If you cut a hole in the bottom, you could slide it over your seat post

Pretty cool idea man! Does remind me of a Saw 2 torture device?

I wonder if we could just glue some foam ,like a piece of pool noodle around the edge?

Do you think people would buy a kit so they just have to put it together?

Bolts galvanized to prevent rusting? Drill holes in bottom seams so water doesn't gather?

Used stainless steel hardware to help with corrosion. You can drill air holes in the side and weep holes the bottom, but most of the time I store with the lid off to make sure any bucktails or tinsel baits dry out.

Nicely done. Lakewood boxes are ridiculously priced. 200-300 dollars for a box to put things in? No thanks. I've always just used the big Plano boxes but have been wanting a hanging box, probably going to try this bucket method.

Thanks for the comment! Lakewood boxes are nice, no doubt, but I've always held off because of the cost. I guess I'd rather buy a few more baits, or maybe another tank of gas. The bait buckets are nice for boat hopping if you ever go fishing with a friend. 18-20 slots are enough for a day or a few sessions on the water. The footprint your baits take up in the boat is pretty well defined, and gives you quick access to stow baits when not in use. Keeps your baits organized and makes it easier to move around the boat when you need to bag a big fish!
