    I especially like the combo kitchen island/bench. So clever. There is an impressive amount of storage in such a small space. I like that she kept favorite pieces like the secretary and the 50s dinette.

    You might want to consider getting a bed with drawers below the mattress. Its a great way to utilize space that would otherwise go to waste. Having lived in Europe it is not uncommon there. Otherwise a very nice small condo.

    To those not-so-nice comment towards the host in this video. First,, Average per square ft price in Toronto Condo market is $900. So she bought it right at the market price, even lower. Therefore she is not stupid. This is the reality of Toronto. Furthermore, a new 38-storey tower is going to get erected by 2020 right next to mey condo. 79% of the 410 units are 1 bedroom apartments, and only 12% are 2-bedrooms. So the host made the smart investment in a small cond, which is the trend now as land is getting rarer and pricer.

    Why do they build balconies? Why not build units larger without useless outdoor space which is not used for 8 months because of frigid Toronto weather. Cute place for one person.

    • @thisgoogleaccount5009

      Paul Short - a balcony is not equivalent to a larger unit. Building larger units cost considerably more money than just building a balcony...

      im an electrician doing most of the new condos in toronto, theyre not all like that, it's actually the more expensive ones with the exposed concrete, usually they grind them smooth and put a clear coat on them unlike hers, you get an extra tiny bit of space that way too, because they don't have to stud out and drywall after it's nothing but something

      that's a rip-off for 500,000 I thought this thing was like a hundred thousand even that's too much. There's no way in hell in the future going to live in downtown Toronto. probably going to have to live far from the city which is fine but your joke is funny sad part is you're not wrong.

    • @Macky1101
      @Macky1101 6 років тому +1

      The government is responsible for the cost of housing and everything else in Canada. Too much taxes in everything. Had they kept the interest rate at its historical average of 12%, we would not have 500 sq ft shoe boxes costing $500,000. Cheap money = more buyers = low inventory = high competition = high prices/gouging = no return on deposits/saving = cannot save = borrow cheap money to invest = too many investors/speculators. But now if you increase the interest rate, then you create a sub-prime lending situation like the US pre-2008.

    0:05 "Smaller than many hotel rooms"... Huh?.. she either needs her head checked, her eyes checked. The average hotel room differs from price range to price range and she'd have to be renting the deluxe suites or penthouses to get anything over 200 square feet. This makes this.... so called, "expert's", expertise in question. Way too many self-proclaimed, 'experts', out there. Even worse when we find out the so called, 'expert', has no training or diploma or any piece of paper from a accredited school or institute clearly stating their qualifications.
    Simply Googling her and we come up with her schooling on a Wiki page... hmm graduated from, "Radio and Television Arts"... so that qualified her to be a writer for a food magazine? Her other credits include Treehouse, YTV, and TVO... so she's now a realty expert? Does she have a license... or is she some self-proclaimed designer who didn't actually design anything because she hired someone else to do it.
    I'm a chef from a family of restaurateurs, cooks and chefs... I went to a culinary school and got my red seal certification. I also have a diploma in Graphic Design and have a love for designing floorplans. I've been cooking for more than 30 years, but you don't see me going around calling myself an expert marksman or gun for hire... ludicris... smh...

    • @thisgoogleaccount5009
      @thisgoogleaccount5009 6 років тому +1

      Well, you could call yourself an expert chef but you choose not to... why are you hating?
      500sq ft is smaller than the average hotel room in Toronto, not sure where you’re getting this info from but I honestly think you have no clue why you’re talking about and just spiting this lady because of your jealousy
      You have a design diploma but guess what? I have NO degree and work as a software engineer after having taught myself EVERYTHING and designers wish they had my skills. Choke on that fool
