I just ordered the QOR 24-set of 5mL tubes, and this will actually be the first time ever that I paint with professional watercolours! I am pretty excited to try them. :)
I am so excited to try the new colors they are my favorite they last longer than any of my other brands. I had just wished they had more colors lol especially the perylene and im super excited to compare the colorshift to the Rembrandt ones
I bought perhaps 10 tubes soon after they first came out. I still have some left. They performed very well. I like the pair of Phthalo Green PG7 and Pyrrole Red 254, they mix very neutral neutrals and very dark darks, and Perylene Green type hues. I also like the 'yellow triad', Benzi Yellow was near spectrum and even looking, on either side with more variation was the Azo Yellow and Green Gold. I also liked the Cobalt Teal and Quin Magenta.
Unfortunately it's been discontinued due to losing the source for pigment. We developed a similar color now named Ultramarine Pink Dark. As the name indicates, it's a bit deeper than the older one. Please take a look at the virtual color chart and click on the swatch to see a good representation. goldenartistcolors.com/products/qor-artist-watercolors/watercolors
Golden was always quick to answer questions, unlike some other companies. I think the name of the person I emailed a few times was Jennings, even though I was just a hobbyist, she always had plenty of time for me.
Hi! UA-cam tells us this video is still processing. We do have the right box checked to show comments, and hopefully processing will finish up soon so you'll be able to see the live comments.
Hello! These new colors are hitting US retailers now, and will be at stores in other countries in the weeks/months to come. You can look for QoR retailers via our store finder: goldenpaints.com/store_locator QoR is also available at online retailers.
Thank you very much for the very informative video. I'm very excited about the new colors, there are many ones I'm very interested in. My biggest question is (already asked that via E-Mail but didn't get an answer) when will the new colors be available in Germany/ Europe? A lot of my followers are from Germany and we're all very interested in when we're able to get the colors here, because so far no shops (not even the biggest European art shop (Gerstäcker) has the new colors or any information about when they will arrive).
@@GoldenPaints Thanks so much 💜 I will inform my followers and will be waiting patiently for them to arrive here. I'm super excited there are so many beautiful paints I can't wait to try 🥰
Why did the brown umber loose its reddish quality with the addition of white? I don’t understand why that would happen. I would love to learn the science behind that. Thanks!
Great question. White actually does two things, it will lighten the value of the color, but it also neutralizes the color as bit as well. White being such a high tinting strength color will often over power the subtlety of colors. With watercolor some of the most vibrancy will come from highly dilute transparent washes and glazes. This demo was to show that you could use white to add body or opacity to the colors as needed. Some folks like to do this with highlights for example. This article might be fun to look at. We are having some site issues at present, but this link should work soon once we get the site back online. justpaint.org/neutralizing-color/ Let us know if you have questions, help@goldenpaints.com
Nonprofessional here- I get that granulation is the latest fad but some of us weirdos like nongran. NOW I think many people think 2 tone = gran and don't realize single pig can gran. Anyway, I do like 2 color splitting. But single pig, I prefer to not look grainy. So- I love the wildness of Qor- it is a texture on its own and doesn't need gran. Please don't forget us nongran people when making new colors! I love your paint but can't wait for this fad to pass. My fave colors blue and black... I love the solid bold colors! Will try that white mix. (cad purple is a good example)
what I would do for a super warm nongranulation ultramarine!!! (I do have yours and its not the gritty thankfully... to us nonprof, grittiness reminds us of cheap paper)
Thanks for the feedback! There are a lot of colors (the majority actually) that are not granulating. They are listed as staining. Our website has them listed, both in the virtual color chart and supplemental guides such as this one: goldenartistcolors.com/resources/qor-watercolor-pigment-information
All paints are pricey. I love Qor colors. They're so rich. I prefer them to the other top brands. I would like to see a bigger palette at some point rather than 6 tubes or pans. It would be easier to purchase that way. Also less duplicates in the smaller ones. I now have several duplicate pans and tubes.
Hi, I love QoR paints, it's my absolute favourite brand. However, that you haven't increased your prices just isn't true. Or have retailers world wide just gone wild and raised prices despite you maintaining your prices? Because there had been a, for me, steep increase in price.
Great colors!!!!
Qor is my FAVORITE watercolor to use! LOVE the movement and I am so excited for the new launch! ❤
I LOVE Qor watercolors! They are very vibrant and enjoyable to work with!
What a cool job!!!!
Very informative presentation. Well done! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loyal to Golden over here! Best paints available!
Thank you!
Absolute truth! I use only Golden Paints. Nothing else comes close. ❤

Love your paints! They have made their way into my palette to take over.
The cad purple looks like a must have

ultramine pink is no longer being made? I really liked the ultramarine pink and ultramarine violet (blue shade) . what would be a replacement?

It would be good to turn on captions.
Thanks! The captions are available if you hit the cc button on the bottom bar of the video.
I know where the captions are. They weren’t available six hours after the video posted.
There was a longer than usual processing period for this video after the stream ended. We're glad they're available now.
