In a way its good that this game isn't on PS4 yet, It gives people time to save up after blowing money on BO3 and Fallout Four. Good Guy Xbox scheduling PS4 games at a money manageable rate.
Lol, I'm lucky I'm not poor. I have an Xbox and 2 gaming pcs and also a white ps4. Its only kids that actually need to buy games at a manageable rate of 1 game per month.
+Ethan The Dragon Master lol, same minus the large amounts of platforms but I got my first job not to long ago and bought pip boy edition and am getting parts for a gaming pc.
It's bold of Square Enix to give out reviews a whole year in advanced. Just shows how much confidence they have in this game. Can't wait for it to be released
Game length, size of map / maps, sound design, controls, linearity... ??? This review feels empty, and generic. If this is their marketing attempt to win over people who already pre-ordered fallout 4, they failed.
+mangaas The review is about the game itself, not the length of it. Did he mention that the controls are weird? That the sound design is shitty? That is was too small? No? Then it means it works as intended. If the controls/sound design/length wasn't good enough, he would've told us.
Finished it on PC on everything maxed out. I feel like this is how the game was meant to be played. I was playing through the hardest difficulty and 4 hours into to game I switched from xbox controller to mouse and keyboard because of how the game rewards headshots. Great game, satisfying story, and just enough post credit squeal bait to keep you waiting for the next one.
Good thing ps4 players gets TR eventually.. Now i just have to avoid spoilers as much as possible. Hopefully it retails for less upon release date, i mean it will be a year old once we get it.
I hate how people are comparing the consoles and the games. All of them are good! In my eyes Tomb Raiders a classic that doesn't let you down, Uncharted is fun yet emotional! While Xbox is pumping amazing games AND coming out with Xbox one S, Sony has graphics and detail. STOP FIGHTING OVER THEM. THEIR ALL GOOD. FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES.
Just bought myself this as a Christmas present. I played the original Tomb Raiders on the PlayStation in the 90s and still got those PS's magazines, old school.
So happy that PS4 owners get this game at last. Folks, seriously, recommend picking this up if you haven't already. Yes, there are some superficial similarities to Uncharted, but it's structurally quite different, more of a semi-open world and a progression system reminiscent of Far Cry. The story is ok, doesn't compare to Uncharted but the game plays beautifully.
You do know Tomb Raider is basically the original Uncharted, in the sense that the old games served as a template for Uncharted, so there wouldn't be an Uncharted without Lara Croft
I do know that, and the original Tomb Raider was in large part a 3D Prince of Persia. All these games build on each other. Uncharted took the template and made it much more cinematic, which in turn influenced the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot. So with the influence going both ways the question is how the two franchises exist alongside each other right now. (and the answer is quite well, thank you very much)
Glozwell Finally got to play it on PS4. I grew up with Lara Croft and I've got to say that even though this is a rebooted series, it has so many similarities with the old games. It's got the good old fashioned platforming, climbing, death traps, things trying to eat you, exploration and even supernatural elements. It really is vintage tomb raider refined to its most polished form. This game is nothing short of brilliant. I love everything about it. My one gripe is that I found the firefights to be a bit too easy compared to the previous game and I couldn't find a way to increase the difficulty. But that didn't detract from the overall amazing experience. I can't wait to finish it. Well worth waiting the extra year!
Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, there are a ton of artifacts to find, and there is text for lots of them that fills out some of the historical backdrop of the setting, usually with a voice comment from Lara as well. It's pretty cool. Very much follows the template of the 2013 Tomb Raider if you played that.
Great review, really looking forward to playing it. I don't get all the hate in the comments, if it's a good game it deserves a good score only because most people are still angry at Microsoft for doing that timed exclusive deal, doesn't mean that it's a bad game or that this is review was payed for (micro transactions doesn't affect a single player game that much or make it worse) and in regards to Fallout, I guess most people here already bought it and don't need a review but in general lets just appreciate that in this month 2 great games are being released and don't hate one only because your a fan of one company and hate the other (2 company's with the same aim: make money ).
+XComstockX Because by the time it releases to the PS4 next year (I read somewhere that it would be around Q3), the game would be irrelevant as hell. Heck, I was so hyped for this game last year, but with Fallout 4 releasing, I forgot this game even existed! And with it being XBone atm, I have barely any interest in it anymore.
