One of my favorite movies of all time is the 2007 crime thriller, Zodiac. The movie, based on a true story, focuses on the journey of Robert Graysmith as he tries to uncover the truth behind the infamous Zodiac killer. The Zodiac Killer is a pseudonym for the 1960s serial killer who would commit his crimes around North California. This movie is extremely relevant, for throughout the 20th century and today their have been hundreds of serial killers in the country who carelessly kill and do not see the dignity of the human person. The movie also shows attitude awareness as well, for Roberts attitude shifts throughout the movie when trying to solve the mystery. The suffering that is shown throughout this movie is widely applicable to the average person. Most of us obviously do not encounter serial killers, however we do encounter people who do not dignify human life, and to me that is the main reason why Robert Graysmith is so obsessed with finding out the truth of the Zodiac Killer in this movie. I personally have an obsession with crime thrillers, for it is movies like this that truly have me on my toes the whole time, obsessing over what the truth is. The balance of emotions throughout the film is really powerful as well. Another thing that I enjoy about this movie is that it doesn't focus too much on the horrors of serials killings, of course it does have scenes that can be gruesome but that is to just give context of how evil and lost of a soul the Zodiac Killer was. The film to me focuses on bringing justice to this mass murderer that caused terror on the people of Northern California in the late 60s.
So, a couple of things 1. The survivor seen the killer (which he later identified was Leigh). Why didn’t they ask the survivor to positively ID him sooner? 2. Why would that not be enough evidence for an arrest? 3. And if Darlene’s friend (the one in prison) seen Leigh during the painting party why couldn’t they just tell her to positively ID him from a photo?
About n.3, my guess - The whole confirmation process that the zodiac was at Darlen’es party, went through Robert, the cartoonist of the newspaper, an not by the police, which leaves this whole process unrecordable for detectives work. But, even if the police did put work into checking with Robert all the details he collected and constructed, I assume Darlene’s friend had no anything close to clear image of the zodiac face, as it was 22 years before and was just a weird scary guy for her... unlike Majoo the survivor, who will probably be haunted by the face forever :(
Heres the thing, michael mageau, the survivor from the blue rock spring shooting was asked to describe zodiac in 1969 and he said the killer was 5'8, 195 pound with light brown hair. After that he left the city and when the authorities finally tracked him down and questioned him in 1991, roughly a decade later after the release of robert graysmith's zodiac novel he described the killer as 6'1, 250 pounds which he later confirmed to be leigh allen but due to his inconsistency they couldn't believe in his testimony, not to mention the fact that he was blinded by the flashlight and couldn't possibly have seen the killer for more than 5 seconds. Plus the three teenagers who saw the killer clearly during the paul stine murder described the killer, he looked nothing like allen and since those kids got a much better view of killer, there description would obviously be taken more seriously over Michael's and i honestly don't blame him, poor kid was very traumatized after the shooting it must have been hell for him and he wanted the killer behind the bars as soon as possible.
First, Maybe because of some rules and laws at that time, they were incapable of doing it. If you don't remember there were lot of political issues that time which even exists now. Second, It wasn't enough because handwriting was the main issue, it was not matching and also it plays very important role for catching the killer. I just re-watched movie 7th time 30 minutes earlier and also read some sources from internet. That's why I thought it could help you.
The fact this movie is actually a true story makes it even better & what happened to the girl with the baby that survived getting killed by the zodiac when she jumped out the car she would've been the missing piece to the puzzle & oh yeah don't talk to strangers is dangerous.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. No matter how many times I watch it, I'm always transfixed. Like Heat, it's a very long movie where, when it ends, I'm saying, "wait, it's over already??"

Everyone:talking about the actors. Me:confused about how its not talking about zodiacs (♈♉♊♋♌♍♎♏⛎♐♑♒♓) Aires,Taurus,Gemini, Cancer,Leo,Virgo,Libra,Scorpio,Ophiuchus,Sagittarius,Capricorn, Aquarius, pisces.
Finchers best movie IMO, best of the 00s & one of the best of the 21st century. It’s near perfect. So rewatchable. The acting is so understated, especially from Ruffalo who gives his best performance ever in my eyes. Tremendous movie. One of my favourites.
....and THEN comes the Monster podcast about Zodiac and blows up everything you thought was true about the case. It’s not my quest in life to prove that ALA was not the true Zodiac, so please don’t beat me up over that (the movie’s great, I’m sure), but it’s based on the word of the Zodiac book author, and apparently he was far less than honest about the evidence. There are people interviewed in the podcast that are like, “Graysmith’s book claims that we had a conversation but that just never happened.” Not to mention that the palm prints didn’t really match and there was lots of total misinformation circulated by the book, such as the accusation that ALA’s family thought he did it and turned him in (completely untrue). Sounds like the case wasn’t even almost solved and an innocent man (though apparently a strange one) was hounded for 50 years.
@ I would have to disagree here. If someone as clever and smart as someone who could kill and then email letters to newspapers and the police, you'd think he'd have the ability to know that he would leave a fingerprint behind or know he was sending DNA straight to the police. It only makes sense that he would have someone else lick the stamps (someone close to Leigh said that he "hated the taste" and so he would have other people do it for him) and leaving a print/glove inside a taxi where you just killed someone is amateur. He obviously planted it so that there would be no physical evidence and the evidence that they would have would be from someone else. The dude that saw him face to face and survived literally chose him almost immediately, and the countless number of "coincidences" and his own mistake on his birthday is enough to convince me it was him. Plus Graysmith stopped receiving calls after Leigh died.
@tahoemist98 sorry I meant that he sent letters to the police, not emailed them. But I agree with you, I don't know how other people don't think it was this man.

People are all mentioning Iron Man, Hulk and Mysterio, but they are forgetting that the actor who played Dr. Hannibal Lechtor in "Manhunter" is also in the clip. Fava beans anyone?

Adrian ML wat does that mean?
Finchers best movie IMO, best of the 00s & one of the best of the 21st century. It’s near perfect. So rewatchable. The acting is so understated, especially from Ruffalo who gives his best performance ever in my eyes. Tremendous movie. One of my favourites.
I wonder if the author was ever concerned he'd be the next murder victim
Im here right after watching the TikToker who said it was his grandpa, the police investigator, all along

....and THEN comes the Monster podcast about Zodiac and blows up everything you thought was true about the case.
Where to find the podcast?
Robert is such a hardworker. He set high goals. Paul and David prolly thinking that he is persistent.
*Watching Jacksepticeye playing "This is the zodiac speaking"*
Jack: Watch the movie!
Me: I'ma watch the trailer first
I got here after Jacksepticeye too but I don’t believe I should be here, I am young boy...
I'm also from Seán's video. Hello!
The trailer takes like two turns. It’s awkward when the electric guitar comes in. I remember liking this movie
I bet the Zodiac killer went to watch this movie.
The most likely suspect died before its release tho
Leigh Allen was discounted, the DNA didn't match the letters or the print from the cabbie so whoever it was it certainly wasn't Allen
