can be pretty strong, unless you live there, you’d never guess the strength of the wind and rain, especially during monsoon. Those mountains with the afternoon sun, sigh. Miss that, especially the patches of aspen trees turning gold in the fall.
If you had bought a pre built building of any kind you still would have had the electrical cost, so looks like to me, you made the correct choice. I ran across your videos last week and have been playing catch up starting from the time you found the property and started the buying process. Playing skip around a bit but thoroughly enjoying the videos. So sorry for your loss, my heart hurts for you. I was totally in love with that boy
Brilliant! Clever music match up, wonderful photography, hugely valuable information organized and delivered in a super organized fashion. Such a gift to anyone in the future who is considering this type of thing! Thank you for this great video!!
I like the way you two think, why buy it when you can build it, AND, those kids need something to do, right. The lessons in self-sufficiency for the kids (and for us) is priceless.
Added bonus getting this video thanks ,I don't do TV so great to have something interesting to watch on my tablet. Wow what an accomplishment brilliant job TSH all be worth it now . 💪🖐️👏
Look, Ma! Desert solar ovens!😎 From personal experience with my own desert oven, I just now applied closed cell foam to the underside of my storage roof and it makes SUCH a difference.
You guys are awesome busy little bees!! Love your video and the funk music you chose us right on!!! You guys are very talented, smart and well educated in the projects, which you strategicly well thought thru. Well done family!!
Absolutely putting this in the saved videos for later reference once I secure my land!! Thank you for taking the time to put this content online for us like minded yet camera adverse peeps 🤪😎
thank you. Love all of your little animals. Beautiful family, and who ever did the cinematography and editing...wow, nice, nice. Real pro. Love the B Roll of the little birds on the branches, animals, mountain, etc. You did great.
These buildings fit in so well with the whole concept of what you are building. And that is, buildings pulled up from the ground. Beautiful work!!! Glad to finally see how you built them. Thanks for the extra video!
Like all of your projects, these buildings are so beautiful. You took something ugly and broken and made them beautiful and functional. You guys are awesome!
Yes, I watched to the end of the video. Thanks for the detailed explanation of your sheds. I am thinking of making one for myself, but not in the desert. My new riding mower needs a safe place to sleep. John in Bethel, Missouri
Your sheds are fabulous I don’t think you could ever buy the quality of those two any cheaper. I have followed your channel for quite awhile now and I am excited that Ashley is going to be able to plant a garden and have organized sheds to get ready for the house. I see it in my mind already. You’re doing a fantastic job everyone.
woah! the image highlighting of various components on the solar build is one of the smartest ways I've ever seen to show how all the pieces work together. what an amazing tool to use for teaching, much love.
Whoop whoop! This was great. I knew you guys were working on another project(s) while working on the chicken coop project. You’re family is truly amazing..
If you want to screw in the augers quicker get one of the bits that they sell for portable fish shacks. They chuck up in your drill and are designed for screwing in the ice anchors. You just have to modify the opening a bit wider to fit the size of the anchors. Use an electric drill ( preferably 3/4 ) and hang on tight so you don’t break your arm if it hits a rock. Love the video. I’m going to do the metal to mine when it quits snowing. Liked and subscribed.
They look amazing! Shelter Logic should be paying you for upgrading their crappy tarp products with a brilliant "hack"! They'll definitely be a solid structure now. Maybe one day, when you're bored 😉, you can bag over the tin roofs and make them solid AND cool inside! The cats have a luxury apartment, now, too. 😊
Hi Everyone, I was born in Yuma, Az. and we moved to a small town in Wilcox where we lived till I was 12 yrs. old when we moved to New Mexico. Anyway thanks so much for this beautiful video!! Brings back great memories👍🤗😁
Bonjour la famille et Rosa Diaz. This is a pleasant surprise to have an additional vidéo for my viewing pleasure. it's 07h where I am and there's a new vidéo to see whilst i eat breakfast and drink hot coffee. I must say, the project at hand is stellar, brilliant. well done with upbeat music. I stayed to the end. thanks for the cost breakdowns. y'all make it all look easy. the children are just the epitome of good and efficient workers. what a blessing. so thanks for the extra vidéo this week. my european breakfast, coffee, and this vidéo have started my day with energy and a smile. see y'all this afternoon. merci