You should have thank square enix and crystal dynamic because thier are the one who made the game Microsoft did not contribute anything they only pay for the timed exclusive that last one year only... While sony 3rd party games they do contribute to the development and funding ...
Tomb Raider is just such a different beast than it used to be. I never really had an interest in TR games but the reboot changed everything. I think rebooting the series with an interesting and relatable Lara Croft has taken the series beyond just being an action/adventure/puzzle game with a supermodel as the lead to something more down to earth. Now I consider myself a pretty big Tomb Raider fan.
Not a bad score for a beta version. The definitive ps4 edition should be great with all the added content and bugs fixed 👍🏻 Thanks for beta testing this game Xbox guys.
+Jack The Ripper. This game is dead then. Xbox ppl just play halo fallout and cod while TR dies, then dies again next year. Microsoft and square really fucked this game over lol
+ReviewCheeseUSA Same as Xbox then 😉 And I hope you're not actually counting a timed exclusive like TR "exclusive" lol Besides all Xbox has is halo anyway every year. It's like Mario now, there is always a halo and Mario game of some sort every year. Yawn. No wonder those two consoles are collecting dust on store shelves 😂
Sorry? When did Nathan Drake search for the fountain of youth? He was looking for Iram of the Pillars, the Atlantis of the sands inUncharted 3, not the fucking fountain of youth? He's never searched for that in any of the games?
This looks really good. I know uncharteds story will be amazing, but the gameplay mechanics for tomb raider appear to be superior from what I've seen and reviews like this one praise the tombs puzzle design, one area that uncharted is hit and miss.
+MikeGaming yap because its only single player game all the hardwork and focus is on the single player campain thats why the mechanics is way more viriety uncharted has good single player but it has multplayer thats why uncharted is way more replayablity its a great game but its only a rental!
+MikeGaming I really love uncharted story but I am not sure what can they do next. this is exciting to me because there is much more room to explore and it seems like Crystal Dynamics did that amazingly.
Don't get me wrong I trust ND and I am sure U4 is going to be awesome. However, I feel this has a better chance of surprising me more and build on what worked before since it's the first sequal, kinda like the Uncharted to U2 jump. I doubt U4 can do the same, but if anyone can it is probably ND
+PlayableGamez "Have fun waiting 1 year" meh. I'll play Fallout 4 and CoD for the next 3 month, Uncharted 4 at March, Rachet and Clank in April, Horizon... damn too many great games at the times and maybe i'll forget this games existance anyway.
why? I believe Microsoft funded the game or it might not have been made? That's probably why it's an xbox console exclusive for a year and PC next year.
+1983Dave1983 its not funded by microsoft bro research! microsoft just trow money to square to make this an timed exclusive! its not xbox console exclusive ps4 version coming in 2016!
+1983Dave1983 and why microsoft funded the game bro square has a tons of money square dont need microsoft money to make this game no matter what happend is game is coming without microsoft help!
+Juan Amaya It's a timed deal anyway. TR will still hit the PS4. Square can give the Xbox folks a one-year TR exclusivity as long as they're busy giving the PS side the exclusivity of *FFVII-Remake, DQ XI, Star Ocean 5, and Nier 2.*
This reviewer mentions that stealth can be rewarding and even a puzzle in itself, while the IGN review states that by a certain point it is kind of redundant because Lara is basically a terminator when enough upgrades are unlocked. Nice to see that the optons are there and are not shallow as in other titles.
THIS IS NOT FUCKING TOMB RAIDER! Boy, has this franchise fallen to high hell and the writing? The writing is, so terrible that all this cinematic masturbatory requirements: "All games must have now..." are completely pointless and the game-play suffers (If you can call hand-holding bullshit like this a video game!) at the end of it!
Jacob Nelson What's narrative got to do with it you stupid-moron? That says virtually nothing about the game-play that was and still is arguably a lot more complex than the shit we get these days! It was once a precision plat-former, now its the usual cinematic cover shooter with practically zero emphasis on the plat-forming. He's right it is all simply: "Flash." with no substance or depth! Presentation wise it looks stunning, but as a game it has little to no mechanic depth.
