    Absolutely loved this one! My wife and I rented a boat out of Blackwater Meadows Marina from ABC Hire Boats and traveled up the Llangollen all the way up tp the Marina in Llangollen. We then had High Tea aboard the Steam Train there and rode about an hours ride North I believe, then back. Walked around the quaint little town there and spent the night at the marina, which if I recall, was only 6 pounds. We so thoroughly enjoyed crossing the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct the second time, then pounded are pins in just south of the Tunnel in Chirk. We walked to the Chirk Castle, Wales version of Downton Abbey I think, and because they heard it was my 60th Birthday, they served us complimentary High Tea in the Castle with scones! Wow, two high teas in two days! The staff at Chirk Castle were amazing and treated this American like I was royalty. I cannot say enough about ABC Hire Boats, they were FANTASTIC in EVERY respect! This was my most memorable vacation ever. Sadly, because of the current Covid crisis, we had to cancel our plans of a return Hire Boat trip this year, but hope to be back in 2021, assuming things return to normal. You guys did such an awesome job filming this one, the drone footage was spectacular. Thanks so much for this one!

    A lovely video. I went across the Pontcysyllte in the late 70's with my first ex wife,,,,in truth she my only ex-wife,,,,,, and this one will never be an ex!! It was the most terrifying experience as I cannot do heights!! At that time, there had been a landslide between Llangollen and the Trevor Basin, so we had to turn around and do the blydi thing all over again!! The week we had on the canal was an incredible experience.... We have had a new PC and discovered episodes of your that we hadn't seen!!! We love every one of them and my Mrs - Japanese implores me to "Rike" every one,,,- She is Japanese,,,,Which we do! She also said to me that Debbie, You have a wicked laugh - 素晴らしい笑い -which means a stunning or amazing laugh,,,Which I agree. Glad to see your recovery, young lady!! You are lucky to have the "old guy" beside you. We really do enjoy your content! Mark has said,,,,As popular as a fart in a lift,,,several times. When I translated this to her,,,she didn't stop laughing for 10 minutes!! Honestly, the Japanese love bodily function humour! Thank you both and love from Japan.

    Breathtaking scenery. It was so idyllic looking it could have been a movie backdrop for a tale of magic woodlands, streams, and valleys. Walt Disney couldn’t have “imagineered” the like. Would love to see that in full on 4K someday.

Please keep up the great videos and as always stay safe and healthy. By the Way if things here across the pond keep getting worse I may just move myself and Wife to Marry Ole England. Sorry about losing the video, this was still enjoyable to watch, thanks for it. I've been working in IT for a long time and a common saying we use again and again is "Storage is cheap". With that saying in mind you should consider keeping your working files around for some time after you need them, often we are keen to clear the HD space up for the next job, that's fine and you can keep doing that but clear it up by copying to a external drive. I use folders for each week or each month using a YYYYMM type format so the operating system naturally sorts the folders in date order, then once a month or so I just delete the folders from previous months.

    Debbie, you didn't look fazed at all by the Ponty! Firm hand on the tiller, and the other keeping track of Alfie and Bonnie, and steady on looking forward. Mark, great video, so if it was whacked together, you did a fine job. Thanks again for taking us along, and sharing your trips with us. Stay safe, take care and I hope you have great weather for the rest of the time in the basin and the return trip!

      @welldeckdiaries5610  3 роки тому +1

      Cheers Shaun, It wasn't until we crossed and I had to prise the tiller from Debbies grasp that I realised how uncomfortable she was about crossing. I always look over the edge of things like "as long as I spread my weight and belly flop on landing I'll be ok 🤣😂"

    When you go across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on your return journey if you haven't already. As you go over the 2/3 arches over the River Dee look at the base of the railings and you will see what looks to be a drawer handle, This is what is used to raise the 'plug' or sluice gate that drains the aqueduct.
    The Llangollen, as we know, is just a navigable reservoir feeder for Hurleston Reservoir.
    Loving your vlogs.

    The vlog was fantastic. You missed a bit out from Chirk Tunnel to the Old Lime Kilns but that's no biggie! You can show me as much footage of the Ponty & the narrows to Llangollen as you want. It's the most stunning piece of countryside. We only discovered it 4 years ago when our son went to University in Wrexham just down the road. It was the Llangollen that introduced us to The Cut and the boats which we now adore and hope one day to own. It's breathtaking. Hope you walk up to the Chainlink Bridge and to Horseshoe Falls. That way Mark will understand why he's not making much progress! It's called a current Mark and the Llangollen has a very strong one!! 😉😄😄

    Great movie, no wonder your films are normally so good, if that's what you can achieve in a hurry!

    Thank you for the vlog! I cruised the Llangollen Canal in the summer of 1972, so this brought back some wonderful memories!

      It didn't change much, although the basin just beyond the aqueduct was almost empty when I was there, and it looked packed in your video!

    Excellent photography. The aerial shots are superb and capture the magnificent scenery so well. I reckon this is one of the best vlogs you have done.