I’m so glad somebody knows what they’re talking about! I just thoroughly enjoy your vlogs, and thank you for allowing me to travel along with, and experience in the most minuscule way, your journey Cheers to you both and the tids❣️👍😉👏💋🥰 By the way don’t take any notice of negative nancys, they’re not worth your irritation, or your words, all it takes is one ☝️ button. 👍💋👏❣️😉
Great video. And most of all…. Look at all that permanence!!!! Look at those roots being laid down!!!! Look at those foundations being built for your homestead!!!!!
Just loving your family homestead. You are an amazing family. Your videos always have a feel good theme to them. Thanks for inviting us into your life.
Oh super impressed with this. After watching videos of arched cabins I'm thinking someone could live in one of these price difference would be unbelievable even though Arched cabins are pretty darn inexpensive. The barn doors are beautiful. Y'all are great team you did a great job.
You guys are just fantastic I have watched several of your videos and they are interesting, inspiring and just a true show of good old craftsmanship. Thank you and keep up the great work and be blessed.
Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to rebuild my new river shack after big floods washed my 4.5 year labour of love away this week - great idea.
We’ve had that EXACT structure for over 10 years in New Mexico high desert. I think now the cover is more duct tape and tarp than the original skin. However, the frame is solid. You guys have given us such a great idea at an inexpensive fix. Man this was super informative.
WOH ! Jonathan , That was like Chinese algebra. I bet YOU understand that wiring tutorial , but I think I would need an Electrical Engineering degree to understand what you just said after 50:30. I'm glad you got it. Keep up the good work ! God loves solar energy, and so do I. Don't need to understand it , to love it.
Wow! What a treat😃 Got home from work and watched the Monday video and 5 seconds before it finished I got notification for this one! Both projects look great 👍
Nice really luv the doors 👍🙏✌🌻 I dont know how yall Have kept this quiet it is beautiful everything gonna do and it's gonna look so comfortable and so comfortable and homey so natural✌🤟 oh my I needed to learn the solar power running bird bath and camera to watch the birds all from small solar, but wanted go bigger thanks
The best thing about it is you built the shed/garage as a family . They look amazing now and it’s all about team work.Well done.I enjoyed watching this.Your views all around are just stunning and when you have finished building it will be all your own work, and just how you want it.What a fabulous thing to do and way of life. I am a little envious of you . I love all the animals ,so cute how the dog helped you ha ha. The chickens are busy little things, how you never fall over them I will never know lol..Love n Light 🥰
WOW!! You guys are amazing, so much work. Those garage, sheds look great and so much stronger. Each and everyone of these projects bring you closer and closer to completing your homestead project. Love your videos thanks again for posting.
What a wonderful surprise! Great job on the video and oh my goodness, it is artistry in the desert! Y'all are so creative and fun. Thank you for the bonus vid!
We aren't homesteaders but we moved to the mountains above Albuquerque NM. We have the same climate as yours. I ran the well dry the first year I put in our garden. Anyway, I love your family and feel like I understand some of the challenges you live with. Survival of the fittest! We are in our late 60 and early 70's and don't have the stamina to do what you do but I wish that we'd be doing it if we could.. Sometimes it's just about overcoming the challenges! Thanks for your videos. That hot sun is a real kicker and wears you done pretty fast. It takes some getting used to but it appears you are Impoverishing, Adapting and Overcoming! 👍🏻
Yes I watched all the video! I liked what you did with the lodges. Yes I will be watching your Videos from now on. I am Jane Green from the n.e part of Oklahoma City Metro. Married to Chester. We have 10 ackers in the woods.i will be 70 July 8.
I admire the research and work you have out in to stay off grid and limit your carbon footprint but not sacrifice any comfort or conveniences. Your solar system itself is amazing. Good job guys.
Great Jog , I also loved the skills and the ingenuity used in solving a problem . You both always make our day when we watch . Smile. Ninette Bird- the Caribbean Wife- Tx
The amount of wisdom, love, strength, ingenuity, and any other good vibe is right here! New fan here, from the deep South. I've experienced heat and storms in the desert it made me appreciate the moisture/mold 😬 floods 😟 and storms here... But I would like to trade y'all the humidity 🤣 awesome video and project can't wait to see more. One love! 🙏
