- The Stomp 6 is AirTurn’s latest wireless foot pedal creation. AirTurn is known for making foot pedals that are wireless, silent and durable with rechargeable batteries. But in this new pedal design, you can tell they’ve listened to the needs of performing guitarists. The Stomp 6 lets you amp up your rig with the power of an iPad running OnSong.
The Stomp 6 features an all metal design with six, stomp-style foot switches. These switches have a smooth action, but still provide the tactile feedback like you’d expect to find on your pedal board. In this video we review the AirTurn STOMP 6 and how to pair it with your iOS device. We'll cover how to enable the STOMP 6 and configure actions to perform in OnSong.

Glad to hear AirTurn are listening to people who used this in live stage settings. I currently use the AirTurn 105 with boss pedals. Not sure 6 'pedals' are needed. Shame they couldn't do a model with just 2 pedals for back and forward as that would be better than my current set up and nice and sturdy and compact.
Definitely let them know! I think this is their first foray into this design and if it does well, I'm sure they would be interested in other models.
Nice, just the battery shall be easy accessible, imho... I own a Airturn pedal and normally I am on a gig when the battery replacement is needed! My 0,02 from the field... ;)
Watching the whole video, now I know how to change the battery, that it
is green and there are rubber feet on the bottom LOL But don't know
what the pedal is used for!
Love Onsong. However in regard to this video. Would have been nice to list all the possible uses for the Stomp pedal.
That's the thing... it would be a huge list. In just OnSong alone, you can perform more than 40 actions. For instance, you can turn pages, navigate sets, start backing tracks or the metronome. You could also trigger scene changes to control stage lighting, run lyrics projection. Probably the most common use would be to send MIDI commands to control your stage setup. OnSong is a powerful MIDI controller so this lets you add those sorts of functions as well.
I'd also say, that's just in one app. The AirTurn foot pedal works with hundreds of apps so it's flexible in that it can do whatever those apps let you do.
Thanks, is there a link somewhere that would show all the options?
Sure! Check it out in our user manual here: onsongapp.com/docs/interface/menubar/foot-pedals/actions-menu/
Love the air turns, but there just feasible pricing
Is there an audible click when you press a switch? I know the video said smooth action, but it never addressed the sound of the pedal. Thanks!
Bob Adams there isn't a click, but it's not silent either. It does provide good tactile feedback however.
Why does it say you can bypass the battery with the 9v adaptor? The instruction manual specifically says NOT to use the plug-in power when a battery is installed.
Kevin Jones The video was completed upon the launch of the STOMP 6 with information from AirTurn’s engineering team before they were made aware of the issue in the electronics that could cause a problem. They unplugged the 9V battery in further models and added the sticker.
When using the battery how can you tell if it is going flat?
We recommend contacting AirTurn for more details, although I believe similar to other BT-106 module products, the LED light should change color/pattern to indicate low battery level. The new BT200|S6 which replaces the STOMP 6 uses the newer BT200 module which may indicate battery level more effectively and which is rechargeable with hundreds of hours of use per charge.
Can this pedal be used as an expression pedal by assigning 2 different buttons as Volume Up and Volume Down?
Thanks!
Jesse Pierce Yes! It will adjust volume by 6.25% with each tap.
So, will this AirTurn Stomp 6 work with any release of iPad? I have an iPad 2. I was interested in the AirTurn PED when it came out but realized it only worked with version 3 or higher.
To clarify, to use the AirTurn Stomp 6, all I need is the latest release of OnSong and any release iPad?
David Rogers Yes. The STOMP 6 uses the BT-106 module which is compatible with all models of iPad.
Thanks! Ordering today.
Oke that's very nice.
But it seems to much hassle to change the battery. There must be a better solution.
And for my needs (to) much pedals, and due to that a (to) large footprint.
You may want to look at the rest of the AirTurn line of products. This is specifically for guitarists looking to mount it to a pedal board. The AirTurn PED may work better for you. I have passed along your input to the AirTurn team and they are already looking into improvements and other sizes.
Oke. Thanks a lot for the answer.
Do you know if with this pedal in the app of AnyTune Pro can one of the switches can be used for changing the "Speed/Tempo" of the track?
OnSong is one of few apps that let you configure all six pedals of the STOMP 6. You would need to contact the developers of AnyTune to see what they support.
ok. thx!
Seriously, you have to remove 6 screws to replace the battery? How about an access panel that lets the battery slide out? Sounds like a great pedal other than that. Best get the a/c adapter!
We just wanted to review the pedal and aren't the manufacturer. We have passed our user's feedback and you can expect something to be announced at NAMM in a few weeks that I think you'll like.
Will this work with Tonebridge?
You would have to check with the developer of ToneBridge. They can easily add support for AirTurn pedals into their product.
This video was not very informative for actually understanding the functions each pedal can perform. Why did you just scroll through the options so quickly and not list them for us!? Had to pause video and try to read some of them. Very disappointing on song!
Jocelyn Oldham This was a product review and instructional. You can learn more about each option here: onsongapp.com/docs/interface/menubar/foot-pedals/actions-menu/
It’s just not feasible to cover all of those in one video.
Dårlig information. Alt for meget om skruer og batteri, og alt for lidt om pedalens egentlige funktioner og muligheder. Præsentationen virker meget uprofessionel.
Bad information. Too much about screws and battery, and too little about the actual functions and possibilities of the pedal. The presentation seems very unprofessional.
gaden0114 When the video was made, this was and still is important information since the product did not make this obvious. It was a product review. OnSong let’s you assign any 50+ actions to foot pedals so that would be pretty difficult to cover in a product review.
