    "You're ruining our fantasy, with the intrusion of a little reality."
    Beautifully put

      It's the same in every facet of life.
      Nobody wants to know the reality of how their food is produced.
      I know the reality of the animal killing horror they call food!
      This is why I'm
      vegan.
      Ignorance is a blissful existance unless you're the victim!

      +Brian Collins What is a 'pomposs'? At least he had the courage to say what he thought, that's integrity. Was he an ass? I don't know, I never met the man...Did you?

    • @steamjunky5894
      @steamjunky5894 8 років тому

      +James Lee He certainly is genuine about his concern but i disagree with him. I don't think Being represented by fiction or even the media is damaging to a person.. Just because something is offensive doesn't mean it really mean anything anyway.
      I've been offended by things a ton of times, doesn't mean it matters.

      >Eyefold surgeries have sky rocketed
      On what planet?
      >eating disorders
      These precede any sort of social stigma regarding body weight.
      And I actually am a pretty big guy myself. how is it anyone's fault?
      I got hazed to hell for it in school but I eventually just got over it. One must learn to accept one's self AND the negative baggage that comes with it. not just demand everything you don't like about something goes away.

    Talk shows aren't like this anymore. Neither the host nor the guest are under pressure to speak in rapid-fire bits. Space is permitted for a conversation to unfold. Intelligent conversation, too. Brando is free to speak slowly and to collect his thoughts in silence, whereas today watch chat shows in which everyone has prepared what they plan to say.

    Marlon was truly pointing out issues that still exist today. I wish celebrity interviews were still like this, where they were free to speak on political or social issues.

    • @mrangsta

      +Pizz “Pizzizle” izle True. It's like 1984, if you have ever read that. It's a fictional book, of a Dystopian future; but it holds ground in the real world today. We believe we have free speech, and we can do what we want, but no one can do what Marlon did. Like you said, if you dare mention any of this, you will quickly be swept away. The media love the celebrities who quack like ducks, talking about rubbish, like sheep.

      Nayely Sofia --It’s really interesting to put forth what ALL shows are, from ‘Law & Order’ to ‘Sponge Bob Squarepants’ is to sell something while being distracted & entertained at the same time. ‘Celebrities’ play along with this whole premise, selling themselves as funny, likeable or whatever as well as their latest movie/book/show or sport. Then the rarity comes along who doesn’t like being a product and not wishing to sell or push anything upsets the whole apple cart. It’s refreshing, back then and the even rarer times-now.

    Marlon Brando was one of the greatest actors and activists we have seen since the 60's and we need him more than ever now. Mr. Brando was a real human being who had compassion for all people and helped the Native Americans. He boycotted the 1973 Oscars and allowed Sacheen Littlefeather to speak on his behalf while exposing the bad treatment of American Indians in the Movie Industry.Marlon Brando was much more intelligent than his scripts allowed him and was pure Genius. What an interesting life he had and history he left us. Research Marlon Brando. God Bless him! See other interviews by Larry King as well. (Movies: Mutiny of the Bounty, Sayonara, Missouri Breaks, Godfather, etc.. are just a few of his greats)

    This man was one of the greatest actors of all time and yet this is one of the least most impressive qualities about him. He is incredibly sensitive and empathic to other people's plight, totally unselfish, and courageous enough to stand up and fight for those less fortunate, even though he is the one that will bear the consequences for these actions. Incredible human being.

    What he said about the natives at the beginning is exactly what i've always thought for natives here in Canada, who are completely ignored and repeatedly rejected from social conversations. They are constantly blamed for their own issues, and people think the tax breaks they get are enough of an excuse to say "we did what we could for them, it's up to them to adapt to society". part of me understands that point of view, but the grand majority of my opinion is on Brando's side; seeing negative portrayls of yourself for generations, being struck by alcoholism and suicide and being undereducated are what society have done to natives. Growing up in this kind of environment on a generational scale is what's creating this vicious cycle. It's a hard situation, but it is really cool to see Brando over forty years ago speaking of it like someone would today.

    At his early 20s, Brando already exuded with a raw talent. All the Broadway heavyweights were in awe of him. He prepared Mark Anthony role all by himself. Only the last day before the performance, he consulted with Gielgud once. His performance was astonishing, even the director was stunned by it, considering that he had no Shakespearean training. David Niven praised Brando highly after playing with him in Bedtime Story. Everybody close to Brando knew he was the funniest person in life.

    Everything Brando describes about the way different ethnic groups are portrayed on TV and film and the subsequent paint and low self image of children can be applied not just to ethnic groups but anything that varies from the fabricated ideal (white, rich, thin). Substitute gay, fat,or poor for 'ethnic group' and you will see that unfair portrayal and social conditioning still happens all the time and has the same harmful effect.

      I agree and allow me to add Muslims, Christians, atheists ...'for religious groups' , Americans , Europeans , Arabs ,Africans .. 'for national groups' , Egyptians , Arabs , Sudanese , French , English .... etc ' for geopolitical groups , and so on . something wicked is going on to keep us apart as humans!

    • @DC-ih8bv
      @DC-ih8bv 5 років тому

      Beesh Alzayed Depp might sound like him because Depp tends to take in the mannerisms of his idols. He does it with Keith Richards and his mumbling, Brando with his delayed responses, Nicholson with his " I can give a shit attitude" and so forth. The problem with Depp, and I like him, is that he needs to be Johnny Depp. He has a tremendous amount of personal, professional and legal issue mounting and also to be overcome.
      Depp will never be Brando. He lacks the natural talent and focus.

    • @savannah1823
      @savannah1823 5 років тому +2

      All these people trash talking Depp are ludicrous. He's probably not trying to imitate anyone. Johnny Depp shares the same MBTI type as Brando so that's why they're similar in mannerisms.
