    Kit contains 240 parts including:
    126 high-quality resin parts;
    15 clear resin parts;
    94 photo-etched parts;
    4 clear CNC-milled parts for cab’s glazing;
    vac-formed windscreen;
    Also kit contains:
    2 ribbons for seatbelt imitation;
    approx. 50 bolts;
    assembling instruction;
    The Freightliner Argosy is a model line of cabover trucks that was produced by the American truck manufacturer Freightliner from the 1999 to 2020 model years. Developed as the replacement for the FLB cabover, the Argosy was a Class 8 truck, configured primarily for highway use. Competing against the International 9800, Kenworth K100E, and Peterbilt 362, the Argosy was the final Class 8 cabover marketed in North America, following the decline in use of the design in the United States and Canada.
    After the 2006 model year, Freightliner shifted mass production of the model line entirely to export, ending sales of Class 8 COEs in North America. Sold nearly exclusively to South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, the Argosy was produced through 2020. In North America, the model line remained available as a glider truck on a limited basis, ending in 2020.
    Through its entire production, Freightliner assembled the Argosy in Cleveland, North Carolina. This facility produced vehicles for both North America and for export, as well as glider vehicles. In Australia and New Zealand, Freightliner replaced the Argosy with its Freightliner Cascadia conventional (bonneted) truck.
    For 2012 production, Freightliner introduced a second generation of the Argosy. While again manufactured in the United States, the new generation was developed primarily for sales in export markets (in Australia, the Argosy was the best-selling Freightliner vehicle line[5]). Distinguished by the introduction of a larger grille, the update brought extensive design upgrades, centered around aerodynamic and cooling improvements.[5][6]
    While sharing its underlying cab structure with the first generation, the 2012 Argosy adopted design commonality with the Cascadia (the successor of the Century Class and Columbia), including its drivers' compartment; in a loose preview of the 2018 Cascadia, the Argosy was designed with a trapezoidal grille opening and single-piece door glass (deleting the vent windows[6]). To allow for a larger radiator, the cab was raised slightly;[7] consequently, the previous three-inch floor intrusion was eliminated entirely.[5]
    In line with its conventional-style counterpart, the Argosy was powered by either a Cummins ISX or a Detroit Diesel DD15 (the latter, replacing the long-running Series 60).[5][6] At its launch, 18-speed transmissions were standard, in either manual or automated manual form.[5]
    Discontinuation
    In 2020, export of the Argosy to Australia and New Zealand came to a close, ending mass production of the model line in North Carolina; from 1999 to 2020, over 7,500 examples were exported to Australia.[8][9] The same year, assembly of glider vehicles was discontinued in North America, closing down the Argosy model line completely after 22 years.[10]
    As of current production, the Argosy has not been replaced by an equivalent product line in North America since 2006. Freightliner Australia has commenced sales of a right-hand drive version of the Cascadia; also sourced from North America, the Cascadia is a hooded (bonneted) truck, less advantageous under trailer length laws.[8][1] Outside of North America, the Mercedes-Benz Actros COE (also sold by Freightliner corporate parent Daimler AG) is within the same market segment as the Argosy, but weighs significantly more than a similarly-configured Argosy.

    Wow! I can't remember ever seeing a kit with this level of detail. I'm having a serious dilemma now though. Recently I posted that I was really excited about seeing the GM Silversides build, but now... well, now I'm torn. Good luck Sir! Anyone with lesser skills would be cowering in the corner after flipping through the manual.

    Just received my GM Silverside Bus today - it is spectacular. This is another kit that looks very nice. The ICM and Roden kits are from Ukraine and this kit from Latvia.
    The Eastern European companies that are producing these kits are really stepping up the quality of detail in this hobby ! At this rate, soon the Asian companies like Tamiya
    and Dragon will need to step-up their designs as well. This only makes things better for the builders. Yes, these kits are pricey - but they are not toys ! I am loving the time
    I spend on these super-detailed kits because I am retired and don't mind several weeks for a nice build. Thanks for the great review.

    Dreaming here, but it would be amazing to have a 1/16th Stutz Bearcat in resin with this level of detail. Imagine a line of classic cars done this way-- maybe duplicating the old Gowland & Gowland series but in a large scale. One problem would be getting documentation on the parts-- probably impossible. Especially if you are based in Latvia.

    I have never seen a kit with this level of detail. I may have dreamed of one but this is the finest. How long would it take you, the fastest, yet error-less take to build it? And keep the sailing ships coming, please. I find that most girls (8 to 80) are attracted to the shelf with the ships.

    Unbelievable detail in that kit, do they only model trucks? Chris I've got a huge favor, recently retired (partly due to covid) on a fixed income I find myself with ample time but insufficient funds to return to the hobby. Any suggestions? I've been working on a couple kits left from the 90s, and a kitbash 32 3window.

      Hi David. Have a look at sites like eBay/TradeMe (etc) for part finished/unfinished kits. It can be a bit of a lucky dip as you don’t always know how good/bad the model has been started but the upside is that some unusual, older kits come up occasionally that can’t be bought from a shop (discontinued product lines etc). Here in New Zealand, I bought a Pucara plane for $18 and the guy said he’d send me the whole box of kits he had at no extra cost because no one else had bid on them (I ended up with a complete Sunderland flying boat, the Pucara and a box of random parts/engines/props that will come in handy one day). Hope you can find something to keep you going :)

    The level of detail is absolutely INSANE! The engine block, transmission and even the brake shoes are incredible.
    If I would build this kit, I would leave a pair of the duals off and also the brake drum off to show the parts. Make it a diorama of the truck getting a wheel seal or new brake shoes.
    I work on semis for a living...this kit BLEW MY MIND!

  • @tomcline5631

    That ain't no thicker than styrene!! Most resin kits I've seen are usually quite a bit thicker! That looks injection molded! Details on both sides!
    Would have to brake out the magnifiers for this booger!
    Yeah man ,there details are so fine on both sides/all the way around,that that's gotta be some kind of injection molding. This thing is friggin amazing! Those bolts are making me kinda sick to my stomach! The carpet monster is gonna llove those bolts. I don't know man! I'm getting anxious just watching the unboxing! It looks like a phenomenal kit,but I think I'd smoke a carton of smokes,and maybe start drinking again.
    This kit is just disgustingly awesomely detailed!
