When you rewatch it and ignore the funky design, it kinda hits hard. Imagine if that robot was a man with a bomb strapped to his chest, knowing he isn’t gonna come back alive. I like how they tried to personify the robot, just a little bit, to get your head ticking.
One unsettling thought Ive had about those G14s they seem to have a decent amount of intelligence I theorize that the AI's in those robots were taken out of American civillian robots from their original bodies possibly even Sims, reduced in intelligence and put into those walking bombs as a way to get rid of them. This scene illustrates (probably not in the most subtle way) the pro vs anti sentient ai stuff going on in this movie. The anti ai humans use robots as nothing more than running bombs. The pro ai side sees ai robots as equal to humans. They hesitated when they saw an unarmed robot running toward them, but then realized it is carrying a timed explosive. Its kind of ironic that the humans are using psychological warfare on ai robots when they don't themselves see ai as human.
Now if your looked at this another way, if you saw the robot as a human person with a bomb strapped to his chest, it really changes how it feels. Imagine if that was a real person who had a family.

This movie had a lot of “style over substance”. Like those blue tracking markers that tag enemies… it’s a cool visual but in reality, why would you deliberately let your enemy know they’ve been targeted and give them an opportunity to run for cover?
This is like an incredibly sophisticated solution to a problem that was already addressed like 40 years ago by rocket propelled grenades. It's a cool dramatic set piece and all but it's just so, so stupid.
Now seriously, what practicality of a bomb with arms and legs to run into enemy line when they can just shoot missiles or explosive artillery rounds? Also, they don’t like having robots but they’re okay for ones to commit suicide?
Probably really close range guided explosive the same as suicide drones in ukraine Giving squad level poorsman guided projectile that can take out specific hard to reach targets Rockets are better,but those are direct fire (they go in a straight path) so a enemy taking cover can be harder to reach The bomb robot sounds like the kind of stuff you send to clear a very specific fortified position that air support and artillery cant break in time and you cant fire straight into it without getting shoot back (all those underground labs for example) Realisticly it would be better if they used drones or smaller robots (think remote control cars with explosives on them) for said task
Such a huge bomb for a little explosion. I can only guess that's because it's mostly armour and designed to reach into a guarded camp. But then again they seem to lack real guided or even dumbfire projectiles which would do the same thing
It reminded me of the Dambusters film with the bouncing bombs and all the arsenal firing against them to stop their ultimate goal of blowing up the dams.
G14s arent suicide bots by default. I believe they are just semi sentient servants capable of mundane tasks. Why else give them full motion arms and fingers.

Programming or not it’s no different than thousands of humans who’ve died from cowardly orders or just being moved to the front to protect the people with more stripes. @@AltimaNEO To be honest, those are Extremist commandos working for nomad. I think that following the A.I ban, many of their weapons would be "dumb down" to prevent hacks. So drones could be a problems if they loose the control of them. Artillery is pretty much obsolete in a guerilla style warfare. And they have aircraft, but maybe they don't have the logistics to send an aircraft on a foreign country like that on a short notice, and why would they when they have nomad ?
Honestly all this shit in the movie's made no sense to me because in this film all of Asia became one, New Asia! If Asia became one that is literally a mondern day Mongolia Empire america wouldn't be able to do half the shit they did in this movie and considering the A.I. was invented in asia and on top of that invented the technological messiah who's a technopath how the hell were they not able to fight back how is it they don't have a big enough army 2 of the top 3 biggest armies are in asia and on top of that they would have the most nukes. Notice that the first one kinda hesistates when given the order and then stalls (saying goodbye) before running for the enemy... the second one just acts immediately.

Why didn't the rebel group just shoot the bride so it would plummet to the ground, they not only let 1 across but a 2nd manages to get through too 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀. They also have stormtrooper aim but the thing shrugs of bullets like nothing and it pushed someone too 😭😫. I loved the design of these guys being so cylindrical and goofy cmon they could be toppled over LOL. But that line though "Command Confirmed, goodbye, it's been a pleasure to serve you ma'am." As she ignores it and still yells commands at the robot and he runs to his death without a 2nd thought, so sad, so mindless. Reminds me of "Good soldiers follow orders" from SW BB. The G14 was the BEST CHARACTER in the movie!

They’re likely actual fucking people. They banned AIs entirely and the only tech they have are those brainscans. They’re likely freshly dead troops.
I really like how in the movie they don’t make the ai the villain but represent how bad humanity can be over their own mistakes

I thought it was a shoutout to Star Wars as he directed Rogue One. G14 is R2D2 as a suicide bomber.
