Wow. Lived around Painesville for almost 20 years and don't recognize most of those places; it's changed so much.
Except for the streets. Most of the potholes have grown up. LoL

Lived in Mentor during this era and Painesville was for a big day shopping or Saturday matinee at the Lake Theater.

I remember Jerry's restaurant, was my dads favorite. They use to go "duck pin" bowing in Painsville.

I think that locomotive is one of the famous NYC Niagaras, one of the latest, most efficient steam locomotives, of which none were saved. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NYC_Niagara

In one of the pics there were so many cars! Not use to that at all! It was hard in some pics to determine where it was taken because so much has changed, even since I was little.

When Painesville was Painesville, I was born here in 62 when it was American, it was all White and Black Americans and no illegal aliens anywhere, now it sucks. Every place of business was American, United States born workers, again all White and Black people. I will tell you I love Mexican and Chinese food but this town was so American there was not one single Mexican or Chinese restaurant in town, I never seen Rice in my entire child hood until I joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, I cannot remember one single time seeing any other race but White and Black in Painesville. I went to Walnut middle school and Harvey high school.

Somebody has apparently pirated your video. Do a search for your title "Painesville Ohio in the 50s and 60s".
This is a wonderful video. Sad how a once-busy small city was destroyed by urban renewal and the malls.
