We need to nurture this brilliant soul rather than tear him down. I found this to be an accurate depiction of life. A movie doesn’t have to be 95% happy w 5% pure tragedy or 95% sobbing tragedy w a neat little happy bow at the end. Dan did a great job showing the trajectory and experiences of long-term relationships, grief when it suddenly ends, and the growth, and sometimes lack of growth, that happens through the process. This imitates real life instead of what Hollywood makes life out to be which also means it’s not 10000% anything but it is 100% solid Dan Levy work. I continue to be amazed by him and will always look forward to what else he’ll do next ❤️
Dan Levy is absolutely charming in the movie, utterly likable. He is the main reason the movie works so well. There is a lot of tenderness in the movie too. It is very touching.
Good Grief! This is one of the most well crafted pieces of writing I've experienced for film or T.V. in the modern age. Thought provoking, heartwarming, practical and totally relatable. I found much to re-visit in my own life-in watching this story unfold, and it helped lift some of the heaviness of the past - something that only great writing and filmmaking can achieve. Very well done to Dan and all involved.
I loved the movie, appreciated the beautiful shots and humor, it softened the sad storyline. The cast was perfect. Dan, keep making movies. You have a beautiful soul.
I absolutely adore Dan Levy and this movie. He's a charming and lovesble person and the movie is right on about losing a beloved partner. I know this as I have lived it. People, if they're tearing the movie or him down, must be either clueless or have never felt that soul sucking loss. I'm looking forward to seeing this lovely gentleman putting his stamp on many more good films! Loved it, 👍🏽👍🏽💙!
He’s such a talented and hardworking dude. I hope he doesn’t let the scathing reviews of this movie tear him down, and instead takes them as constructive criticism and continues being a creator.
The only person worth watching in this nearly two-hour pity party is Luke Evans, but unfortunately, he gets killed off in the first 10 minutes. Then we're left to slog through another hour and a half watching Dan Levy's resting poor-poor-pitiful-me face.
Did you read the description before watching? It’s a movie about grief. Hence the title. Maybe you have never grieved or you have avoided it. Grieving is exactly how this movie depicted.
Dan Levy is an absolute treasure. You can tell he brings so much heart into everything he does. The mark of a great storyteller.
