As a quilter, I can tell you Tyler’s Grandma’s “blanket” cost way more to make than the YETI blanket. Fabric is easily $13/yard and the minky backing fabric is even more expensive. Then there’s the cost of batting-the inner layer that makes the “blanket” a quilt. Finally, the whole thing has to to be quilted so that all the layers hold together. I’ve made custom designed hockey quilts for each of my grandsons; each quilt cost me more than $350 to make. You’re right about one thing, though, a grandma’s “blanket” is made with LOVE.

The interesting thing is that homemade quilts of that quality are actually also super expensive. This is probably the only comparison where the yeti product is in a similar price range to the product he has at home.
Man this guy has me in stitches! Priceless! My great great grandmother made one of these blankets for my father and I remember sleeping with one of these as a child, and he is right, the coverage is phenomenal! As well as the softness and the love! LOL grandma blankets always win! yeti boooo!
I admit that I have this blanket. It was a gift and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings and tell her that she was nuts to pay $200 for this. To be honest this is geared more towards using on wet ground or at the beach since it’s waterproof. I still haven’t even opened it up yet.
I make quilts too, and you damn right there’s love in every stitch! That and maybe some swear words if triangles are involved. Also lots of time running back to the fabric store to frantically find one more yard of that color you bought too little of because you’re a quilter, not a mathematician.
Just wanted to say I love YETI products. The blanket is a ground cover blanket, hence the waterproof side and soft side. It’s for sitting or laying on but not wrapping yourself inside. Lay on the YETI and cover with grandmas.
A packing blanket costs 6 bucks for 3. Depending on where you get them. And they work great for laying out on the sand and grass. Terrible use of 200 dollars for a picnic blanket.
The Yeti product is called a blanket but I believe that was poorly named, it’s supposed to be a GROUND COVER, and proved a cozy surface to lay on top of, hence the waterproof underside and water resistant top. Comparing it to a quilt is comparing apples to oranges. For example, try putting that quilt on moist dewey ground and see how long before it soaks through. I agree that the Yeti is poorly named and expensive, but for it’s intended use, it’s actually a high quality product that will probably last decades. People like to crap on big companies , at least criticize it for its intended use instead of pretending that it’s supposed to be a quilt.
Ok for real what is the material called on the 'soft' side of the grandma blanket? Is it the luxe cuddle stuff or something else? Go ask grandma and report back please!

Yeti owners just lets me know who not to go into the outdoors with.
Excellent discernment!
Their water bottles and cups and shit are very solid. Lots if their products are just paying for a brand name though.
@@Dubngrub look up 'project Farm' on utube, he tested a bunch of water bottles and yeti didn't come up on top.
lol dude. honest, straight up review. stay safe my dude. you must be on Yeti's megacorp conglomerate radar by now. you crack me up. that's a nice $200 boat tarp
The interesting thing is that homemade quilts of that quality are actually also super expensive. This is probably the only comparison where the yeti product is in a similar price range to the product he has at home.
Yeti is probably cheaper.
Man this guy has me in stitches! Priceless! My great great grandmother made one of these blankets for my father and I remember sleeping with one of these as a child, and he is right, the coverage is phenomenal! As well as the softness and the love! LOL grandma blankets always win!
yeti boooo!
Grandma made a blanket for me with my name on it and...it wasn't Sweet Pea. 🧐🤓🛡️
Underrated keep up the great work dog!
He just does these reviews so he can justify buying these ridiculous Yeti items to his girlfriend 😂
Probably the best review of any product ever created
But is it bear proof? The important questions to ask
This comment made me burst out laughing 😅
This Yeti review is the best yet!
In Yeti's defense, I would imagine it being intended as a picnic blanket to sit on outside. But $200 is still absolutely ridiculous
It def is, its an outdoor blanket, doesnt hold pet hair for the back of your car and stuff apparently
Even as a picnic blanket it sucks.
Double 👍 to Tyler's Grandma. That quilt rules!!
Is Yeti condoms a thing ?
They’d cost more than the hooker
Don't give em ideas
Probably be made of steel
But if they're fridged and ridged.......
Just wanted to say I love YETI products. The blanket is a ground cover blanket, hence the waterproof side and soft side. It’s for sitting or laying on but not wrapping yourself inside. Lay on the YETI and cover with grandmas.
Tyler’s grandma is a nice lady
You gotta try a 15 lb blanket it’s amazing. Great for the Midwest cause of the cold in winter.
What it’s good for is laying down on the sand or in grass not for using as a blanket in the house
I get the blanket. It's perfect for picnics, outdoor concerts, etc. But $200? Come on.
Maybe the beach even, so yeah. As to the price, who knows.
The dislikes are the 2 yeti board members and 80 drunks that purchased it last night on Amazon.
I'm still convinced that he buys yeti products because he actually wants them, then justifies it by saying the youtube video will pay for it lol
It’s now his motorbike dust cover .
I think he can write it off on his taxes too
i love how after he announces the first test he looks at the yeti and goes "ahh damit" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Grandma knows best....
Tyler's Gma is just knitting in a sweat shop now because of all the orders
Ok for real what is the material called on the 'soft' side of the grandma blanket? Is it the luxe cuddle stuff or something else? Go ask grandma and report back please!
Props to Tyler's grandma subscribed. Love it 😍