Jacob Nelson I hate this stupid argument that all you Crystal: "Fan-shits." like to use in order to discredit the originals, especially when considering that Crystal's original reboot back in 2006, had clipping issues, lazily sped animations and of course dumb-down plat-forming in addition to the floaty and blatantly unfinished controls... You fucking idiots talk out of your arse, since when did a: "Different control scheme equal bad?" The plat-forming is auto-mated, i.e. meaning there's more input from the computer than there is from the player. The originals were: "Fully." interactive and if you messed up, it was usually cause you were too impatient to learn the intricacy of the controls or were simply not good at the games. Clunky is some-thing like Resident Evil, where the characters would walk with: "In-put lag.", does that make them bad games? No, they're just different and Resident Evil had a few brain busters of its own. Whilst it is true that the controls have improved with the times, the vision of series has not been expanded upon and has instead been changed, manipulated by the lowest-common-denominator.
***** Indeed, it only exists by name and sadly, brand-names sell. The same thing is going to happen with Metal Gear Solid, mark my words. Kojima was the heart and soul of that franchise, removing him means that all that is left is a shallow corpse.
+Jacob Nelson Honestly the narrative in the reboot is extremely poor. I just beat Rise of the Tomb Raider last night and I could honestly say that this new Lara is extremely poorly written. They present her as an innocent girl in one minute, but in the next she's single handedly massacring 20 elite military commandos armed with weapons and shields with nothing but her axepick and arrows. In the next scene they try to show her as vulnerable and whimpering so that we could feel sorry for her. I seriously laughed when one character told Lara "you can do it, just believe in yourself!" shortly after she brutally killed off an army of undead and a squad of elite commando while they were screaming "someone kill her! she got me!". By the end of the this game, Lara had ZERO character development. This is a big deal, because the game demands that you pay attention to the story and take it seriously.
Really upset at the deal between MS & Square/Crystal. Such a greedy move that split the fanbase. Most of the fans of this game play PS4. And they have the nerve to say we have Tomb Raider Definitive&Temple of Osiris to play while we wait. I know trolls want call it salty, whatever but moves like this is very bad for the gaming community, especially with a hit and beloved franchise like tomb raider. Square "wants to expand their fanbase" by making games like final fantasy and kingdom hearts 3 on xbox. But then hypocritically leaving their fanbase behind (even for a year) by making this a timed exclusive on a console that it never started nor gained it's identity on? And Phil Spencer had to tell us it was timed not square nor crystal. How could anyone defend a move like this. Xbox gamers shouldn't even be happy to see this move. why?! because Microsoft just opened the door for this to be acceptable. Now a beloved game on xbox could get the same treatment later down the road. Overall this is a lose lose, great game review, looks to definitely compete with uncharted. But I'm disappointed on how this is remotely happening to decade long time fans.
Alexander Albano-Payton Point is, without sony there wouldnt be street fighter 5 same with Tomb raider. Yall need to stop bringing the whole street fighter thing when its also coming to Pc.
Folks, pay attention to this review, and others like it. Notice how completely vague and devoid of detail the review actually is. It's basically just an outline, with nothing to really describe the guts of the gameplay. Pay close attention, as you reach for your wallet and get nailed in your rectum by Microsoft and Square Enix. What a piece of garbage. I played the first one, nothing but QTE's, cutscenes, and mediocre gameplay. This doesn't look any different at all. It's a different, and yet not as good, version of Uncharted. And no I'm not a Sony fanboy, I just like good games. (Although I'm not even a huge fan of Uncharted) The key word being 'GAME.' I'm not interested in tech demos, of which this is. People complained about "The Order: 1886," but this crap isn't much different. It's a pretty game, but not worth $60. Especially when most of the experience is QTE's, controlled camera angles to show you 'cool' graphics, and basically linear, almost on-rails gameplay. Oh, but throw in a few collectibles and being able to upgrade your character and suddenly now it's a game. Uh, no. I really don't know how this is getting great reviews. Money is changing hands, that's for sure.
+Roger Wayne Salutations, person with an actual brain. Reviews have become marketing stunts to raise popularity for said title in order to boost reviewers revenue by publishers paying them before hand to present sweet-talk and give out high-scores!
+MrShawno1231, +Roger Wayne Sorry to pop your bubbles there, but this game is a strong GOTY contender. Witcher 3 is the only game and SOMA are the only games I can think of which are better than RoTR. And, no, I am not a Xbox Fanboy. More of a PC Gamer.
+Vignesh: A Random Guy Well I won't agree with you but I do have Witcher 3 :) Although Fallout took me away from that. Also I'm still playing Sniper Elite 3, and GTA Online. Trying to find good crews to play heists with. I have PS4, but I just like good games, I don't get angry about XBOX. These reviews are as inflated as little Johnny's birthday balloons. And honestly, GOTY will probably go to Fallout 4, although it is a far from perfect game.
