@SCDHL #2 And judging by license plates alone, some Californians bring those same bad manners to Washington state and drive the same way; tailgating, no signals, play road rage games. Funny how that works between other neighboring states coast to coast for out-of-state drivers.
I can understand why these first responders that have to do this kind of work on the daily have PTSD! They see horrific situations all the time and they can't respond to it because they have a job to do. They have to push any emotions down so they can get the job done and then they go home and they certainly don't want to dredge up all those feelings and horrible images to their partner. My heart goes out to them and I commend them for the outstanding job they do everyday!! It takes a very special person to be able to do this. They do NOT get the recognition that they deserve!! Thank you for everything that you do!! You are appreciated more than you know!!!
Even before I read the description of what happened I told myself it just takes one bad driver to cause that and I was right. What I am going to state is I detest that van driver that caught off the box truck. Why? Because my husband is an essential big rig driver and he has cars cutting him off EVERY DAY. I've ridden with him many times and I've seen it for myself. Anyone that watched this video needs to learn this one very simple rule even a fifth grader would understand: when you are going to move over into a lane in front of any kind of commercial vehicle/truck WAIT for ONE SECOND! Make sure there is at least 2-3 car lengths before you do. If that van driver had followed that simple elementary rule then that woman would be alive.
@@foxglovepearls I have no connection to this crash thanks for asking. (Edit it was the poster above me who said it was her dad) I just figured as it was a rental they possibly were not used to driving a truck

We have more cars and trucks on our roads than other states and those states keep sending fools here to drive like they are in Kansas or Florida still. SMH
My goal in life now is to never set foot again in California. Terrible drivers, too much crime. Best wishes to the rescue personnel, they have to put up with all the trauma.
I totally 2nd this. I was to California 2 times 1997 and 2003 with my dad on Amtrak both times. I refuse to ever return to that dump in this day and age. It's been ruined 1000x's over and there is no reason to ever return.
I am a native southern Californian. Hubby and I left the state in 1995, and returned on a "Memory Lane" trip in 2014. I was amazed at how overcrowded it has become. Wall-to-wall people and buildings. And the freeway becomes a parking lot at around 3:00 P.M. every day. Stop-and-go traffic that stays congested for hours. The climate in California is beautiful most of the time, but the rest of it has become a dangerous, crime-ridden hellhole. Too bad -- because it IS my home state.

Leave earlier! Give yourself more time, and you won't have to race to your destination. Even my own siblings wait until the very last minute to leave home, then cut in and out of traffic with only inches to spare between vehicles. Maybe that's the accepted style in California, but it shouldn't be accepted anywhere!
After watching this channel and others like it, I am amazed at how many accidents and fatalities are happening on our roads. These are almost all avoidable. When you get behind the wheel, you are the effectively the captain of an airplane. Pay attention at all times, drive safely, don't tailgate, don't pull out onto a road or make a lane change unless you are 100% confident it is safe to do so. I see so many distracted drivers today it's ridiculous. I hate that auto manufacturers are adding "tech" to cars that just add to the distraction issue because they are not intuitive and designed to make the operation of the screen safe at 70+ MPH. Also, don't fall for the marketing that makes you think cars are safer with airbags, ABS, and Traction control. Most are unibody tin cans and as you can see, an airbag is for minor accidents. High speed collisions, roll overs, etc and your only chance is with a full roll cage and 4-point harness. Sorry for the rant but I just need to get that off my chest. I am so sad to see yet another young woman perish from such an avoidable mistake.
And that's what's wrong about putting so much excessive technology into our vehicles -- it's distracting, costly, and much of it is unnecessary. All of that computerization just adds more to what can go wrong. Get a cracked board, loose connections, or other malfunctions and all of a sudden your technology no longer works correctly, and that can be very hazardous on a busy roadway. I just recently had my vehicle shut completely down on me due to some glitch in the electronics and/or computer system, and I was very fortunate that I found a wide pulloff that I could enter to get off the main road just as everything was going out. What if that had happened in the middle of heavy traffic with nowhere to go? We don't need to have vehicles that are overloaded with the latest gadgetry. Some of it may be nice, but is it really needed? Only a few of those features are actually helpful. Others are mainly luxury items that add to our comfort but not necessarily to our safety. And we become way too dependent upon the technology, assuming it's going to keep us out of trouble when the reality is, it might or it might NOT. We need to rely more on common sense, obeying the traffic laws, and being considerate of other drivers. AND, getting to know the limitations of our vehicles and our own driving skills. This is how people used to drive before all of that fancy stuff came into vogue and became "must-haves" in people's minds.
WHY ARE AUTO MANUFACTURERS ALLOWED TO MAKE VEHICLES TO GO SO FAST!! IT SHOULD BE BANNED ! NO REASON FOR ANY VEHICLES OTHER THAN POLICE VEHICLES TO BE ABLE TO GO FASTER THAN 70 MPH !! We all know that 79 percent of drivers go over the speed limit! If the VEHICLES can't go faster than 80 then people can't go 100 mph in them!!! Something needs to be done to STOP IT !!
Yeah -- massive ticketing of speeders with fines so hefty and expensive as the consequence that they have no choice but to to slow down. First speeding ticket = $1,000 fine. Second speeding ticket = $5,000 fine Third speeding ticket = several months in jail. And if the speeding causes injury or death to someone else, a prison sentence. Only with harsh penalties will these jerks finally start driving the speed limit and slow down even more in bad weather and visibility. If they refuse of their own volition to respect the rights of others on the road to arrive safely at their destinations, maybe the justice system can force them to do so. Then again, maybe not. Even heinous criminals today get off with a slap on the wrist. And this is why so much of this carnage happens. No accountability, whatsoever!
When I see “MCI” I think of the of Motor Coach Industries, the manufacturer of most your buses in the USA. What do you mean by “MCI” in your description?
