Early adopters always pay a premium
I got the prerelease Tatsugiri promo, and then I pulled a regular one in the booster pack included in the box. I also pulled a full art Infernape, which helped since that was the box I got. Unfortunately I thought the variety in how many people I would be facing that also pulled the same deck combo (minus the Tatsugiri because only I pulled that promo out of my three opponents) would be greater and I stupidly did not include the Enamorus that I also pulled in my deck, which would have been highly beneficial and probably would have helped me win. I lost all three matches.
The first match was against someone I've known for about ten years and he forgot how to play (he is disabled, he was a client of mine when I worked with disabled kids) because he hadn't played in two weeks. Two out of my three matches were mostly teaching matches as I learned I am a far better teacher and am wondering if I should see if our comic shop needs people to teach the game because I've been playing since the cards released in 1999. I was also trading at the time of deck building so I was quite distracted. He also won because I did an awful job shuffling my deck due to a new technique I was learning due to my immensely small hands.
Second match was more of an actual match, but due to me trying to trade and build a deck at the same time, my deck was poorly built so I lost.
The third match was again a teaching game. This time it was against a kid whose mom built their deck and had no idea of the rules of a prerelease nor how to build a deck. As a result, the mom added cards that were not legal for play using the rewards pack for signing up to the event with your Pokemon Trainer Club ID. The cards in this pack were not allowed to be used, but were used anyway. I did let it slide, but informed the kid and his mother that these cards were not allowed to be added to prerelease decks and only cards included in the box were allowed to be used. I taught him how to play the card game, which he won using my instruction.
I am able to play well, I just made some bad decisions when it came to deck building and was teaching the game through most of my matches as I prefer to teach people to play the game properly so they know the rules for future games. I also instructed them to play Pokemon Trading Card Game Live. It may not be a good client, but it's good for learning how cards work.
is eevee ir going to rise in value like magikarp did last year? i see a lot of people who desperately want that and cant blame em art is amazing and so cute, never seen something like that before...

Bro apropiating Eevee IR for increasing the value. Sadly by 2027 you would have to buy around 55 thousand Eevee IR created by the Pokemon Company to make the value of the card skyrocket to 1 million duhllars that in 2027 will be worth what today are 100 bucks. Luck on you!

This is the golden rule of TCGs doesn’t matter which. Presale prices are always insanely inflated short supply high demand. Release day boxes and boxes get ripped and the market gets flooded and prices drop. In the words of Obi Wan Kenobi “Patience!”
It's best to buy singles when prices go down I bought all the eveee vmax and v for under 70 and 120 at psa 9 months ago now they pricy as hell I say buy singles and never buy in the beginning I have learned my lesson buy older sets when it goes and amd wait till new sets drop n then buy

Ofc Carmine will drop, just like every card drops, but it's hardly gonna drop under 50, just because the card art (plus waifu tax, plus extra weeb tax, plus extra face emote tax) is level above the rest of the supporters. People that buy early are usually people that don't care about money anyways, just want these cards early to flex and score some points on social media. Everyone else who cares about money knows these all cards will drop soon and prices will settle on some more normal amount.

This dude talks about a card not being on par in terms on value because of its playability. How about just take a moment and appreciate the artwork for what it is. Us the collectors don’t care if it’s a good just as long as it’s pretty.
