Im having trouble with the 900 ashbox. I keep running into issues where the ash ends up jamming at the bottom of the box, and the only way to clear is to drop the fire and rach in and restart it.
the handle i found at a yard sale. i just drilled 4 holes through the side. and added bolts and lock nuts. you can find a good handle at any big box store.

Tahoma turns out some great food. Great charcoal flavor. Smoke flavor when adding wood.

For a little more you can get an Old Country BBQ insulated Gravity smoker. It is a beast. You can get it from Academy Sports.

make sure the grill is level. and nothing behind the ash draw. keeping it from sliding in.

You could. But I wouldn't recommend it. Be dirty smoke
