There is something honestly healing about Ashnikko's music. Her lyrics are wildly intense but so clever, brutal, and relatable. If you've ever been taken advantage of in a relationship, it feels just like this. I saw her livestream and she said that she was in a room by herself and needed to 'say some things' about a person. Girl, I feel you. She just gets it. Her twisted imagery matches the conflicting emotions. I hope we all heal together.

Okayyyyyy. So when I first felt myself attracted to Ashnikko tunes I was confused, because I dig metal more than anything. But Ashnikko just keeps getting harder. I watched the video where they scream to the song “Cry,” and just thought, Ashnikko definitely has heavy metal potential. This is such an awesome crossroad where it’s kind of pop but kind of metal. Like the bridge absolutely no one asks for, but is oh so welcomed. I love all these lines that they cross. I love so many different genres of music and Ashnikko covers so many even in just one song 🔥absolutely ADORE this artist. For SO. MANY. REASONS.

They did listen to Slipknot growing up and I had a hunch they're gonna turn to metal.
There's this "nu metal revival" happening, where queer female / nonbinary people have started to include metal into their pop music. I read about this on Wikipedia by accident about a week ago and immediately went through all the artists the article listed. - Ashnikko - Maggots (2021) It's essentially hyperpop and rap mixed together, but I think it has a metal edge to it, especially the Vevo live version.
- Poppy - Am I A Girl? (2018 album) She has pretty much become the face of the revival movement. Most metal song from the album is probably Play Destroy (feat. Grimes).
- Poppy - I Disagree (2020 album) The entire album is nu metal. My favourite songs are BLOODMONEY, I Disagree and Anything Like Me. She also has one album released before these and one after these, but I haven't listened to them yet, since Wikipedia did not list them on the article.
- Rina Sawayama. Everything she's ever done has been a mix of different music styles, including metal. She makes the blend sound so effortless, it's hard to pick songs to recommend, but here you go: STFU! (2019), Alterlife (2017), Who's Gonna Save You Now? (2020) & Enter Sandman (Metallica cover). I also love XS (2020), it was the first song I heard from her, but it's not the most metal song from her. The singing has some metal vibes occasionally and obviously there is an electric metal guitar in the mix, but otherwise it's a pop song.
- Grimes - We Appreciate Power (2020). See also the songs she's featuring in.
- Dorian Electra - Ram It Down (2020). I haven't gotten really deep into their stuff yet, but I am intrigued.
- Dorian Electra - M'Lady (2020)
- Scene Queen. She describes her music as bimbocore, which is metalcore with feminist themes. Her songs sound like if Barbie (think Aqua - Barbie Girl) decided to go metal. You love it or you hate it. Or are on the edge, like me. She was not listed in the Wikipedia article but definitely deserves to be included. My favourite song from her is The Rapture (but it's Pink) (feat. Mothica) (2022).
I would also like to add, that In This Moment has been doing similar music for several years now, although they did not start from pop, they went straight to nu metal. Babymetal should also count, even though they are an industry plant (=created by someone in the record label and hiring singers, instead of being a self-made angry feminist artist like most of the movement).

I love all three of them, and horror, so it's definitely the most interesting part of the video imo

And one of them gave me their jacket bc the whole concert consists of 3 liter faygo bottles being rocket launched into the audience

I literally work Concerts for a living, so I have seen all the greats perform. I actually bought a ticket and traveled to see Ashnikko and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen, hands down, PERIODT!!!!

i didnt know it but a year ago ashnikko released this and it is a tale of my 9yr relationship with this soul sucking leech demon. i ended it in may and i have started to live again. the line "im empty from filling you up" says it best. never be in a relationship with someone that does not do the work, i know you can carry the relationship if you choose but you will become a shell of a human because of it.
When I was in high school, I had to face my emotionally abusive ex just about every day, it made me feel anxious and worthless every time I saw him. This song came out and I blasted it every day, I felt like I was taking something back. This song made me feel valid in all of my anger and animosity towards him, I felt like I was valid. Now, I'm in the best place I could ever be in, she gave me the confidence I had been lacking for too long. Ashnikko if you see this, you gave me my power back. I can't thank you enough.
What happened? I feel like there were two sides to this story. Most people (who dont have emotional maturity), when they feel wronged, get tunnel vision. Can you honestly say what you expierenced was fully and wholly malicious and not ignorance on your or his part?

Fucking disgusting being... i got raped by on of my best friends while high on fentanyl in & out of consciousness.