This sounds like an advert rather than a review. I've got no complaints about the game's quality, I'm sure it's very good, but something about this reviewer didn't convince me that he was speaking honestly.
For someone who’s never played these games, would people suggest I jump in on rise of the tomb raider, or do I need to play the definitive edition tomb raider to understand story, context etc?
It better be 60fps on PS4, just like the last game was, OR ELSE! Too bad this game doesn't have a good multiplayer to increase it's longevity. I really liked the multiplayer of the last game, eventhough I hated it at first.
The PS4 version of TR:DE barely held a steady 60fps. Frame rate was mostly in the 30's and 40's. ROTR is much more ambitious than TR:DE was, so I assume the fps will be 30fps on PS4, just as it is on XB1.
Game Looks good but oh well... See ya next year on PS4. In the meantime, hello black ops 3, Fallout 4, Divinity, Dark souls 3, uncharted 4, streetfighter 5, persona 5, Overwatch, the witness, No mans sky, SW Battlefront and SO many more i cant remember at the moment.
Being an hardcore fan of Tomb Raider. I will just completely erase "Tomb Raider from my mind", and make a believe that it will launch on Q1 2016 on all platform. Until then , I will explore the world of fallout 4, destroy everything on Just Cause 3. And when anyone of my lovely gaming friends wants to save the universe i will join the fight on Star wars battlefront. Come on microsoft we gamers are more smarter than you think. ;)
Weird to think that the character of Lara will be twenty years old next year, older than probably the vast majority of gamers who will play this latest iteration. I was about twenty when I played the original which was jaw-dropping for its day, and the feeling of exploration and seemingly immense freedom you had (even though it was pretty linear as this one looks yet also) felt a genuine step forward in gaming. I've played virtually all of the Tomb Raider games since their inception, and I will get this one as well as it looks fantastic.
Bought an Xbox One last night with this bundled in. Never been so hooked on a release like this for a while. It gives the sense of somehow being quite realistic and the cut scenes are so realistic that you could almost just get lost watching them alone. Would make a good CGI style movie.
Not spoiling anything, the game is like the last one ,simply exciting and graphics is stunning ,the tombs are bigger and puzzles takes more time but still not as challenging as they said in interview. The story is great and there are some plot twists yet little predictable.Overall ,an amazing game except the ending 's not ...well less satisfying than last game.
I don't get why he said game play and story go together twice but didn't really branch off with it. He also didn't say how long he played for or the expected time for average players. The first one was short and I beat it in two days at 3 hours of play time.
Looks like a good game although I have never played any of the Tomb Raider games. Is the first Reboot game any good, that way I can end up getting this game later on? (if I ever get an Xbox One)
A really great in-depth review and definitely absorbed a good grasp of the next edition of the world's ultimate single person video game series, thanks Mike. How far it's come on since Tr 1 on PS1 in 1996, the adventure seems as close to mimic real-life and movies now than ever. Unfortunately I'm still on PS2 and stuck on a level in Underworld. Have left it gathering dust for now. One day I'll get to move on!
I am so glad that this game is finally out for PS4! been playing it since 2 days and having a blast with it I think it even surpasses the first one. I like how Lara is making such a great comeback this gen the action is rly well paced btw shooting, puzzles and walking around discovering and climbing around in huge areas! def. one of my fav games this gen Lara is my fav action here besides tracer of course lol :)
Wow...a Gamespot score that actually matches what was said on the video. Most times they praise a game throughout the review, yet gives it a 7 or 8. Then the opposite happens where they destroy a game but still give it a 9.
Well, I think all this years playing old tomb raider games and custom levels got me well-trained cuz a few friends of mine think the puzzles are hard in this game but for me ,only 2 or 3 points took me a little longer . Btw,I turned that eagle vision off and I was playing on survival mode.
Well I'm playing tomb raider series now I finished the tomb raider (2013) and now I'm playing rise of tr and then I'll play shadow of tomb raider. I'm really excited
Hand to hand combat really should have been more developed and more complex. It's too simplistic. Also, I wish they would put a bit more emphasis on how arrows really work in real life when you shoot them, but at least they're here. And the story is also too simplistic. Tara is constantly obsessed, for whatever reason, to find the secret to some eternal bullshit. The villains are fairly one dimensional, as well. But graphics is amazing, gameplay is fun and puzzles are intriguing. The ability to assemble new throwables on the fly is also awesome. Overall - worth a buy, but not a full priced one. More like 35$-40$ tops.