Wow ! All that work besides your regular chores and daily vids on the chicken garden earth bag build. Plus your everyday life interests, and erands. Awesome ! I've got to go lie down.
Hello from 🇨🇦 near Sudbury Ontario ☺️ Love watching you guys build anything 💕☺️👍🏻 It was easy to watch til the end😁 Great job guys👍🏻 and Yaaay no more worries about those sheds ✅ They Look Awesome 🥰 God's Continual Blessings to you all 🙏😇🕊️💝
I have the garage shed frame sitting in my yard for years with not a drop of rust and it’s not going anywhere. This is a perfect solution to covering it. I wanted to make into a greenhouse some day and I love the new doors! We live in the northeast and we were lucky to get two years out of the canvas. This just gave me an awesome idea. If I can take it apart and move it to camp I could totally use it for my lawn tractor and wood storage. Some day I would like to learn to make small buildings run off solar panels. Just have to watch more videos. You guys are awesome and I love following you on your journey
I don't know how you do it. I left Nebraska because it was just to brown and dry for me. I love all of the green here in Tennessee and I'm a true tree hugger. I love having trees all around me. I guess that's God's plan, a place for all of us. God bless y'all and keep growing .
This has been truly beautiful ❤ watching a family come together & work willingly, lovingly for a common goal; reminds me of a Big hug. Thank you for sharing, big hugs from San Antonio!
Awesome savings, plus all the learning / testing. Especially for the solar stuff. That's been really valuable. Those round frames really are stable, especially now! And don't forget all the family helping. Taking down the old fabric was a highlight. Looking forward to the double round chicken hotel.
Y'all are awesome at diy and the satisfaction that your whole family is part of the builds and it looks great 👍🏼 👌🏼 😀 is priceless.. even the animals supervised precious ❤
hello watching what you and the kids edit for the final video is always a joy..... and the way you decided to do stuff really makes sense...... also everyone’s smiles and laughing is easily contagious
I watch a lot of people doing tiny house & homestead series. I always space out for the solar power system setups because I won't understand the language. But I actually understood your explanations pretty well. I still couldn't put it together but I better understanding the various appliance implementation that baffles me so much. That'll be helpful for me. Thanks for your series. You encourage me in my life. & Yes I actually watched it to the VERY end. I'm sharing it with my son & son-in-law because both of them will be interested in the solar setups & the break down of costs. (Which will vary because we live in exciting times.😱)
Haha awesome. If you want to get even nerdier check out the install video of our massive system that will power the house ua-cam.com/video/vnjMQLhp6LE/v-deo.html
wow! This is FIRST CLASS! Well done! Thanks for sharing this fantastic project. You guys never cease to amaze and inspire me. Happy to be a very small part of all this.
Great video, loved it, building and the fur and feather friends included. Reminds me of growing up on ranches and farms. Thank you. Gives me more ideas for my storage shed.
YAY!!! I made it to the end. I loved it, but the benadryl just kicked in big time and its time for bed. LMAO!! I loved the extra video today. I can't get enough of you guys! I learned so much watching your builds. I love how the kids and all of the pets are involved..lol. Night guys..see you tomorrow! Hugs!
Very good job family. To combine all of the building methods you have learned on the land was a genius idea to repair both ShelterLogic tents. You were able to personalize each structure and put your stank on the darn thang. I really enjoyed watching how the structures came together.
@@TinyShinyHome if you would watch a pro plasterer do his job you would increase your speed considerably and be happier to finish projects sooner.....also look up styro aircrete please
We really enjoyed this vlog especially seeing the kids work along side of you and the silly antics.. So many other vlogs on YT where it appears they don't. Also want to comment on tool usage as an observation. I didn't see you using your impact driver to bolt things or undo things using the socket attachments. Less work than using ratchets all the time and easier on the arms/hands. :-) Keep up the good work!
Hip Hip Hooray you all worked together and got it done. One more step to making the homestead more enjoyable.
I just watched this in 2024. I loved seeing young, wonderful, and oh so helpful Nine-Nine. Aren't you glad he taught all of your cats about building, so they can make sure everything is built right? Lol.
These custom built buildings look so much better than any shipping container! They blend with your surroundings. Well done!
They all look Good, Containers and
This Too !

