Finally, a well-made boss improvement mod! Simple yet interesting changes that keep the feeling of the original battle while giving it a new spin. I say this because most modders transform bosses so much that they don't even feel like the same character; often, they add unnecessary and unbalanced elements just to make it harder and more epic. However, you added simple changes that make the fight more engaging, reminiscent of the improvements FromSoftware made to the Inner versions of Genichiro, Owl, and Isshin. Really great stuff!

      @@FabioGabrielY Thank you.
I actually considered changing the fight more by integrating additional Messmerflame elements to more of Messmer's attacks during the 2nd phase: a flame trail here, a firestorm there, etc. Unfortunately, it turned out that the Messmerflame VFX from other enemies that could be used for this don't fit visually, looking orange next to Big M's crimson and lacking his signature shadow tendrils. So the amount of change is ultimately limited by my resources and abilities, not just my taste... sadly.
Funnily enough, sounds like you wouldn't really enjoy my other boss mod, seeing how my Morgott is so drastically different from the vanilla one. I'm much more proud of that one, part of it - precisely because of how much I've changed the boss from vanilla, and think it is the better fight of the two gameplay-wise.

@@Goodbutevilgenius Reading your point of view helped me understand why modders may feel proud of changing many aspects of the bosses' movesets. I saw your Morgott overhaul mod and I actually really liked it! While you changed much more from the original fight, most of your modifications are tweaks to combo charts, adjusting the speed of some attacks and adding elements to improve the flow of the fight, like the backward dodge; that’s the kind of change I truly appreciate.
You added significant difficulty to the fight by effectively utilizing the boss's animations. Adding Margit Phase 2 attacks was very clever as well. Even the Lord's apparitions you included are well-placed and serve as new follow-ups, demonstrating your understanding of what makes a fight both challenging and enjoyable, especially the ones that require the player to not only dodge but also jump.
What I really dislike are the mods from Garden of Eyes and similar ones that add attacks and movements from 34+ different bosses, creating elements that simply don’t match or lack personality. With all that said, you're great! Keep up the good work, Morgott and Messmer deserved to be stronger!

@@FabioGabrielY Oh, I agree about Garden of Eyes and such. My personal favourite example of what you're talking about is a rework of Radagon I saw, where he used retargeted animations of (among other things) the Interior Ministry dual machete master in one phase and Laxasia from Lies of P in another. The animations looked terrible and were utilised so badly that he would literally start kicking in place tens of distance units away, or even land one attack and then miss the follow-up by tens of distance units - but hey, Radagon has his Golden Order greatsword now and that's what counts.
My intention with Morgott was to create and fast-paced and challenging fight that would fully utilise the potential of his animations (misused in vanilla) and fit the mood of his music (let down in vanilla) - and look good. The end result is deliberately not faithful to the boss as he was (since the experience of the fight is very different even when it's not Margit's attacks/Godfrey phantoms being used) - but is pretty true to, like, what I feel the Big M fight should have been.
Messmer got changed way less partially because he is way less easily moddable and partially because the vanilla is already way closer to what I'd like to see from a boss of his importance and audiovisual coolness. Still, since many of the changes are to the AI, the gameplay difference is probably larger than the video suggests.
