  • Since I have been back from The Seeing Eye, Joplin has helped me in several doctors' appointments. But there is one tale that is just too good not to share.

Brings up a good question, how do you deal with currency? I know Australian currency has some big identifying features (our 50c peice is dodecagon, or twelve-sided polygon) but I have seen a lot of NZ coins mixed in the till and even a Canadian coin (inbetween two diffent coins and way too silvery and shiny compared to our coins).

The US currency is always a challenge. I either ask, or use a money identifying app on my phone. For instance KNFB Reader or Tap Tap See, and it will tell me what the coins or bills are. A lot of the time at this point though, I use my card. I rarely use cash at this point. I enjoyed the money in the UK because of the different shapes and weights and I felt better about using cash.

OH my goodness. Why would you treat a blind person like someone who either can just see where your stupid nails are at or like they are deaf or stupid? o__0
Kudos to you for taking it like the grown woman you are. ;)

I always try to educate if I can...sometimes people just need special invitations for everything. Thank you for the support. HUGS