I just love how your buildings blend in with nature.
This was actually one of my favorite videos. Very informative with the start to finish and a cost breakdown. Thank you for sharing this one!
I just moved to Cochise County 3 months ago. I also bought two 12' x 20' ShelterLogic buildings. Within a few weeks, one went belly-up...looked like a turtle stuck on its back...lol. The 70's will start to slow you down. 56 is still all systems go. Best wishes to you.

Absolutely love that your kids are helping, The life lessons they are learning they would never get in school. Great job. I love your videos
And YAY new drone footage showing no red bags!! I almost missed that (don't tell anyone I multitask listening to y'all or other videos while working)
I think that the earth bag rear walls was an excellent idea. I watched every minute, and found it very interesting and helpful for others wanting to do something similsr.

Mama’s eyes are gorgeous! I love how you converted the shelter logic. Awesome
What a delightful bonus for today! Thanks for sharing so many of your excellent creative endeavors 💜

I dream of this lifestyle just with more tree’s hehe🌾🌿Watching your family is truly inspiring. Thank you for taking the time to share.

Aww thanks for watching and glad to have you here!
Like all of your projects, these buildings are so beautiful. You took something ugly and broken and made them beautiful and functional. You guys are awesome!
Great idea
So happy to see the build of the shed and garage. Very exciting to see the process.
You all please take care and be safe
Yes, I watched to the end of the video. Thanks for the detailed explanation of your sheds. I am thinking of making one for myself, but not in the desert. My new riding mower needs a safe place to sleep.

Your sheds are fabulous I don’t think you could ever buy the quality of those two any cheaper. I have followed your channel for quite awhile now and I am excited that Ashley is going to be able to plant a garden and have organized sheds to get ready for the house. I see it in my mind already. You’re doing a fantastic job everyone.
omg i watched to the end i prefer your work over prefab garbage hugssss from Canada
woah! the image highlighting of various components on the solar build is one of the smartest ways I've ever seen to show how all the pieces work together. what an amazing tool to use for teaching, much love.

"hang on tight so you don’t break your arm if it hits a rock" yeah sounds like all my augering experiences 😂

Hold on Shelter Logic makes a pretty good product and they have provided warranty replacements. Its just the harsh dessert weather that does not help.
@@michelewalters9421 That's true; but do they make one specifically for that environment? Just curious, because if they don't, they should...

God's Continual Blessings to you all 🙏😇🕊️💝
I love how all of your animals hang out with you no matter what you are doing. You guys Rock!!
We grew up in TN and fell in love with the desert while traveling full-time. Go figure 😂
This has been truly beautiful ❤ watching a family come together & work willingly, lovingly for a common goal; reminds me of a Big hug.
Thank you for sharing, big hugs from San Antonio!
I was entranced at how amazing the editing to the music was in the sequence at 21:00-ish. Kudos. Amazing job. Chapeau.
Hey thanks 😊
Awesome savings, plus all the learning / testing. Especially for the solar stuff. That's been really valuable. Those round frames really are stable, especially now! And don't forget all the family helping. Taking down the old fabric was a highlight. Looking forward to the double round chicken hotel.
Y'all are awesome at diy and the satisfaction that your whole family is part of the builds and it looks great 👍🏼 👌🏼 😀 is priceless.. even the animals supervised precious ❤
Love those Barn Doors. The Homestead is coming along, guys! It looks like an awesome sight to see!
Happy for Ace! keep getter stronger! Hope all goes well on getting builds out the door.
hello watching what you and the kids edit for the final video is always a joy..... and the way you decided to do stuff really makes sense......
also everyone’s smiles and laughing is easily contagious
Watching it gave me a sensation of freedom.
So much of enjoyment on this video

I really enjoyed watching your family work together, good memories!
Your kids and animals are so cool, love watching your building projects.
"Put your stank on the darn thang" Thanks for the LOL 😂
@@TinyShinyHome if you would watch a pro plasterer do his job you would increase your speed considerably and be happier to finish projects sooner.....also look up styro aircrete please
@@TinyShinyHome and farmtec for the cheap sheds that last longer....lol....1 year?....
