I have a Mountfield RS100 stopped working flooding fuel everywhere. I was about to go and buy a new mower and came across a couple of your videos... decided to have a look at the mower before binning it and found the float in the carb was full of fuel.😲 New float cleaned everything put back together and now have a great working mower...👍 Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Brilliantly.

Lovely profit on a great mower, best bit is selling on marketplace as no fees !!
Absolutely Edward
Recently my Briggs 35 Classic had a cracked intake manifold. It wasn't running poorly but I still decided to replace it. Works great at our allotment and always starts 2nd pull.
Thanks for a great video. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Daniel
Hi mate when I get in the mower shop I will watch as I work
Get a big coffee Mick!
As for a cut pull cord a doddle to replace but you can use a power drill with a ratchet socket to start the motor up from the top - much easier than sweating the pull cord :)
Excellent video. And exactly what I have been looking for to help me fix my mower
Super video as always. Just serviced my brings classic. Changed the springs for the first time in 4 years. Made such a difference. ( I had previously cut and stretched the springs but they had it. Used a £6 kit from eBay. Included new filter , plug's, springs, diagrams and fuel pump. Hopefully will last for two years
Well done Peter! top work
Good job 👍🏻I would buy from you after all that work well done great video
You were right, that was absolutely epic! Thanks for all your hard work on this video.

You are using the right tool for the sump bolt mate
Cheers!
Great video. I have never seen those mountfield mowers here in the states
Thanks a lot!
Youve inspired me to give this a go @mower man!
I stopped for a while but now I’m selling my sp470 and I was looking at the carb
I’ve replaced the diaphragm on my 500 series twice in two weeks with cheapie imports off eBay and it still surges - if anything it’s running worse. First one I could definitely see petrol coming out between the carb and tank, the second replacement I’m not 100% (I have real poor close up vision) but I think it’s the same. Thing is, one minute it’s running fine, the next it’s revving up and down. I tried the link for the genuine B&S diaphragm and it isn’t working. Could you post it again? And thanks for the videos, not looking to buy and sell just want to get my own mower running well but I am enjoying tinkering, even unsuccessfully - wouldn’t have the confidence to even try before 🤷🏻👍
Legend Paul, keep up the excellent work mate. 👍
Cheers Jon
Very useful video. I inherited the same engine as the one you're servicing here. Have replaced the gasket and diaphragm, but still not having luck with running it. Any ideas what to check?
When I prime the engine with petrol, it starts for 1-2 seconds, smokes like mad, and then it shuts off. As if it's not pulling in any fuel. Mower sat for a long time and oil seems to be everywhere, including leaking some where on the exhaust side. Wondering if oil got somewhere it shouldn't have and is now not allowing the fuel to travel into the engine?
Another great tutorial. Thanks..
Thanks biggaspirit
Nice job stampy , took me 5 attempts to get through it though (war and peace proportions)
Cheers Jim!!good work
Great video we’re do you get gaskets from the like don’t work inspired to service mine 👍
Hi do u know how to replace the rear axle
hi can you help i have a hp 474 mountfield that has a few problems. i am pretty sure the engine mounts have sheared of whilst mowing the lawn, it need a recoil wire as its shorter and i over filled the oil and it now puff the magic dragon!!! she is a bit poorly can you help or do you do a personal message ?
Great video. ... great instructions.
Can you do my lawn once I've serviced my mower please 😆
Hello where would I be able to purchase a throttle lever and cable assembly for a Briggs and Stratton? I know you don’t like them but I keen to have one on mine. Cheers
Good video Paul . Sooty wand classic Lets get busy.
Izzy Wizzy Pete!
@@MowerMan Let's get busy.
First-class video, I have a Mountfield HP 470 and it's leaking oil through the exhaust... one thing I noticed, the lawnmower had been left tipped up ( not sideways but up on its front wheels) and I noticed oil on the garage floor .. what could be causing the oil leak ?
Nothing run it for 20 it will burn off
Fantastic video
Thanks Ron! It's a bit of an epic!
Right got a no runner for 15 quid. Sprig n Stratton hp 470. Just dosnt fire up got fuel etc etc what else could it be? I love you vidios by the way
Thanks David you need to service the carb and change the diaphagm and gasket. Pretty easy to do! Good luck
I think the square is correct for removing the drain plug
Amazing vid thanks ,,,,
Radiator key for the oil plug should do the job
use a ratchet extension joint for the oil plug.. perfect fit
AHA YES!!! Thanks
Hi. Just thought I'd add, Citroen sump plug tools are a square plug. I've ended up with 2 different sized citroen square tools over the years. I'm sure one of them is really close to a socket set drive.
Stayed with you great video
Well done Norms Mowers! Superfan!
great video again but why didn't you start the engind on your bench.
Because it had no blade on.
The petrol tank cap can cross thread some times
Yeah it's annoying that!
Looks like a new mower
How much is a service on average
Did you paint the engine block with hammerite ???
Yes
Trying to get handle off and the nuts are spinning inside the plastic casing. How the hell do you get them off?
Usually just unscrew? sound like the inner plast has broken
@@MowerMan they're rusted so bad that the plastic has gone before the rust...
I presume they're rusted that is
Good job
Thanks
Nice video Paul, but it comes across that you are in too much of a hurry, hence that's why you forgot to tighten up the front bolt on the petrol tank, just my opinion.
Hello, I have done this mower business also some time and I have experienced some carb issues; after changing the diaphgarm and gasket the engine runs rough, rich fuel. Sometimes when I leave it for few days, it runs better. Any ideas?
Not sure tbh but I often find the same
@@MowerMan Ok, its quite a big issue for me. Do you think thats one of those carb leakage issue? havent tried the double diaphgram yet.
Can I ask a question. I've just serviced my b&s mower and replaced the foam air filter with a new one. Do I need to oil it?
Put a very light coat on. It stops the dust getting through
Hi mower man do you remember me I’m Ollie man from years ago😂
Yes Ollie! Hope you are doing ok!
@@MowerMan I’m doing good thanks hope everything’s well with you and your family👍
super vid
Thanks Chris
Another excellent video!! This must be the best one out there, you've covered so much and the tips about getting it running right were great. How do you think you put a hole in E.T?
I'm not having a Yorkshire man's paid £130 For a mower 😁😁
He was Scottish actually!
I'm with you
Hi Mower man I'm actually am servicing one of them at the moment 😂👍🏻
Good luck!
Wind vane bolt shaft needs lube👍