Looks better than the last one, and this is coming from a PS4 fanboy, yes it's possible, it's a miracle!!! A Playstation fanboy who's praising an Xbox game!!! Competition is good for everyone, remember that. Better games are coming.
I feel like the release date and the timed exclusive will really hurt this games sales in the end. I had totally forgotten it was coming out until my friend showed it to me.
A very nice combination of Zelda and Prince of Persia, uncharted was just a byproduct of the shooter genre... but It's the stealth aspects that makes this game so good. I mean you have that assassins creed feel to it. Toss in a bit of skyrim-crafting-type animal survival or something. Awesome!
the 20th anniversary version is available now on both platform , i played it on Xbox one, now i'm redoing it on ps4 pro , the game still looks superb , in 4K and high fps mode it's near perfection. too bad the game doesn't have HDR support... yet xD
Whys majority of footage from first 30 mins of game. Least first few minutes I know cuz I just started it up a while ago. Figured I'd see what consensus was. Got it for 27.50 on Xbox one. 20 for game season pass was only 7$
The graphics look gorgeous. Imagine when it gets to PC/PS4 it will be even way better. Too bad is not until like a year. Either way Uncharted 4 will come out to destroyed any other exclusive
I lost count of how many times they force paid/forced to mention "Crystal Dynamics", like I care what the name of the backwater dev team is, if it's not Valve, Westwood, Bethesda etc, no one cares.
Good, I'm very happy that this game worked out.
Now to wait a couple of more months.
+kevokoma you are likely looking at 6months to a year
+kevokoma Me too, I'll pick it up for PC when it launches in January.
***** damn thats tough. So many good games would have come out by then, I wonder if you'll still be interested.
It was a bad move by the developers.
+Aatlon guess you will have to avoid all the walk through videos on xbox one
+Aatlon It's apparently coming out early 2016 for PC, I would have thought the PS4 version would come out at the same time, right?
Nice, I'll get this later on... next year... on PS4... With all DLC bundled...
I'll be playing the next tomb raider by then on my xbox
+Morgan Rath imbecile
Mark Griffiths And I'll be playing the superior Uncharted, on the superior console :)
+Calum Gambrill haha you didn't have an answer so brought up another game, bless
Technically there is no promise in that. It could happen but don't get your hopes up.
Definitely one of the best looking games out there. Want to get it but alas, I don't have an Xbox One ;(
+BeepDerpify You musn't have seen many good looking games then.
Then go get one! If you want it cheap get one black Friday or cyber Monday.
its on ps4 too
xbox 1 , xbox 360 , and pc
+Mario luis Bonoan next year.
In a way its good that this game isn't on PS4 yet, It gives people time to save up after blowing money on BO3 and Fallout Four. Good Guy Xbox scheduling PS4 games at a money manageable rate.
Lol you blew out your money on a 60 dollar black ops 1 map pack..
Lol, I'm lucky I'm not poor. I have an Xbox and 2 gaming pcs and also a white ps4. Its only kids that actually need to buy games at a manageable rate of 1 game per month.
+Mr. Popo hahahah nice one popo
Not that many people are gonna spend any money on bo3...
+Ethan The Dragon Master lol, same minus the large amounts of platforms but I got my first job not to long ago and bought pip boy edition and am getting parts for a gaming pc.
Sounds pretty cool, will make sure I'll pick it up...on PS4.
Ah yes.........next year
:(
+Ralf Ortiz I can certainly wait, plenty of other games on PS4 to play before then.
The Leftover edition
Adam Novice true true
It's bold of Square Enix to give out reviews a whole year in advanced. Just shows how much confidence they have in this game. Can't wait for it to be released
Game length, size of map / maps, sound design, controls, linearity... ???

check cleared, so 9/10.
+mangaas The review is about the game itself, not the length of it.
Did he mention that the controls are weird? That the sound design is shitty? That is was too small? No? Then it means it works as intended.
If the controls/sound design/length wasn't good enough, he would've told us.
+El Greeko No he wouldn't, it's IGN, they bullshit there way through most of their reviews.
+mangaas paid review son... They need to feel relevant when going against Fallout 4 and when they know they will get crushed.
