This looks like a definite improvement over Dino Island. Basically “fixing” the parts of Dino Island that fell flat for me, or that I found overly complicated. It’s almost like this is Try 2 and they learned from the mistakes of the first one.
Actually, it says that the last person to train a raptor to respond to hand signal is the first player, but I'm presuming that was a late change after this prototype.
Hmm... seems like an easier to learn, more streamlined version of Dinosaur Island. I like it! I am just not yet fully convinced that I need both games in my collection :S
Would love to see an overview over all tiles. For now I am afraid it might be a little too less in the game for me to justify owning it besides DI. Are you covering Rawr 'n Write as well?
@@tantrumhousegames just saw that all of them are covered in the draft rulebook. www.dropbox.com/s/inpqgfpm64kg5bp/DinoWorld_rulebook_text.pdf?dl=0 Had hoped for a little more diversity. The jeep tour and meeple draft are interesting mechanics. I do miss the specialists though. And I did hope for custom Dino powers, but it seems that Dinos grouped in classes are quite the same again except for the different amount of DNA required (as in DI). Do you think it will be worth owning both DI and DW? I'm on the fence. Looking forward to see your live Playthrough.
those both have shorter game lengths. So it depends on if you are looking for shorter or longer play time and different themes/gameplay too. I personally like Dinosaur World a lot! (Kevin)
It seems like it's a second take on the same concept, sort of like Marco Polo II was for The Voyages of Marco Polo. I own DI and like it a lot, but this one seems to be a bit smoother and with a cleaner table presence. The jeep mechanism is new, and seems to add some strategy that doesn't exist in DI. (In DI there's a little strategy in how you place visitors that attend your park, but the variances aren't as big as they seem to be here with tile activation by the jeep.)
This is a totally different game. If you want to play a dino game right now then get dino island. If you are ok with waiting, then I'd recommend this one - Dinosaur World.
Neither you nor the rules really go over the objectives much....like what these symbols mean or how to complete them. Like 5 dino paws card....is this must have 5 dinos? And the one with each hexagon and two dino symbols....tiles on board?
@@tantrumhousegames thanks a bunch! And we referred to this video quite a bit for our first attempt at running through it. Thank you so much for posting!
Thanks for a DINORRRIFFFIC video, Tantrum House!
Great run through Mellissa, This does seam a bit more streamlined from Dinosaur Island. Thanks
thank you!!
Clear and succinct. Thank you.
I'll definitely be referring back to this when the game arrives. Really good 'How To Play' video. 👍
thank you!!!

ive been waiting all week for this ! :)
yay!! :-)

Thanks for the how to play. I wasn't sure how placing dinosaurs on the special buildings worked.
Thanks for a very easy and understandable tutorial!
Glad it was helpful -- Melissa
You have got board game rule explanations down to a fine art! The game looks goods.
thank you!!!
Sehr gut gemacht 😊
Möchte das Spiel unbedingt haben 😋

great vid

Seems almost like a closer to Duelosaur Island than Dinosaur Island. Hmm. Not sure why I’d want this if I have Duelosaur.

we are doing a live playthru Thursday night and will go over a lot of the tiles. :-) We aren't covering Rawr 'n Write.

Pretty good game
Great review! Ty
Dinoburbia. I'm in.
Thanks, do you like this better compared to Meeple Land or New York Zoo?

I don't have dinosaur island. Is this an upgraded version? Which one should I get?

If you are like me and hate bright colours then get Dinogenics
@@S.Kapriniotis Except you can't buy Dinogenics anywhere unless you catch someone selling theirs for a markup
@@egyptfreaka No idea what a markup is, but pity that you can't find it anymore :(

This looks like it has way too much admin and way too much complexity for me
