I've been subbed, and watching, for a few months now & the one big take away I have is that you 2 are way too hard on yourselves. I have seen many videos where you apologize for not knowing everything, not getting enough done, having slow paced videos etc.
So I wanted to say that I'd suggest you take a second, and reconcile just how HUGE your project/s actually are. You are doing things most people simply can't. And the fact that it may not all come together in the most "Insta fabulous" manner is not relevant. You & Your fam are living a great series of adventures and not destroying yourselves in the process. All of this is inspiring, and connecting thousands of other people and at the end of all of this, you'll have an actual home, that you are truly invested in. How is that not a great life? Take care of yourselves, and keep doing the things! :)

So you save the money you built sheds that you know aren’t going anywhere and when your children are 60 years old and you may possibly have passed on your children will remember every hour of every one of these days and it’ll warm their hearts great job mom and dad❤️❤️‍🔥🇺🇸

I just watched this in 2024. I loved seeing young, wonderful, and oh so helpful Nine-Nine. Aren't you glad he taught all of your cats about building, so they can make sure everything is built right? Lol.

I just moved to Cochise County 3 months ago. I also bought two 12' x 20' ShelterLogic buildings. Within a few weeks, one went belly-up...looked like a turtle stuck on its back...lol. The wind here in unforgiving! I am trying to go 'off-grid'. It is challenging for sure. Especially since I am a 56 yr old single woman doing it all by myself. But I am going to win!! Thank you for all your inspiring videos. I have learned a lot and you have given me great ideas!

I lived in Hereford for 21 years, I love all the familiar foliage, the thorns on the mesquite and the century plant. The elements can be pretty strong, unless you live there, you’d never guess the strength of the wind and rain, especially during monsoon. Those mountains with the afternoon sun, sigh. Miss that, especially the patches of aspen trees turning gold in the fall.

If you had bought a pre built building of any kind you still would have had the electrical cost, so looks like to me, you made the correct choice. I ran across your videos last week and have been playing catch up starting from the time you found the property and started the buying process. Playing skip around a bit but thoroughly enjoying the videos. So sorry for your loss, my heart hurts for you. I was totally in love with that boy

If you want to screw in the augers quicker get one of the bits that they sell for portable fish shacks. They chuck up in your drill and are designed for screwing in the ice anchors. You just have to modify the opening a bit wider to fit the size of the anchors. Use an electric drill ( preferably 3/4 ) and hang on tight so you don’t break your arm if it hits a rock. Love the video. I’m going to do the metal to mine when it quits snowing. Liked and subscribed.

They look amazing! Shelter Logic should be paying you for upgrading their crappy tarp products with a brilliant "hack"! They'll definitely be a solid structure now. Maybe one day, when you're bored 😉, you can bag over the tin roofs and make them solid AND cool inside! The cats have a luxury apartment, now, too. 😊

We aren't homesteaders but we moved to the mountains above Albuquerque NM. We have the same climate as yours. I ran the well dry the first year I put in our garden. Anyway, I love your family and feel like I understand some of the challenges you live with. Survival of the fittest! We are in our late 60 and early 70's and don't have the stamina to do what you do but I wish that we'd be doing it if we could.. Sometimes it's just about overcoming the challenges! I have the garage shed frame sitting in my yard for years with not a drop of rust and it’s not going anywhere. This is a perfect solution to covering it. I wanted to make into a greenhouse some day and I love the new doors! We live in the northeast and we were lucky to get two years out of the canvas. This just gave me an awesome idea. If I can take it apart and move it to camp I could totally use it for my lawn tractor and wood storage. Some day I would like to learn to make small buildings run off solar panels. Just have to watch more videos. You guys are awesome and I love following you on your journey

I watch a lot of people doing tiny house & homestead series. I always space out for the solar power system setups because I won't understand the language. But I actually understood your explanations pretty well. I still couldn't put it together but I better understanding the various appliance implementation that baffles me so much. That'll be helpful for me. Thanks for your series. You encourage me in my life. & Yes I actually watched it to the VERY end.
I'm sharing it with my son & son-in-law because both of them will be interested in the solar setups & the break down of costs. (Which will vary because we live in exciting times.😱)

Very good job family. To combine all of the building methods you have learned on the land was a genius idea to repair both ShelterLogic tents. You were able to personalize each structure and put your stank on the darn thang. I really enjoyed watching how the structures came together.

We really enjoyed this vlog especially seeing the kids work along side of you and the silly antics.. So many other vlogs on YT where it appears they don't. Also want to comment on tool usage as an observation. I didn't see you using your impact driver to bolt things or undo things using the socket attachments. Less work than using ratchets all the time and easier on the arms/hands. :-) Keep up the good work!
