This is horrific to watch, what are our political leaders thinking? It's not just Canada, but North America in general, and although we're not there yet, what happens in North America comes to the UK. These scenes of people lying in the street are a disaster movie in real life, there was a time that you'd be calling an ambulance and offering assistance if you saw someone lying in the street, now it's Normal in these areas? WTAF You can't just say it's their choice, yes it is, but they are being enabled to make this choice, and that is our politicians fault. This is a complex issue, and I don't have the solution, but it's sure isn't THIS 😒

Some people have to think hard to choose between a coke and a pepsi. No one is choosing to be like this because they're not capable of making choices. They're like a leaf in the wind. The part that hits me the most is how much worse it’s got I’m 35 and I remember going to work painting with my dad when I 13 in the summer (he painted all gvrd places like bc housing) he took me down Hastings and showed me what happens if you do drugs it was bad back then but it’s gotten so much worse. I get a lot of them are because of drugs but a lot also become homeless cause it’s hard to just survive in the lower main land. It’s hard everywhere but even harder on the coast. So then they get depressed and go through so much trauma and fall into drugs to take away the pain. I can attest to that cause last year I was living in my van for 8-9 months I was working full time I just couldn’t afford or find a place. I ended up drinking a bunch just to sleep cause I was so devastated to be in my situation when I’ve worked so hard ever since I was out of high school. It breaks my heart to see so many people going through this shit

This is shocking! I went to Vancouver in 2002 with my wife for our honeymoon. It was then a bright, clean and vibrant place with not one homeless person or any graffiti. We liked it so much we considered emigrating there. Thank goodness we didn't!