Enjoying this more than Fall Out 4. Story, playability, cut scenes, voice acting and graphics make this the game of the year.
Not even close top 2 were bloodbourne and witcher3 followed by mgs5
Finished it on PC on everything maxed out. I feel like this is how the game was meant to be played. +stalkermuch We will probably get it at full retail price, but with all dlcs included
They said the price will be reduced. It'll be $40 at most.
+flipsilog It's nice when you have both consoles :-) i am getting it for my xbox one today.
+flotech66 yeah its nice and convenient to own both xb1 and ps4. who wants to wait for a game if they dont have to.
+Asadullah Bhatti I agree,i own both of them but yet the PS4 is my favourite one :-), the xbox 1 is only for playing the amazing! GERARS OF WAR.
I hate how people are comparing the consoles and the games. All of them are good! In my eyes Tomb Raiders a classic that doesn't let you down, Uncharted is fun yet emotional! While Xbox is pumping amazing games AND coming out with Xbox one S, Sony has graphics and detail.

What is the name of the ackground track at 4:48. It was in the CSGO "no Regrets" documentary as well, but nobody knew it there too.

+Quinn Pulohanan sounds like your problem
Already completed it yesterday on xbox360. It was good but felt like almost same as tomb raider 2013.
Wait what? How did you get it early? And why Xbox 360?
Your channel is to small to get a review copy and they wouldn't give the copy for 360.
People are so stupid. It's so easy to get games early if you know where to buy. Learn how real life works, kids.
+lalalabababa i bought mine off ebay and got it 5 days ago on xbox one.
+Prannay Singh if this was the reboot, you won't be able to say that.
If Fallout 4 scores lower there'll be riots in the streets.
+PlayableGamez yes
The hype for Fallout 4 is getting a bit stupid...
+Barack Osama don't worry it will get a 10/10 for annoying fanboys
Why ? If it scores lower its because Bethesda didn't do enough to warrant a bigger score.
+Barack Osama if super mario scores lower than Fallout 4 then i shoot an Osama
Just finished the game is amazing
Game of the year! Thank you Microsoft, 1st class feels good
You should have thank square enix and crystal dynamic because thier are the one who made the game Microsoft did not contribute anything they only pay for the timed exclusive that last one year only... While sony 3rd party games they do contribute to the development and funding ...

IGN-Uninspired combat, GameSpot-Superb combat, so which is it??
5 years later....
Awesome combat 👍
Can't wait! It's going to be all Tomb Raider for the next couple weeks for me. Waitng for this since last gen Tomb Raider.
Not a bad score for a beta version. The definitive ps4 edition should be great with all the added content and bugs fixed 👍🏻
Thanks for beta testing this game Xbox guys.
+Jack The Ripper.
This game is dead then. Xbox ppl just play halo fallout and cod while TR dies, then dies again next year. Microsoft and square really fucked this game over lol

Same as Xbox then 😉 And I hope you're not actually counting a timed exclusive like TR "exclusive" lol
Besides all Xbox has is halo anyway every year. It's like Mario now, there is always a halo and Mario game of some sort every year.
Yawn. No wonder those two consoles are collecting dust on store shelves 😂
+Jack The Ripper. lol petty , ps4 has maybe 2-5% more power or less. oh but you stupid fucks act like them 2fps really matter .
+PS4KING_82 good one
Lol beta version someone is salty as fuck and btw I beat it and it was smooth as hell ;)
This is the best Tomb Raider of the franchise! I recommend it to all the hardcore fans and new ones!
RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER: Ellie gone Rambo
Wow. The music at the very beginning and very end sounds awesome. Gotta look up those specific songs.
The pc version is coming next year too?
yeah, but early next supposedly, Q1 for pc- Q4 for ps4
***** nicee
TheGoldfish It should be decently optimized because i dont think Microsoft wants DX12 to look like laggy buggy shit
+TheGoldfish The last game had pretty good optimization. Don't see why this one won't.
I think it's coming January 2015 for PC
good review. came to watch this after playing game.
Lara is so cute ^.^ can't wait to play this along with handsome Nathan Drake 💋
one of those games I'll buy when it becomes significantly discounted
Possibly game of the year, Thanks Xbox!
lmfao what an idiot.
