Nice! Like you said, pretty much the most impossible ranking to tackle. While I still prefer those early albums, I literally love each and every album they have ever released. Flawless discography if ever there was one
I've been sleeping on Enslaved, I just started listening to them a couple of weeks ago. I hear lots of influences from Opeth, Borknagar, Moonsorrow, and even Wilderun. Of the 7 albums I've heard, my favorite is either Riitiir or In Times. Lightening is my favorite track, but Ethica Odini, Kingdom, Thurisaz Dreaming, Building With Fire, In Times, Death in the Eyes of Dawn, Roots of the Mountain, and Return to Yggdrasil are early highlights too.
I've liked Enslaved since the '90s and appreciate their evolution very much. My favorites are Ruun and Vertebrae, mostly just because they are the ones that came out around the time I became a fan. This is an unquestionably great band, but all the long proggy songs start to run together for me. I can put on any Enslaved album and enjoy it, but I have to admit that for probably 12 of these, I can’t really remember what any of the individual songs sound like.
Good list, was hoping Mardraum would have climbed much higher but nice to see some RITIIR love (Roots of the Mountain is insane). Btw check out their demo called "Yggdrasil" especially the self titled track on it called "Enslaved - bonus track". Sounds like something out of Darkthrone's Unholy Trilogy.

Still love 'em. Definitely their most "to the point" release.

Mardaum will always be my favorite. that album is the perfect mix of the progressive and the old.10 out of 10 masterpiece. It was considered very progressive when it came out and to my ears it doesn't sound that off from Ruun.
I expected the early albums to be very high in your list. They are quite low on mine. But then they are the only 90s Black Metal vinyls in my collection together with Windir. So I don't really hate them. 1. Below the Lights (The Dead Stare, As Fire swept..., A Darker Place - Perfect) 2. Heimdal (Behind the mirror, Forest Dweller, Caravans, Heimdal - until now it's album of the year) 3. Mardraum (strange album, but so interesting) 4. In Times (title track, Building with Fire) 5. Utgard (my first album by Enslaved. The reason, why I now have everything on Vinyl) 6. Eld (793) 7. Monumension (Convoys to Nothingness, Vision) 8. Axioma Ethica Odini (Giants, Lightning, The Beacon) 9. E (very consistent, but not much stand out tracks) 10.ISA (mixed bag, some stuff outstanding, like Yggrasil, some songs are average) 11.Riitiir (Root of the Mountain, Thoughts like Hammer) 12.RUUN (good album, but no outstanding tracks like on ISA or Riitir) 13.Vertebrae (good, but quite similar to ISA or Ruun) 14.Frost (the title is program here. Monumension probably is the hidden gem of them all. Listen to it first time in at least couple years it's better sleeping gods,in times and vertebrae in my opinion. Between Enslaved and Burzum are my favorite black metal groups. Both are two of my favorite bands. Rittir is my facial album by them also. Not a bad moments on it.

I've taken a real liking to Hordanes Land lately. I know it's an EP but I'd put in my top 10 easily.
