That 2nd game, I would definitely work on getting to the 9 brick early. Maybe use your roadbuilder for it rather than connecting, and bait him into wasting roads to try to block your connect. Meanwhile, you can still connect either above or below the 9 brick, but you've got a way easier time getting and keeping road with at least double his road material production.

I’d like to point out that once again you chose to not drop the road (game 2)..the next roll you 7d out on 11 cards, instead of 9. Somehow you haven’t figured this out yet. Also dropping road to the 9/10 and settling there would have helped you take road much earlier..

Definitely the 8 3 10 plow the first game was the right move, they've got such a small chance of stopping you, and if they do, they're wasting a 4:1 trade for a meager settle spot.