+hh keski Nice Joke :)
Ponies hating left and right LOL
+TitanAngel001 I have a 360, so I'm definitely not a ps fanboy, but this game looks meh... Definitely not GOTY
+hh keski You mean Crystal not Xbox
I love this reviewer, as he sounds so sophisticated and his game reviews are always succinct, understandable, and often impartial.
Background music sounds like inception: anyone know what the music is?
+devileye03
Thanks, mate. I have been looking for that piece of music everywhere.
Sorry? When did Nathan Drake search for the fountain of youth? He was looking for Iram of the Pillars, the Atlantis of the sands inUncharted 3, not the fucking fountain of youth? He's never searched for that in any of the games?
stupid gamespot
+hmood07 This game is very similiar to the last game
I'll find out soon enough :)
Do we know how long the timed exclusivity lasts? Will be picking this up for PS4 whenever it drops.
...Okay? I'm more than happy playing Fallout 4 tomorrow.
13 months
Square Enix, you traitor.
+Juan Amaya
It's a timed deal anyway. TR will still hit the PS4. Square can give the Xbox folks a one-year TR exclusivity as long as they're busy giving the PS side the exclusivity of *FFVII-Remake, DQ XI, Star Ocean 5, and Nier 2.*
Anyone knows the music playin in the beginning? Doesnt seem to come from offical soundtrack.
Where is the fallout 4 review!!
+Ciarán Teape 5am pacific on the 9th.
Alistair Robb GOD DAMMIT
It has a review embargo. It ends in a couple of hours.
THE- REAL-GAMER Its 8:14 on the tenth in the UK right now
+Peter Hates his Kidneys Capaldi But Doctor you can fix this. Get the TARDIS.
Whats the opening music?
Why would you ever buy this game when fallout 4 is out?
Would shut up about fallout 4 already god what so good about the game honestly
+komINgETSOme I can buy both.
+Qua dinero | King Quazy no
+d3fod lol
+PlayableGamez rip
Right because the og tomb raiders had such amazing narratives (sarcasm) and it's a reboot so yeah deal with it
Jacob Nelson What's narrative got to do with it you stupid-moron?
You fucking idiots talk out of your arse, since when did a: "Different control scheme equal bad?"
The plat-forming is auto-mated, i.e. meaning there's more input from the computer than there is from the player.
I feel the same about street fighter. get over it.
+Jason Orozco Sony funded Street fighter...
+Hurricaneroro and MS helped fund and publish Tomb Raider. Your point?
Alexander Albano-Payton Point is, without sony there wouldnt be street fighter 5 same with Tomb raider. Yall need to stop bringing the whole street fighter thing when its also coming to Pc.
+Hurricaneroro but it's not coming to xbox, that's the point of the comparison.
Dumbass
Jacob Nelson I'd argue that he's quite intelligent.
"And Nathan Drake...spent Uncharted 3 hunting for the fountain of youth."
Dude did you even play Uncharted 3? What the hell are you talking about?
Nathan Drake spent his whole life searching for the fountain of youth you fool. How dare you! How dareeeeeee you!
This sounds like an advert rather than a review. I've got no complaints about the game's quality, I'm sure it's very good, but something about this reviewer didn't convince me that he was speaking honestly.
What is the song used in the background? Is it from the Rise of the Tomb Raider score?
THANK YOU!!!
The graphics are some of the best I've ever seen. Really neat stuff, I'm sure it will be helluva fun as the previous one was.
Does anybody know what the music at the beginning of this trailer is called?
What's the name of the song that plays in the beginning of this video?
anyone know what the opening song is on the review? not on the games ost :(
***** thank you so much!!!
anyone know what the opening song is on the review?
Kevin VanOrd was an amazing reviewer and seemed like a great person, I thought no one could replace him, but Mike is doing a dam fine job
For someone who’s never played these games, would people suggest I jump in on rise of the tomb raider, or do I need to play the definitive edition tomb raider to understand story, context etc?
looks pretty good. didn't like the first one but I still look forward to playing this when it finally comes to PS4 or PC
Played uncharted 4 and now getting this game.
Just picked this up at GameStop on sale for $39.99 it's the best game I've ever seen worth full price
QuasiDgen - I own the definitive edition on ps4, and its buttery smooth dude
brettbc27 that's why the ps4 version sold so much better than the Xbox one version. Ps4 Had a constant 60.
brettbc27 No it didn't
+Derek Simmons It's going to be the same framerate that was a remaster.
