576,000 Roku accounts compromised. What happened?

If you use Roku Smart TVs or streaming services, be sure to check your accounts for suspicious activity. Over the weekend, Roku streaming services weathered a second attack accessing over 500,000 accounts out of its 80 million active users.
Thankfully only 400 accounts were confirmed to have any unauthorized purchases linked to them. In response, Roku has initiated 2FA sign in for all new log-ins.
