- This is a video on installing a clutch on a 1992 Yamaha xt225 (Serow). I apologize on not showing the clip where I use the special tool on installing the clutch. Thanks for watching and please watch my other videos.

Good info, I would like to add, the clutch adjuster you screw out moves the clutch arm on the opposite side of the engine. Once you get it threaded and all your springs on push that arm forward by hand (you don't have to push it hard, just get the slop gone) and you should see a notch on the arm and a guide line on the top of the engine, you want those to line up, adjust the screw as necessary to get there.
The only thing I think you forgot to mention was sharp edge out on the clutch separators. I forgot about the small disc so you helped me out. Thx!
Your welcome glad it helped you
I am using this video as the guide through to fixing the clutch on my 01 XT 225 Thank you for the video.
Andrew Giancola Yeah your welcome, if you have any questions about the installation please feel free to ask.
It's been awhile. Good to see a nice how to!
I know man, its the summer time and everybody is busy. But stay tuned more to come.
I love that song, im in albatraoz!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
6:08... jesus christ kid lol
🤣 for real
ok i'm a little confused, hoping you may know about this bike still since the video is a little old. at 7:20, do i just put the nut on the threaded piece, put the pressure plate on and screw it in until the pressure plate is flush with everything else or what? the manual has 0 info on this, any other bike iv'e had with this kind of clutch it usually tells you how many turns to do everything lol.
Hi, thanks for the video! Is this the same clutch as a ttr230?
I believe they are very similar, not sure if they are exact same, but they are super close in terms of parts comparability
Thanks for the video. Little hard to do holding a camera at the same time. I guess new springs when replacing the discs?
Yeh sorry about that I should have used a camera stand, and yes you should but I’m new springs everytime u do a clutch.
do i turn the screw counterclockwise to tighten my clutch or clockwise ?
My Yamaha xt 350 1994 has 5 clutch springs there are a lot of bikes that have 5
I took the clutch basket out and not can't allign it with the gears to put it back together. What do I do?
would this replacement be similar to a 99 tw200? I can't seem to find a video anywhere and id like to have one just for reference
Yes the Clutch on a 1999 Yamaha TW200 is the exact same as my 92 xt225.
Hey I just have a question. That large ring that is smaller and thinner than the rest of the plates, was yours a little bent or was it perfectly straight? Mine is bent so im assuming I need to replace it
Hey, thanks for the question, the one ring that was smaller and thinner than the others, on mine it was straight. But if you have just a little bend in it, it won't hurt anything, but if it's super thin and its warped badly, I would replace it. Was all of your clutch plates and disks worn or was it just that one ring? Hope this help you out.
Skecheyboy Well the rest of my clutch plates are fine, straight and in spec. But when i look at the parts diagram it calls this ring the clutch boss spring, so i guess it would make sense for it to be sort of bent. Also, mine is sort of simetrically bent if that makes sense. Thanks for the help
Nic Miller Yeah it doesn't seem to be that bad to me, but if you wanted to you can replace it. Glad I could help.
Can xt225 6 speed gear be compatible to convert the 5 speed gear to 6 from xt225?
I think they might have a differnt crankcase? Not 100% sure.
And you can use a impact that is what there made for lol If rebuild a lot of bikes and never ran into that nut comeing off and I use a impact lol
gotta be sooo sooo wet like dripping from her xDDD dude I'm dead nice video thanks man gonna do this too mine soon when it's all the way dead :D :XT-225 2001
lol yeah, good luck on your clutch installation!!