HonestToCritic no mans sky sucks
Being an hardcore fan of Tomb Raider. I will just completely erase "Tomb Raider from my mind", and make a believe that it will launch on Q1 2016 on all platform. Until then , I will explore the world of fallout 4, destroy everything on Just Cause 3. And when anyone of my lovely gaming friends wants to save the universe i will join the fight on Star wars battlefront. Come on microsoft we gamers are more smarter than you think. ;)
Picking up an Xbox one in a few weeks. Really considering getting this alongside halo 5
Is it worth the full price without the multilayer? like is their enough content to do within the game itself?
Crystal Dynamics has done it again...
This is one of the best, if not the best looking game on consoles. Can't wait to finally play it.
it's just a shame I won't get to play this til next Year, damn it looks good
Not spoiling anything, the game is like the last one ,simply exciting and graphics is stunning ,the tombs are bigger and puzzles takes more time but still not as challenging as they said in interview. The story is great and there are some plot twists yet little predictable.Overall ,an amazing game except the ending 's not ...well less satisfying than last game.
Phenomenal and immersive graphics. Engaging story and slick gameplay. A formidable addition to the Tomb Raider saga. 9.5
I don't get why he said game play and story go together twice but didn't really branch off with it. He also didn't say how long he played for or the expected time for average players. The first one was short and I beat it in two days at 3 hours of play time.
This game does look really good. Halo and tomb raider, I think I should get my Xbox now!
One day I'll get to move on!
only on Xbox one
no its not
+fookslm and PC and ps4 later :D
only timed exclusive for Xbox one
+fookslm for a few months
It's on Xbox 360 too. Then PS4 and PC too.
I am so glad that this game is finally out for PS4!
been playing it since 2 days and having a blast with it
I think it even surpasses the first one.
I like how Lara is making such a great comeback this gen
the action is rly well paced btw shooting, puzzles and walking around discovering and climbing around in huge areas!
def. one of my fav games this gen
Lara is my fav action here besides tracer of course lol :)
This is a really good game, surprisingly much better than the reboot from 2013. Definately worth the wait for those of you who only ow a PC or a PS4.
Wow...a Gamespot score that actually matches what was said on the video. Most times they praise a game throughout the review, yet gives it a 7 or 8. Then the opposite happens where they destroy a game but still give it a 9.
what is the resolution and frame rate for this game?
Well, I think all this years playing old tomb raider games and custom levels got me well-trained cuz a few friends of mine think the puzzles are hard in this game but for me ,only 2 or 3 points took me a little longer . Btw,I turned that eagle vision off and I was playing on survival mode.
Well I'm playing tomb raider series now I finished the tomb raider (2013) and now I'm playing rise of tr and then I'll play shadow of tomb raider. I'm really excited
this is the most beautiful game I've ever played on pc. I played it on ps4 on a friends house and it looked like i was playing black ops 3 on ps3 lmao
looks amazing, I cant wait till it hits PC.
As a PS4 owner who doesn't like Fallout 4, I am upset this hans't come out on PS4 yet...
I had totally forgotten it was coming out until my friend showed it to me.
seems like it has expanded on the concepts of the amazing TR 2013 ... I'm sold
Name of the song at beginning???
A very nice combination of Zelda and Prince of Persia, uncharted was just a byproduct of the shooter genre... but It's the stealth aspects that makes this game so good. I mean you have that assassins creed feel to it. Toss in a bit of skyrim-crafting-type animal survival or something. Awesome!
the 20th anniversary version is available now on both platform , i played it on Xbox one, now i'm redoing it on ps4 pro , the game still looks superb , in 4K and high fps mode it's near perfection. too bad the game doesn't have HDR support... yet xD
Cant wait to play TOTY edition for ps4 next year. Good job crystal dynamics!
Sounds like it has an awesome soundtrack
Can i get the soundtrack used?
+devileye03 thanks for the reply. any ideas on how to dl this? i can't find on UA-cam or i would that way.
+devileye03 thanks again bud.
"Getting resources gets old after awhile though. Going up to trees and pressing the same button." Switch up buttons: noted.
Was so lost in the music and the beautiful graphics, that I did not hear a thing the reviewer said
This is the game that'll keep me busy this holiday. Glad it is reviewed well
For being a timed exclusive, it wad worth the wait to come on PS4 the next year
Whys majority of footage from first 30 mins of game.
+DarKcS2 I care. Not that I hate other developers, but I do care about the hard work each developer puts into their game.
*you're
